A word from Besito - West Hartford
Besito (Little Kiss, in English) serves authentic Mexican food and is home to tableside guacamole and the Besito Patron Margarita. Besito serves lunch and dinner everyday. Food specialties include classic tortilla soup, tamales with shrimp and chipotle adobo, ceviche made daily, boneless short ribs of beef and enchiladas suizas. We serve over 60 world class tequilas in our Agave Lounge in an atmosphere of old, rustic Mexico and sophistication bringing back memories of your last Mexican vacation!

Blue Back Square is Besito's first location in Connecticut. Our two other locations are located in Long Island, New York. Besito - Huntington opened up in February 2006 and Besito - Roslyn opened in January 2007.

Also, if you park your car on the street in a metered space remember to also feed the parking meter during your meal. 90 minutes is the maximum time meter limit that can be purchased. Overtime parking is enforced until 10PM, Monday-Saturday."

  • "I recently went to Besito with my married daughter and her husband. This was my 4th visit ,and I have never been disappointed in the least. The service? Well the service could not be better! Fabulous, attentive, and flexible polite staff. Wonderful in fact as my daughter had several change requests ad they were all met with a smile and an attitude "of course we can accommodate you"! I live 45 minutes away, and always find the drive to Besito worth it! I have taken many friends there, and they are consistently thrilled with the food and the decor and the service. The table side guacamole is FANTASTIC! The drinks special! And a wonderful menu- worth it! GO! Not your typical TEX MEX food at all! LOVE BESITO!!"

  • "I am always on the lookout for good fish tacos. Can't say that I've ever had delicious ones, so I thought I'd try them at Besito's. I was, however, disappointed. Although they were better than I've had anywhere else, they were still low on flavor. Salt and some spices would've helped. (This is my main complaint with the fish tacos I've had everywhere ~ they are always rather tasteless.)"

  • "My wife, son and I enjoyed our meal at Besito. Chips and salsa arrived immediately and were addictively good. We started with the guacamole which was prepared tableside... great! My wife ordered an off the menu vegetarian option recommended by our waiter. It was a bit spicy for her but tasty. I ordered the beef tacos which were good, not enough of the small corn tortillas were included. The veg was fresh and tasty. My son had the flautas and we all shared the elote which was really good. We shared two desserts and they were both good. One was a pudding of Mexican and European chocolate which was rich and very tasty. We would definitely come back. Service was prompt and genuinely friendly."

  • "We barely had our coats off when the waitress approached us to inquire if we wanted a drink; perhaps she was new-notiwhtstanding, we asked her indulgence to give us a moment to settle in. Our waitress returned w/i 5 minutes and inquired again...bottom line to Beisto, do not rush a first time customer at your establishment. We wanted and would have enjoyed taking everything in-we WILL return; however, I would recommend that the mgmt team impress upon your wait-staff to allow customers to relax and get acclimated."

  • "Best food with a lovely mexican flair. Do not go expecting typical TexMex because you will be extremely disappointed. Do not miss ordering the table side guacamole with a classic margarita! The decor is so well done and I always enjoy taking in all the nice touches every time we visit. Located in West Hartford Blue Back Square with street side parking and parking deck availability too. Have never been disappointed."

  • "The food was good. However, for a 12$ guacamole appetizer - you think you would get more avocado, it was delicious though. They were not good about clearing food before giving you your next plate. You think they would do a better job of this on a 2 top table with no room. The table next to us, after the couple left, the table wasn't cleared at all. We stayed for another 20 mins or so. The waitress didn't offer desert. Just gave us the check and that was it. Obviously, people don't always eat dessert, but it should always be offered. Again, the food was good. For the price you are better off at Agave in Downtown Hartford. Great food along with better service for less."

  • "The place was packed, but we had a reservation and were seated right away. Loved the ambiance and decor, but it was quite loud in the dining room. It was hard to hear our server when he told us about the evening's specials. We ordered guacamole for the table to start -- it was delicious. We had margaritas, which were great. Besito has a VERY extensive tequila list and our server was very helpful in making recommendations for things that we wanted to try. The food was good, but I didn't think it was great. Could have been what I ordered (one of the tacos entrees) or perhaps I had higher expectations going in. Service was good, but my wife never received the second drink she ordered. We'll try again, as I'm always on the hunt for Mexican."

  • "The dinner was delicious: from the specialty drinks, table made guacamole, to the main course. I had flounder which was the catch of the day. It was served with a light fresh Veracruz sauce. My husband thought his salmon was good, but not spectacular. Our son enjoyed the Carnitas. The wait staff was professionally attentive and friendly. We would all go back."

  • "Took a friend to Besito this week. We had soup and chicken enchilada . The soup was unbelievable, the flavor profile made you want to eat every last drop. The chicken in both the soup and enchilada was marinated so it had great flavor. The green sauce over the enchilada was light with a hint of lime and cilantro but not overpowering. Portion size is large, you will leave full with a doggie bag for sure! Service was excellent. I was there on a weekday this time so mostly adults but I have brought my family with middle school and high school age children, they loved it too."

We tend to order a lot of food when we go out so we like the extra room. Next time, we will have to mention this and the situation again. Overall, food was great."

  • "The restaurant Besito served to be a wonderful spot for a date night. The beautifully lit former West Hartford municipal building set the stage for a romantic, yet welcoming dinner. We were promptly seated in the dining room where customers were very laid back and at ease. The drinks were excellently prepared and our orders taken with great care. I got the Chilean sea bass with a lobster chipotle cream sauce, and my girlfriend got the tortilla pie with seafood and melted cheese on top. We were blown away at the quality of the dining experience here."

  • "This was my second time at this restaurant and even though I tried something different, for the prices, the food is mediocre at best. We started with the queso dip - very thick and not much flavor. I had the Mahi Mahi crusted with blue crab and corn. The fish was overcooked, the crust was too hard and the accompaniments (which was really just corn and red peppers) underwhelming. My daughter and husband went for the more traditional enchiladas, each a different kind, both lacked in spice and flavor. The atmosphere and warmth of the place is wonderful, I just wish the food were better. When you are paying $19 for an enchilada, it better be fantastic! Don't think we will be going back."

  • "Table side made guacamole, extremely we'll prepared and we'll balanced entrees and free churros with the check. The service is excellent, very attentive but not intrusive. The wine list leaves something to be desired, but if you like tequila, that list is extensive. Prices are right on for the food quality and portion size. Don't miss the Flan. Don't expect a quiet setting, the dining room is a beautiful space with high ceilings and large windows. The tables are fairly close together, but there are several nice large booths. The lively bar contributes to the noise, but is separated by a wall from the dining room, and it isn't so loud that you can't have a normal conversation. Overall, this is one of my favorite restaurants."

  • "Hey guys! Great service, personable staff (most of them) great food, great drinks. Kind of expensive and the lighting is a little too dark to see the menus, also the menus were in really small print ( I'm a 26 year old with 20/20 vision just to put things into perspective). My boyfriend had to pull out his phone to get a flashlight, but it was cute that you guys had mini LED flashlights. Without asking our server handed us one as she could tell we were having trouble."

  • "This is a must if you like a higher end Mexican Restaurant. Great food menu with an excellent Tequila selection, too. Service was excellent. Wife and I both had the special: Enchilada with Lobster pieces, sausage, etc, in a light corn sauce. We both loved it. Only drawback was it was very loud, but it was Saturday night in a very busy place with a packed bar. I will go again."

  • "When we arrived we were promptly brought to our table. Unfortuntely the tables were so close together you were practically involved in the other diners convesations. There is no sense of privacy. The waitperson couldn't stand next to our table but had to turn sideways to fit between. We ordered our meals and within 6 minutes they arrived which tells me that they are premade, heated and sauced. There are to many waitstaff. They remind me of ants with artificial mexican accents."

  • "We had a 7:00 reservation. We were seated right at 7:00. We were never rushed. The wait staff was excellent (there when you needed them, but not there when you didn't want them). Place is full of energy. Cocktails were tremendous. Oh, yeah, the food was amazing! We will be back!!!"
