This was my first time at lunch, which was more relaxing and low key than dinner, but both excellent.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMNot a bad thing on the menuI have eaten here twice with 2 large groups and every dish anyone has ordered they loved. The waiters know the menu well and don't rush you through dinner even if the restaurant is slammed. The noise level is a little high since it's usually pretty packed and not a large space. It's also a low lit, the first time I came they gave out mini flash lights. Prices are a little highher than most would expect compared to other Mexican places but the food is well worth it. The restaurant is a little noisy but the wait staff and food make up for it. We had an excellent waiter who explained items we didn't know and was spot on in his recommendation. The guacomole appetizer being made at your table was excellent!! Entree's cooked to perfection, and dessert's are outstanding. We had an 8:30 reservation and arrived about 5 minutes late. Despite the crowd we ordered one drink at the bar had a few sips and were told our table was ready. We hade the guacamole which they make right at your table with your choice mild, medium or spicy. Our waitress was excellent, very attentive and the food arrived very quickly and tasted delicious! This place is jumping and not the quietest - it has a "manhattanesque" feel and an energetic vibe. It has been a consistently good experience the four or five times we have been. The food is gourmet Mexican and is super fresh. The presentation and quality of the food was superb. It was a little dark in the restaurant and the waiter gave us flashlights so that we could read the menu. this is not unusual in our dining experience. It seems that most people are
unaware of those around them are trying to enjoy dinner and their own
conversation. There's not much a restaurant can do to reduce the noise
level when it's their own clientele responsible.

The food is excellent, the service is exceptional and the ambiance terrific.
It is not cheap, but you get your money's worth.
We had the signature Margarita's to start, the guacamole and ceviche. The guacamole is prepared at the table, so you know it is fresh.
I had the fish boudin, a kind of pie, and my wife had pork and pineapple tacos. We finished with tres leches and coffee.

I was there 2 weeks ago and they were half size. Last night they were 1/3 size. I hope they aren't headed towards churro tots! Maybe it was just for restaurant week. Food is fantastic, as always. Still bummed that my formerly favorite dish was changed from barramundi to mahi mahi- the barramundi was sooooo much better than the mahi mahi! I really wish you would switch it back. Our first time was OK as we really couldn't understand everything the waiter was saying so we kind of winged it but the last two times we had Joe as our waiter who was a pleasure to have as our server. He was extremely passionate about the food and made everything sound so delicious and you wanted to try everything on the menu.
