The restaurant combines Chef John Besh’s devotion to local Louisiana ingredients and techniques to provide an unexpected twist on traditional steakhouse menu items. Wine and spirits are also an integral part of the New Orleans fine dining experience at Besh Steak, with hand-selected cellar choices to accompany each dish.

The recently added Chef's Table brings distinct flair for foodies seeking a unique and personalized dining experience.The Chef's Table seats up to 10 guests and offers a personalized five-course menu prepared by Executive Chef Paul Robert. Reservations may be made by visiting Open Table and listing "Chef's Table" in the notes section of your reservation The five- course menu is $95 per person, or $145 for the five-course menu with wine pairings (tax and gratuity not included).

  • "I've eaten at some of the highest rated steak places in the US and this is in the top 3. Outstanding. The Cowboy steak was big enough to split with my fiancé and I am a big guy (6'2 280 lbs) and a big eater. It was tender and absolutely delicious. The only thing I didn't like was the seating. They have you crammed into the place with that Denny style seating, with the tables lined up next to each other, so you have to listen to the conversations on either side of you. We were celebrating my birthday, which we indicated on the reservation and also told our server, but no free dessert or nothing mde special that you tend to get at other places. Even Bonefish Grill gives you a free dessert. But if you want a good steak--this is the place."

  • "So I'm sure John Besh doesn't know this is going on in his namesake restaurant! We had eaten there before but didn't expect such a bad night! Greeted by hostess, was taken to our table which was to be the middle one in the row of side by side tables. Did I mention it was a special celebration with a nicely dressed couple (not just gamblers looking for a quick meal). It was NOT busy. I ask to have a two top on the side wall, which wasn't great but much better. When waitress came over we didn't even have a drink menu yet. She came back 20 min later, when my husband said that it was soo long she immediately gave us attitude and rolled her eyes. We Should have left with plenty other wonderful restaurants in NOLA, but didn't. Food was good!"

  • "Great experience! Rosiland our server was fantastic. Very friendly and took great care of us. Accommodated all of our requests. Iceberg wedge salad was great, the crab and corn bisque was very memorable and the pan seared ribeyes were cooked to perfection. Then came the desserts which melted in our mouths. The atmosphere was perfect. An appropriate experience to celebrate 20 years of marriage."

  • "1. wide open to casino floor 2. no restroom 3. too few private seating tables; bench style instead 4. Hilton hotel discount not accepted, server claimed restaurant wasn't a Besh property 6. server non-responsive to statement that food was substandard (au gratin' potatoes greasy and flat; flat iron steak too tough to saw, much less cut; filet was very rare instead of medium rare. **If this isn't a Besh restaurant, it shouldn't be listed with his other restaurants. Also, if the head chef trained under Besh John Besh should be ashamed of himself. We didn't bother to send back anything, because by the time the food arrived we were ready to end the torture. A costly mistake, not one saving grace."

  • "After many years going to this restaurant We felt it has grown stale. Same menu, same high prices, same décor. I was disappointed with the shrimp & grits, the shrimp was slightly mushy, the whole dish did not come together for me. My husband liked his pork chop- a dish he has ordered there for at least 5 years. We usually love Besh restaurants...this is the first time we have been underwhelmed."

  • "I go to New Orleans 4 times a year on business. I ALWAYS visit Besch Steakhouse! Cocktails are top notch! The complimentary Pâté' is so delicious and I think about it all day before my meal! The Buttermilk Salad is huge and chocked with blue cheese chunks and sugared pecans. I have never had a steak that wasn't cooked to perfection. I don't indulge in dessert so I can't review. Give this New Orleans restaurant a try! You won't be disappointed!"

  • "I was looking forward to having a great dinner celebrating my boyfriend's birthday but that didn't happen. I ordered a nice 14 oz steak and it was completely disgusting 2 bites of meat and the remainder of the "steak" was fat. His 40 dollar piece of fish was for the birds. We ordered baked oysters they brought out fried (we didn't complain just ate them) once we finished dinner dessert was not offered the bill was just brought. I would not and will not recommend this restaurant to anyone by far the worst experience. Over $100.00 that I won't get back for that meal."

Not your typical steakhouse with wedge salads, big hunk of meat and expensive sides that feed 3 people. Much more complicated dishes that were excellent."

  • "Farm to table, ranch to table dining at it's best. I have eaten at other John Besh restaurants and they all live up to the highest standards of fine dining. We were two couples. We shared the fried oysters and Bar-B-Que shrimp for appetizers. They were both excellent. The fried ousters were the real star. Perfection. We had fried shrimp, red snapper, rib eye and filet. All were excellent. My filet was tender enough to cut with a fork. I had crème brulee with a shortbread cookie and a berry compote. A perfect, lite, desert to complement the meal. Our cocktails were perfectly made and the wine list was extensive enough without being overwhelming. If you are in NOLA John Besh Steakhouse is highly recommended."

  • "I have been to this steakhouse several times and the food is good but overpriced in my opinion. This time the server was not pleased with our older guest and it showed. That is a shame because she was treating us and probably won't want to come back too soon. One of us did get the special for $40 for three courses which was much smaller portions than the regular ones on the menu, which explains why it had a lower price. Overall, I am glad there is fine dining at Harrah's casino and I think if you are there and want a nice meal this is a very convenient location if price is not a factor."

My husband said it was cooked perfectly by the time they got it right, so beside that, everybody else enjoyed their meal."

  • "Being from New Orleans we have eatin here many times before, and the food has always been great. Well, not this time. Worst filet I've ever had for that price. Over cooked, chalky, and utterly lacking flavor. My wife had one of the specials, which was "speckled trout" and it was really bad as well. The fish was not fresh, and also lacked flavor. Even the dessert was pathetic...like it came out of a Sarah Lee box. Seems like they have thrown in the towel trying to compete with Ruths Chris across the street."

I knew it would be a gamble to take him out for dinner but to my surprise he was happy with the entire experience. He went on about the quality of the steak and how perfect it was prepared. Had the 10 oz filet which is the best steak they have in my opinion, ordered it medium and it came out beautifully cooked, artfully and graciously served along with wonderful grilled asparagus. I always enjoy the bibb salad with buttermilk blue cheese and candied walnuts - a meal in itself. One of the great things about Besh is that although it is located inside Harrah's casino, it is right by an entry door and you are far enough away as to not be disturbed by clanging slot machines. This is a quiet steak house. Mpst are loud and noisy. Many conversations but not noisy here. I'll go back again and again."

  • "I have looked forward to eating at a John Besh restaurant since I met him at a book signing in Dallas years ago. This year I took my daughters to New Orleans for our girls trip and was excited to eat at Besh Steak. I loved our table. The problem was the service was not up to par with the other restaurants we visited in New Orleans and I'm sure was not up to Chef Besh's standards. Our waiter was slow and preoccupied and there were two men in suits who spent the entire time looking at stuff on their phones and talking to each other. I assume they were some kind of front of house managers but they never spoke to us or helped the waitstaff. I am a big John Besh fan so I will try another of his restaurants but I won't return to Besh Steak."

  • "We had a dinner with friends for a going away. They brought us a nice pate to start the meal--and also an extra! We had a vegetarian with us and they made her a special vegetable risotto for dinner, she loved it and could not eat it all. Her hubby had the fish and it was perfectly cooked. My BF and I had the ribeye and the 10oz filet. They were cooked perfectly and were much bigger than the weight advertised. We would easily go back the next time we were in NOLA."

It does not matter if a person is your waiter/waitress or not, because if someone passes your table and notices you may need something, they just simply "pick up the slack" with a smile on their face. This is a tough industry, but this crew never ever shows you that they may be having a bad night. This is one of the most consistent service I have ever had anywhere. they are informative of the menu; if you don't have a reservation, they do everything to accommodate you; they never make you feel like you are middle/low class. everything is cooked to perfection.
