Bertrand at Mister A's definitely qualifies as a top dollar spot - I spent a little over $200 after tip for the two of us (4 drinks, 2 apps, 2 entrees). But the service was spectacular, the view was amazing, the atmosphere was romantic, and the food was good.
The food should be the cornerpiece of every restaurant and I have been to similarly priced places that present flavors which blew my mind. The items we had didn't quite do that, but the food was fresh, hot, delicious, and packed with flavor. It has to have one the best dining experiences ever! The staff went out of their way to make our night special. The food melted in your mouth! I loved the Mac and cheese and the bread was heavenly! We had Mediterranean Paella and the Pork Belly pave it was wonderful and for dessert we had Creme Brulee and they even sent complimentary Anniversary cookies. This is our second experience since Bertrand took over and it has only improved. Each member of our party was highly pleased with every course. But the service was truly remarkable: our busboy was more polished than some headwaiters I have recently encountered, and the captain was ever concerned with our enjoyment. When my wife commented on her chablis, the maitre d' dropped by and discussed white burgundies for several minutes without ever seeming pompous.
