  • "Perfect! Delicious food. The lovely soft piano and guitar music playing on the background makes for a relaxing atmosphere and allows dinner conversation without having to talk over or compete with loud blaring track songs. The service was fantastic very attentive waiter without being intrusive. Upscale casual is the overall feeling. I'm sure Gordon Ramsey would be pleased!!"

  • "As always, the food and drink is excellent. Unfortunately our favorite servers were not working. The new guy was nice, but we missed Marcus and Ricky. This place has great food and atmosphere and is more affordable than the new chain steakhouse that just opened. Long live Berryhill, but please bring back the tiramisu."

  • "This was my fourth experience at Berryhill and as always, service was impeccable. My companion ordered the Sea Bass and was politely warned that the menu doesn't properly explain that it comes in a casserole. She was thankful for the warning and went with the salmon instead. She was very pleased with her dish. I had the scallops, that was said to be served on a bed of linguine. The scallops were tender and cooked to perfection, however the pasta was so heavily sauced that it overwhelmed the dish. Those scallops should have been the star with a back up dish. Ambiance is lovely and not too loud. The house wine was surprisingly good. We will be back!"

  • "It is a 50 mile drive for us to get to Boise. Therefore, we are looking for something special in a restaurant. Berryhill,s has provided that for us over the past 25 years. We,ve been with him through all the moves and are never disappointed."

  • "Our experience began by walking in the door and being seated immediately based on my Open Table reservation. The service was outstanding across the board. (And I'm a past fine dining food server - very high expectations) We each started with a small salad (house, and spinach both excellent) and then tried two of the specials: I had the braised short ribs which was tender and falling off the bone. My husband enjoys dishes with olives and the Three Olive Chicken was no exception, he loved it! I would recommend it for people who love the brine olive flavor. The wine was perfectly paired with our meals (I had a bold Zin and he had a Pinot Grigio). The live piano was an absolutely perfect touch to relax and enjoy our entire meal."

  • "Delicious Sunday brunch buffet with mimosas. Can't wait until I am in town to try out a dinner service with some live jazz."

  • "Great place for a date night. Live jazz on Friday night."

  • "I ordered a beet and haricot vert salad for lunch. Beets were undercooked and quite overwhelming. I didn't know what to expect, but thought beets might be mixed more with greens. Not a good choice."

  • "There were four of us celebrating a birthday. Upon completion of our evening we all agreed that it was a wonderful experience at Berryhill. The ambiance, service and food were impeccable. We will be coming back and recommending to others."

  • "Great Food, good service. Mr. Berryhill, always enjoy our time at your restaurant"

  • "Food and service were both excellence. I was reminded that I need to come here more often. This is a Boise gem of the culinary scene. The chicken curry special was so good that I wanted the recipe. My dining partner had a lovely halibut dish. Both of these were from the daily specials menu. My only request would be slightly larger portion of the sauteed vegetables."

  • "We were seated promptly. However, we waited for 15 mins for our server. She brought water and left. We had to wave her back to our table for our drinks. Then, being that it was our first time there had to ask her about the buffet. We never saw her again until the check arrived. When making brunch reservations online, it lists $14 per person. However, we were charged $16 per person. We would have discussed with her, but she was nowhere to be found and we had another appointment to get to. The food was delicious, but lukewarm. Given that we were the first guests in the restaurant, the food should have been hot. We emailed the manager about our experience, no response. We will not be returning."

  • "My girlfriend and I waited over 15 minutes after we were sat before we were approached by a server. We then waited almost an hour between appetizer and entrée. The service was absolutely horrible and the food mediocre. Do not waste your time! I have been to several restaurants in the Boise area with similar prices but far better food and service."

  • "Loved the brunch at Berryhill. It was kinda high energy, a little noisy, but the omelette bar, roast beef, and buffet breakfast items were all excellent. Especially the brown sugar bacon - delish. I eat a Paleo diet and it was SUPER easy to stay on diet here - an omelette loaded with veggies and meats, some bacon and fresh fruit. Loved it and I will go back again - soon!"

  • "Great music and fine dining. We had never been there for anything but brunch, dinner service did not disappoint. The evening atmosphere is a perfect setting for date night!"

  • "I made reservations 3 months in advance for Valentines day. I booked it because I saw a live jazz trio on their calendar. However when we arrived there was a piano player doing pop covers (elevator music). I inquired and they said they never had a jazz group on the schedule. We waited at the bar and were seated the normal 15 minute wait after our reservation on a holiday. From that point we waited an hour and twenty minutes for our food and one item was the wrong dish. By the time we got the corrected entree we'd eaten the other and were again waiting. The manager reduced our bill, the food was excellent, and the server was great (hence 2 service stars), but not having live jazz and waiting so long weren't what I expected."

  • "The food was good but not great. Technically the meals were prepared excellent. But, for the price I wanted to be wowed. The menu seemed a little on the small side but there was enough variety that most people couldn't find something they like. My wife and I enjoyed the service and the relaxed pace, not slow just not rushed. It was very loud, but that was just a loud party of 6 at the next table, not kitchen or staff noise."

  • "Special dinner menu was nice, with a good selection to choose from. Dinner was very, very nice, food was cooked the way we ordered and was very tasteful. The only drawback was the desert menu. Overall though the dinner and service was what we expected from this restaurant. We will return."

  • "The food was average. I suppose I was hoping to see some diversity in the menu. The food was much of the same kind found at other restaurants just overly priced. I would've liked some more choices on the menu, maybe a fresher twist on the dishes."

  • "We love Berryhill..... However on feb 14 we arrived at 8:00 pm for our 8 pm reservation and ended up waiting over 1 hour for our main dish. It was so long of a wait that the kitchen manager visited our table and apologized. He said there was a back up in the kitchen but our food will be coming out soon. He said not to worry that he would take care of us. We thought that May mean that they would comp our desert. They did not. Overall it ruined our evening. Don't think we will be returning"

  • "The food selection & quality was great, the service plentiful & frequent, and the live piano music served up the proper ambience. Berryhill is really a fine restaurant for special occasions - a real treat!"

  • "Was able to get a reservation 10 days out from valentines day without any problems. My wife and I had never been there, but it was a great first time experience. A little pricey, but we went for a special day."

  • "We went to Berryhill's for a 1:00 lunch, during a snowstorm, to celebrate a birthday. We sat in the main dining room with a full, floor to ceiling view of the snowfall, beautiful and it enhanced the warmth of Berryhill's ambiance! The warm artichoke dip apppetizer, wedge salad, halibut chowder and double chocolate cake with a latte were everything we hoped, flawless, delicious! The service was even better than the food, if that's possible. We had two male servers (I think one might have been in training?) and they were helpful with wine and food choices; discreet and attentive at the same time. It was a memorable dining experience and one of the best (hitting all the notes) that I have had in downtown in quite a while."

  • "Have been here once before for drinks, but first time for dinner. Snowy Friday night out with my wife so wasn't very crowded, but right away we were impressed with the service and the ambiance. Service was excellent as was the jazz duo playing throughout the night. We ordered the specials, halibut on risotto and pork-mushroom ravioli. Had a great appetizer and soups as well. Everything was outstanding, not sure why we haven't been here sooner. Will definitely go back. Great place for those special occasions as well."

  • "I love restaurants that have childhood classics with an adult spin. I had the fig and feta grilled cheese with tomato basil soup and it was fantastic! The prices were very reasonable. The service was timely. The server was very friendly but seemed very "hip" and had a bit of a sarcastic sense of humor which may not have been totally appropriate for my business lunch, simply because I don't think the older women I was with really got it, but he was very polite and informative and did a nice job."

  • "Our server was great, very friendly. The staff was also always there to fill up our water or deliver our appetizer and food. Our dinner and drinks were great. The only probelm was, we ate too much. :/ =) Brooke"

  • "First bad meal I've had here (over-salted and over-cooked) and 30% more expensive than 1 year ago. Bring back the affordable end of the menu like the good pastas."

  • "We always have a great meal at Berryhill. Our server, Ricky, was very knowledgeable about the specials and made excellent recommendations on food and drink. We can't wait to go back. Be sure to try the "DanHattan"."

  • "Everytime I come to Berryhill, I want to think they will have trained their waitstaff to be more responsive, to truly provide the level of service their location, food and pricing deserve. Yet every time I am disappointed. Whomever is managing the staff is missing the details and timing of fine service. The attitude is indifferent and slow as though we are interrupting the more important stuff happening in the back of the house."
    Dined on 12/24/2013
  • "Although almost anywhere I go with the friend I brought to Berryhill, with almost no challenges the ambience embellished the lunch experience. At the height of the lunch hour it got a little noisy, overall with the service and food made the 2+ hours in the restaurant most enjoyable. My date also agreed with this opinion. The only downer was the waiter forgetting a couple of requested details such as asking a second time for a side of salad dressing. We also thought that someone was trying to be overly sophisticated with the menu in terms of the descriptions."
