Our server was pleasant and attentive without being intrusive. There was an awkward moment as we were leaving. Another diner in Berret's restaurant asked for the Taphouse Grill menu and was told that wasn't an option. Food is delicious, the staff are very friendly, and it's so convenient to Colonial Williamsburg. The shrimp and scallops were tasty but the sauce on the pasta was very bland. One of our party had the fish (I believe - Blue Plate Special) and thought it was very good. I have been to several seafood places throughout Europe and the States, and this is top 3.
I highly recommend to get te grilled catfish sandwich as it is very rich in flavor but subtle at the same time. If you do not like pickles, ask them to take them out. While the menu is not the most extensive, there are always solid choices and a selection of specials that make each dinning experience special.
