A word from Bergerac
Welcome to Bergerac, the first "party mixology" bar of its kind. We offer craft cocktails combined with an eclectic menu of shareable small plates in an intimate bar/lounge setting. We only accept reservations for parties of 8 or more, all other seating is available on a first come, first serve basis. For event inquiries, please contact events@bergeracsf.com

Bergerac takes its inspiration from the legendary Villa Nellcote, an old French mansion where the rolling stones recorded their seminal album "Exile on Main Street." During their stay, the Stones not only threw great parties, but savored the best food and drink, waited on by their private staff and their renowned personal chef.

We aim to offer the same quality experience without the pretension, fusing craft cocktails and great public house fare with the unexpectedness and liveliness of an impromptu house party.

  • "Food & drink delicious, but $20 per head min. required and 48hrs cancellation notice to avoid a $10 per head charge on credit card used to make reservation. A young person's bar; my husband felt very self-conscious, esp. since we were seated by the front door and hostess stand, and customers kept coming in (obviously without reservations) and would stare at us, since we were the first thing they would see, before going on in. When we arrived, they did not have a table for three, as reserved, so they put us at a small table for two and pulled up a tiny café chair for our 6'2" son. No signs or notice on menu of $$ policies, so, I felt like a chump for making a reservation. With tip, bill was >$80 for three drinks and three small plates. "

  • "My first few visits to Bergerac when it was new and 'fresh' were great. However, this trip was a miss all the way around. Starting as soon as we entered w/our greeting who turned out to be our table server. If you don't like your job, you should really just quit. Why pass off your suffering to the patrons who come w/their hard earned money to have to catch your negative vibes? Not fair. Not to mention the rest of the evenings service 'performance' was off on all levels...even when we did give up on the table service and went to the bar to fetch our own drinks....'tude and timing was equally abysmal. "

  • "The music is so loud that you cannot hear a thing. I am surprised this is on open table because the food is bar munchies not really a spot to have dinner. The music is good but if you want to have a conversation with your date forget this place! I did like the cocktail selection but this place is more of a pre dinner watering hole than a place to sit down and eat."

  • "We were the first ones there - date night without kids - having a reservation wouldn't of mattered. We sat at the bar. Friendly bartenders, really top notch cocktails. High end bar food - we had deviled eggs, sliders, pizzette. All very good and reasonable. Great spot if you don't need a large meal but want to have a little bite and some nice drinks before heading out or after being out. Bartender comp'd us a drink since we don't get out much. First time there, so it was especially nice."

  • "Actually had reservations here on a Saturday night for a friends 40th. 7 of us arrived at 8:15 and were seated promptly. Ashley, our server came over immediately and took our drink order. I wasn't sure what to expect after the other negative reviews but our drinks came out within 10 minutes or less after we ordered them. We left around 10pm because we had reservations at another spot. GREAT place!"

  • "We had a reservation but when we arrived, there were no service people at the door or close by. The place was very full. We noticed an empty table in the corner so we decided to sit down. We noticed a couple of servers and tried to get eye contact, but no one came to see us for 10 minutes. I finally flagged one down and asked for menus. Someone else eventually brought us water. After that, we were waiting for more than 20 minutes for someone to take our drink and food order. No one came, despite attempts at trying to get the servers' attention. We had had enough and left. It's unfortunate because we heard the drinks at this place were great, but we won't be going back."

  • "Great and unusual drinks, fun to experiment. Helpful, energetic service staff. They're also very informative and accommodating for Gluten-Free concerns..their sliders are delicious, for exampe. They offered to serve half the appetizers on buns and the other half in tiny lettuce wraps -- brilliant! Everyone got to enjoy the experience NOTE: They're *adamant* about opening at 5pm, not before. So don't come before then if you're trying to celebrate after leaving work early. It was a little silly to stand outside the open front door until precisely 5, but once in it was a delightful experience. A better customer service approach would have been keep the door closed or welcome us to sit for a few minutes while they prep other areas."

  • "The service was outstanding and they made our night very special. We were a large party but the waiter was patient and attentive and the food came quickly. Everyone was accommodating from the manager to the bartenders to all the waiters. I will definitely be going back."

  • "I am not sure why this place is called a restaurant when it is really a bar with a limited food menu. Their food is ok but their cocktails are the highlight. The waitress was over attentive to the point of being annoyed and overly persistent that we order as if there were people waiting. I guess I should have noticed that the place was dead at 8 pm - the usual dinner hour - and packed for drinks at 10. I would go back for drinks but not for food."

  • "More of a bar/lounge than a restaurant- I wouldn't come here if you're starving but the food menu should not be ignored. Everything we tried was delicious but the portions are a bit on the smaller side so we had to order about 2/3 each. The cocktails are all very well balanced and complex and the decor in this place is top notch. Highly recommend to grab drinks and a light bite. There's also a nightclub upstairs should you feel so inclined."
