  • "Good range of food options from locally sourced dishes to pizzas. The wine flights were a great option to try several outstanding local wines."

  • "We enjoy eating here occasionally as the price is a little high for regular dining. We often come for corned beef and cabbage on St. Patty's day as it's one of the better places we've found for that meal. Unfortunately, the corned beef was a fatter cut this year, so not as good as prior years. The restaurant is a loud, so it's not the place to go for a quiet meal, but it's a fun place to go once in a while. Great service and I recommend sitting by the fire pit. They definitely make it a good experience."

  • "We originally stopped for a late snack after a concert.... The ambience and wait staff got our attention and we ended up having dinner anyway! She had a salad, and I had a burger, but then the creme brûlée was calling, so we obliged! Everything was wonderful ... and we were staying another night ... so --- We went back! The combination of subtle flavors in the Butternut/Gorgonzola Ravioli were exquisite! The Black Angus New York Strip was perfectly turned and amazingly tender. We finished with Chocolate Mosaic Torte with fudge and caramel layers over creme Anglaise and raspberry sauce. The waIt staff were friendly, attentive, and nothing escaped their attention.... If you wish to pamper your taste buds -- then beat a path to Bentley's!!!"

  • "We travelled to Salem to visit some client friends, and we arrived late! We found Bentley's via internet, and were grateful for the late hours they are open, and the menu online inspired us to try them out! The ambiance, food, and service all made the evening a wonderful start to our Oregon trip. The potsticker sauce was delicious, and the pork chops with bourbon BBQ glaze was wonderful. The herbed butter with fresh bread was an excellent accompaniment, thank you!"

  • "My wife and I celebrated 29 years of wedded bliss (Ouch, she made me say that) and Salem is a midway point for my daughters in Corvallis and Monmouth. We made a last minute reservation change which was greeted with would 730 work better for you. I always enjoy when a restaurant is flexible and accommodating. We were promptly seated at a long table in an alcove away from the kitchen. It was quite quiet and made conversation easy. We sampled several of the appetizers and particularly enjoyed the Korean chicken lettuce wraps. Entrees included New York strip excellently prepared with a nice char and correct doneness. My daughter had the scallops and the MIL had the pork chop. All the food was very good and our server Kristen was great."

  • "The food was neither remarkable nor disappointing, but the waitress was very good and provided great service. Clearly a better experience than I typically expect from a hotel restaurant."

  • "Had never been to Bentley's before, and decided to take my honey there for Valentine's Day. Ordering wine at dinner. we ordered, let's say, wine #1. Ten minutes later we were told they were out of that wine. Ok, that happens, so we asked for a bottle of wine #2. Ten minutes later, we were informed that they were out of that wine also. We have now been there 20 minutes plus, and still searching for a wine. We fiinally got a bottle of wine #3, after another wait. When the bill arrived, I noticed that wine #1 did not appear on it, but both Wine #2 and wine #3 were listed. They do seem to have a problem with the wines. I will return, just to see if my visit was a fluky one or not, and give them another try."

  • "I walked into Bentley's Grill I was pleased by the ambiance. The high ceiling, long, inviting bar, and uncrowned tables promised a good evening. Frankly, I should say over-promised. We weren't in a hurry, but the service dragged. The menu held great promise, too. We ordered a fillet, a New York steak and a pork chop. I ordered my steak "warm-rare", it came medium. It was cooked correctly the second time. It's happened before and will again, an unfortunate, though not fatal, experience. What caused me to write this mediocre review is this. We shared "tastes" of each other's meals, and none of the food was particularly good. It wasn't bad, but gosh, such a nice place, such great promise, and overall, I was just a little disappointed."

  • "We started out with the goat cheese and romesco bruschetta and it was delicious! We cleaned the plate. I had the butternut squash ravioli and it was almost decadent. Amazing! My husband had the filet which he ordered medium well and it was extremely tender and beautifully seasoned. We both loved our food. The bread they bring to the table is soft and herbed with olives in it with an herbed butter. It was so good! But, the best part for me was the Lemondrop I ordered. Absolutely delicious and my new favorite drink in the world! Great, friendly service. Loved the atmosphere with the giant fireplace in the middle of the room. No bad tables."

  • "Bentley's is probably the best place in Salem. The restaurant is very well done, the service was good and there were no disappointments in food. It isn't very exciting either, but again, for Salem it's the best option."

  • "Bentley's has a nice atmosphere, and the food was delicious. The filet mignon was perfectly done, and all of the accoutrements were fantastic. Some of their booths are a little small, but they easily accommodate our request to switch to a different seat. The servers were attentive, helpful, and friendly. This was a night out for my birthday, and I would happily return to Bentley's!"

  • "We recently moved to the Salem area from Anchorage. We were discouraged in our efforts to find that special place where the two of us could escape and relax or a great dining get away. We think we have found it. We will be back..."

  • "Decent food at a reasonable price point in an attractive room. Coupled with a show at the Elsinore Theater made for a very pleasant evening in Salem. Ordered lamb chops -medium, wife ordered pork chops medium well, One lamb chop cooked perfectly to temperature, one cooked to medium rare, pork chop was well done, and not as tasty as it could have been. To me that is a serious flaw in the meal quality, and the reason for 3 star rating. Ceasar salad was very bland; no noticeble anchovy, garlic or lemon taste in the dressing. Chocolate Cake for desert; unspectacular but decent. Quantities and price point very reasonable, Not too much food, but enough to satisfy. Drinks and wine very tasty and again priced well. A fine experience."

  • "I came in for a meal before a concert at the Elsinore Theater. We were seated quickly with a reservation, and it was a good thing we had a reservation because there were no available tables. I had the Lamb Chop Special, and I was very disappointed in both the quality and size of the lamb chops. There were 2 small 1/2 chops that were served, and they were a bit overcooked, and there was very little meat on the chops. I was expecting much better quality due to reviews that I had read on Urbanspoon. The service was very attentive and fast, but overall the lack of quality of the meal left me wanting much more."

  • "My daughter Tara wanted to choose a fantastic restraint and looked on the computer. It was for my birthday and she came from California. She showed me the ad on the computer. It looked great. They showed lobster and what looked like lamb. When we got the menu nothing like that was on it. I ended up getting steak which I did not want but as I did not like anything else. I would not go there again. None of the above applies."

  • "We traveled by car to Salem from Sacramento and were very pleased to find that Bentley's had great food and a private booth waiting for us. The wood-fired pizzas are really good and the seafood fresh and large portion. Very nice local wine."

  • "Food was delicious, service was pleasant & professional, not too hovering and poetic, lively scene, but quiet seating for us oldies, not as expensive as I expected, good ambience."

  • "Had a family gathering- 6 adults, 2 kids (very well behaved). Excellent cocktails and Eola Hills Cabernet. Also excellent filets, fish, and burgers. All were prepared as ordered. I think we tried most of the desserts and would have enjoyed more of them except for the capacity problem. We had dinner here because I was staying at the Grand Hotel which was adjoining. I also recommend the hotel highly. But either way, staying next door or coming in 'off the street' with a reservation, this is a "do not miss" restaurant in Salem. Maybe in the whole state!"

  • "I love the restaurant and the ambiance and find it'a s great place to take clients and meet friends, but have to admit I've never felt the food lived up to the setting. I've eaten there for lunch quite a few times but am always a little disappointed in the selections (some of the salads I used to enjoy were eliminated from the lunch menu). This time we had dinner with clients and the service was nice, the food wasn't quite what it should have been. I had the beet salad, and while the dressing and salad itself were good, I was disappointed it didn't have more beets, and the chowder had too many potatoes."

  • "I ordered the fungi pizza for $12.99 and it was more than I can eat and it was really good if you like thin crust pizza. My husband ordered the Bentley burger for $9.95 medium rare and it came out perfect with a plate full of fries and he loved it."

  • "Def not a place that you visit every weekend, but great for a special occasion. Went for our anniversary and had a great time. Very laid back, not pushy on the specials, and nothing but amazing flavor all around. A very unique place in a city you wouldn't expect."
