We proceeded to dinner in a warm dining room with a private and comfortable booth. Our waiter was a riot and was very helpful in recommending appropriate dinner and wine choices ased upon our particular tastes. We both had the filet, which was prefectly cooked to order. The mac and cheese was fantastic with crunchy breadcrumbs on top. The carrot cake was huge and fantastic. The service was superb, especially our waiter, who was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and wine. He made the entire experience. They were accommodating to split salads so that we didn't have gargantuan portions. I walked away satisfied and satiated, but not overstuffed, as one feels at most steak/chop houses. My wife and I came here for our first anniversary, and we are both have high expectations for what good service means. From the moment we arrived we felt like we were VIPs. We were greeted at the door and mentioned Happy Anniversary to my wife, had specially printed menus, and the wait staff is exceptional. I have to give a special nod to Kelly who took care of us all evening. She was amazing! The food was excellent, and the server we had was polite but definitely lacked some personality. The filet mignon was one of the most tender filets I have ever had, and my boyfriend was very pleased with his cut of meat as well. It was also very good, when I had the opportunity to try some of my girlfriend's wet aged filet vs. my natural filet. As a rule of thumb with steak houses, you must have great sides, and they do. The potatoes, carmelized onions, and parmesan was good enough that my girlfriend who doesn't eat onions ate it. I was slightly disappointed with the lobster mac and cheese, because the lobster chunks were all claw, and not totally evenly cooked. Wedge salad + 2 filets + potatoes + Mac and Cheese = $126 before tax. This was by far the most exquisite dining experience we have ever had. Our server was Steve. He made it special and memorable by printing special congratulatory menus, getting me a shawl because it was a bit chilly, serving dessert on the house, and rolling up our menus like little diplomas for us to take home. It was so refreshing to experience real customer service. Coming from Alaska, it seems to be lost on most. We definitely will come back as soon as we can.

Troy ( I believe that was his name) was a great help in choosing our dishes, and he was there whenever we needed anything without being intrusive. Fabulous food! Steak was exceptional, even the sides were perfect. Loved it. Ambience was perfect, intimate, comfortable.

I don't know if this is because they don't do that practice or if he forgot. Either way there was no need for it because the food was amazing. And I appreciated not having the interruption! When we arrived it was empty and when we left it was empty. The restaurant might have been nice but we didnt see it. I have found recently when I use open table for reservations I get the worst table in the restaurant. I have quit going to some good restaurants because of table placement. Bringing adult guests out and being placed by the kitchen or behind the wall puts a bad impression in mind. Attentive, but not over bearing, helpful and just pleasant as can be.

I guess I expected an “older” Chicago steakhouse, but this one is sleek in design and ambiance. Our waiter, Nick, was personable with right-on suggestions, and he provided interesting history of Benny’s. He never hovered, but was always there at the right moment. Our dinner selections included dry-aged NY strip, surf and turf, asparagus, truffle mashed potatoes, chocolate pudding cake, a cocktail, coffee, and cappuccino. Both steaks were perfectly prepared, but I would not repeat the truffle potatoes as they were too oily for my taste and too filling. Next time, I’ll try a salad!
