  • "Bennett's has a variety of good lunch options but what I love best is that you can order Beecher's mac & cheese in about five different ways. I had mine with kale and spicy peppers and it was so delicious! My friend had the tomato soup with grilled cheese, which was also excellent. The waiter easily accommodated the request for a different bread than was listed on the menu for the sandwich. This is a great neighborhood spot. It's lively but not too loud, the service is warm and friendly, the food is fresh, well made and tasty. It's my go-to spot on Mercer Island and it is a great place for a Seattle resident (me) to meet my Eastside friends who can't get into the city half-way. I recommend it. I've been several times and will continue to go."

  • "I hadn't been to Bennett's lunch in awhile and it was very nice. Just wish it opened a little earlier"

  • "I have dined here with friends on numerous occasions. Only once was the experience less than favorable and that was due to a bad server. That problem apparently was fixed and the service on this most recent visit was excellent! And the veggie grilled sandwich and cup of corn soup were memorable! OH! Yes, this was the day that the fire alarm went off just as we had ordered. The staff did an excellent job of keeping diners informed as to what was going on--someplace else in the building. This was much appreciated since I am on a walker and do not move in a hurry! Moving was not necessary."

  • "Bennett's is a great place for a more upscale family dining experience on Mercer Island. The placed was packed the night we were there, but the wait staff kept things moving along, and there were no delays in getting our order placed or food received. The lamb shank was a winner: meat was tender off the bone. The tomato bisque was delicious. Bennett's stocks Martinelli's Apple Cider, which is tasty and always a hit with kids. For those over 21, there are some good wines to be had."

  • "I loved the connection to local farmers. The food was very good and the service great. We had a nice meal with wine. It may be a little too noisy for folks with hearing issues."

  • "We ate very simply and it was very tasty. The server poured us a little taster of wine without us asking. It was really good, but we had just had wine before going to the restaurant."

  • "Neighborhood restaurant with acceptable food and decent but not great servicve. Location more a draw than the food although it is the best(and really the only!) Sit down restaurant on MErcer Island"

  • "We enjoy going to Bennett's especially on Friday afternoons with friends for Happy Hour. The food is always good and a fair value. The only minor glitch on this visit was that the waitress brought the wrong salad but offered to exchange it for the correct one. Bennett's is a real Mercer Island treasure."

  • "The ambience and decor felt a step above a sports bar with a large tv and bar dominating the small restaurant. I had the kale salad which ended up being overdressed and just boys of kale mixed in with romaine. The mussels appetizer was good, however."

  • "We enjoy Bennett's regularly. Great organic or local food focus, wonderful seasonings and sauces."

  • "It could use some noise attenuators. It was hard to hear the two companions seated across from me. We were in the middle of the main area. Despite that, I will be back for certain."

  • "Enjoyed everything but the noise level. Our foursome was all elderly and had great difficulty hearing each other. We were former demesne of Mercer Island and had a lot to talk about, but alas, we couldn't hear"

  • "I met a business colleague for lunch. We sat outside on a warm, sunny, Seattle day and were very grateful for the orange umbrella that shaded our table. The service was prompt and friendly. We had sandwiches and I had the gazpacho, which was very green. The gazpacho was topped with crème fraiche and bits of corn. The base of the soup was mostly cucumber and was very fresh. It could have used more garlic as I like my gazpacho with lots of garlic. Everything was quite good."

  • "We went to a wonderful late lunch here for Bastille day, and got the Beecher's grilled cheese and tomato soup, and a pasta dish, both of which were lovely. We shared the rhubarb crumble and it was a delightful, filling lunch for 2 !"

  • "This was the first time I have been there, but by far not the last. Everything was perfect including food, service, atmosphere and Ian who was my server. I had the Eggs Bennett (Benedict) and was so pleased. Eggs were cooked to my specs, Beechers cheese sauce... scrumptious, and the rest delightful. The "on the house" scones with sweet butter didn't hurt any either. Wish I'd tried there sooner."

  • "Went for lunch and decided on soup and sandwich. The Bennett's version of tomato soup is one of the best I've eaten, and combined with their grilled cheese sandwhich (suitable for frequent dunking in the tomato soup) is sublime. I was a bit less enthusiastic about the house side salad, just because I am not in love with field greens, as opposed to romaine. But the taste was also good, with a light vinaigrette style dressing. Service was outstanding, and we ate outdoors on the front patio street side on a gorgeous day."

  • "I like to schedule lunches when I come from Seattle to meet Eastside appointment at Bennett's because the service is professional and fast; the food is delicious; and I can get out in an hour to get back to Seattle."

  • "Bennett's is always a great spot here on Mercer Island. The new menu is a nice change but I still go with the salmon (sans Blueberry sauce)..."

  • "always a fun place to be. Good food, good wine. Our server was attentive even when it became quite busy. We arrived at 4:00 p.m. when it was very quiet but it did not take long to become busy. Still service was good. Easy to get to."

  • "A great place to go for lunch. Dine indoors or out. The varied menu has great choices using farm fresh northwest ingredients and fabulous Beecher's cheese. Enjoy great sandwiches, soups, salads and more hearty entrees. Works for business lunches or dining with friends. Enjoy!"

  • "Bennett's is a good place to eat lunch, but it is much too noisy for any table conversation. Food is good, but not exceptional. Too many tables crowded into a tight area. If you want to lunch alone or not talk with your companions, then by all means go. Service was pleasant."

  • "Used to attend quite frequently but over the last few years not as often - service was friendly but was very slow at one point until our party made a note of letting our server know that we were short on time."

  • "I like small portions but 2 itty bitty yam chips and 3 pieces of kale for a slaw was ridiculous. For the price I thought it was poor. Service was ok but I would not come back here. I live on mercer island and was hoping it would be a good spot for special occasion. I was disappointed. "

  • "food used to be fantastic, but now is bland and overpriced. $50 for a relatively plain salad, and a cake-like french toast, coffee and juice. Music is too loud for a brunch spot. This used to be our favorite brunch spot, but we won't likely go back. Service was very good however, from hostess to server."

  • "As usual, a very nice occasion. The mussels are outstanding, always plump and served with good toasted bread for sopping up the broth. "

  • "We dined there as a midway point for a meeting... this was my first visit. The parking is a little tricky in that the retail complex has outgrown the parking deck and the side lot and there is spill over onto a dirt/gravel/field of a lot that wasn't very vehicle friendly- next time I will drive a ATV to the place. Our server was a little lacking in explanation- I do admire a server that can take an order and not write it down. He was very concerned with our entire table's hydration needs- I sloshed getting back to the car to said rocky lot as we left. I ordered the an apple salad and the Beecher's mac and cheese... both great choices."

  • "The halibut I ordered was quite small. There were 2 very small pieces of purple potato and they were cold! The 2 pea vines were little more than decoration. The sauce was skimpy and the pistachios not to be found. What a terrible disappointment and ripoff!! "

  • "Bennett's Pure Food Bistro offers a relaxing brunch atmosphere. The menu offered both breakfast and lunch times, so you have a choice on which part of brunch you would like to celebrate =) Their gluten free selections are slim, but there are some available. I chose the chicken chilaquiles, which is gluten free, and requested they not bring the complimentary scones to the table. The coffee was dark and robust, without being acidic. The staff was friendly and helpful, accomplished without visiting our table every five minutes and disrupting the flow of our conversation. Very enjoyable meal and dining experience "

  • "We've had dinner at Bennett's many times before. Apparently they just remodeled, but it doesn't show. Compared to many previous times, the experience wasn't pleasant and the NEW menu was very limited. I was disappointed and probably will think twice about going back. Bob Mesher"

  • "Bennett's has a niche all to itself on Mercer Island. Very reliable, good food with good service. Never inexpensive, but the product never disappoints. "

  • "I went to Bennett's on Saturday night with my elderly parents, who use a wheelchair and a walker between them. The staff and our server were especially patient and considerate with the extra time they needed to get seated, as well as stowing away their gear. Thank you for making it easy to take them there; it's one of their favorite places to go to dinner."
