The brunch was just fantatic. Everyone's food was superb, quickly delivered and the service was perfect. We had the blood orange mimosas which were great. My daughter had one of the omelets and the guys had the breakfast platter, all were quite happy. My daughter is a foodie, so it's hard to please her, but pleased she was. I had the monkey bread and chicken and was really happy with it. Just the right combination of sweet and savory. They're used to the typical massive portions and standard flavors of Houston, so were happily surprised by the dishes available at Benjy's. Unique flavors, great service, and portions large enough to fill you up - but not so large you could eat left overs for a week.
I'm out for dinner at least three times a week for business, and I honestly can't remember an experience this good in months.

Went there for my birthday on Saturday... and it is always a treat. I had the mahi mahi sald, it was absolutely delicious. Our waitress, a lovely gal from Nicaragua, was simply amazing... her recommendations were the best, and her honesty and friendly disposition made our visit very pleasant. Benjy's is one of those restaurants where you know they will always get it right... We're lucky to have a restaurant of this caliber in Houston. When I walked in the door, they wished me a Happy Birthday, and brought me chocolate cake and monkey bread after lunch! Bravo, Benjy's! On this latest visit, everyone in our party of 6 thoroughly enjoyed our pre-dinner drinks, salads and entrees. However, our server seemed less than enthusiastic to be serving us. On past visits, our servers were so informative and engaging, describing menu items and making suggestions that were hard to resist. This time we basically had an order taker, we even had to flag him down to order more wine! How does that happen?!?! I NEVER write reviews, but I am making an exception. Benjy's food was fantastic, reservations easy to make, service outstanding. ATTENTION TO DETAIL....unparalleled. I eat out all the time. Benjy's honored my Aunt with a complimentary appetizer that was spectacular and a complimentary chocolate cake dessert that was even better...if possible. I had the seafood & avocado omelette. The lump crab & sauce were great, and the omelette was moist. However, the 'avocado' as listed on the menu was served as guacamole.

We were thoroughly impressed. The food was outstanding! My wife's favorite snack is popcorn, and what appears on our table right away? Popcorn! We were provided a free appetizer because it was our first time there, the goat cheese was fantastic. Our entrees were very good, as well as the dessert. Waitstaff was pretty good, although our waiter failed to put in our appetizer order. The manager however was at our table in minutes to rectify the situation - we ended up having Mom's chocolate cake "on the house". If at all possible recommend to save room for that desert!

I would return, but I'd probably order differently. While our cocktails, salad, and crispy brussels sprouts were an outstanding start to the meal, my crunchy chicken was dry and luke warm when it arrived. I imagine it was probably really good about 8 minutes before it got to the table. My partner's paella was flavorful, but quite different from a conventional paella, with an almost Asian quality to it. We got drinks at the upstairs bar and brought them down when our table was ready and waited a good 10 minutes before anyone came over. I had trouble making up my mind about what to order as there was so much to try. My wife had the goat cheese cakes which she said were outstanding and I had the popcorn shrimp - I still can't believe how much food they give you for appetizers - they're a great value. Both the ravioli and mahi mahi entrees were also fabulous. We really enjoyed dining on the patio and our server Drea was great! By the end of our meal it was a little cool and they could have used heaters but this is just an observation - not a complaint.
