It was a Saturday night so the place was packed but we did not find the noise overwhelming. We had no trouble carrying on a conversation between the two of us. Tables were close but not as close as many other NYC restaurants we've been to. I had a filet mignon which was cooked perfrectly and one of the best I've had. My wife has a 3 lb lobster which was also excellent. We had a Benjamin salad which had ample very large blue crab lump meat in it. I also had the sizzling canadian bacon which was delicious and (almost) too much for one person. My husband had the steak and I had the Chilean Sea Bass. Both were excellent. The portions were not too large. The side orders were just right for one we thought although the waiter said sufficient for two people.

This was the second time we had to wait a while. First time, we waited an hour (had a reservation at 9 and waited until 10 pm) this time we waited 30 minutes.

Had a 7pm reservation on a Wed.- the restaurant was mostly full and we were seated on time. I ordered the Ribeye - it was outstanding and I'm picky when it comes to steaks, especially $46 steaks. Don't know the exact size, but am guessing at least 22oz to 24oz on the bone, cooked perfect medium-rare, great flavor, served hot. My guest had the double cut veal chop which was huge and was told it was also very good. We shared onion rings (large size, very good) and a vegetable. Didn't have any appetizers or dessert (was too full), so can't comment on them. The food is amazing, the staff is awesome and the ambiance is great! Was a repeat customer of Smith and Wollensky but they have fallen and Benjamin now is the place to go for a phenomenal steak or lamb chops!!!!
