Benjamin Steakhouse owner Benjamin Prelvukaj and chef Arturo McLeod have combined over 35 years in the steak house business, 20 of those at the famed Peter Luger's in Brooklyn!

Since the opening of their Midtown Manhattan location in 2006, they have become a Mecca for steak connoisseurs. Now, with this new expansion, they bring the glory straight to the heart of Westchester County.

Benjamin Steakhouse offers juicy cuts of dry-aged beef-from 36-ounce Porterhouses to juicy, tender Ribeyes and succulent Filet Mignon. White Plains' dècor may look familiar to those who have dined at their Manhattan location with their signature dark wood floors, banquette seating, and burgundy booths in tow. The main dining room will also feature an oversized fireplace-a signature of Benjamin Steakhouse from day one.

  • "We visited this restaurant after a NY Yankkes game. It is easy to get to if you are heading to Upstate NY. The menu is the sane as the Benjamin in NYC, so the steaks and chops are fantastic. We started dinner with salads (two wedge and one mesclun) and they were fresh and crispy. They were able to customize the salads to our particular liking. The steaks (NY strip and a rib steak) were done to our liking and the side dishes were plenty big to share. The veal chop was big and tender. We sat out on their patio because the weather was perfect - not too hot and low humidity. We were happy they suggested we try it. It was a memorable evening after a baseball game."

  • "Our family went to Benjamin's for Mother's Day and the menu had a pre-fix. Being that we went the night before Father's Day, I expected a pre-fix menu. That was my mistake. I felt it was expensive even though the food was excellent. So if you are concerned a little about the bill, perhaps you should ask ahead of time."

  • "Decided to try new place on Sat night. Read the reviews and it sounded OK but lots of comments about food and service. They were all right. Steak was so salty it was not edible. Service was rude and arrogant. Bread came and it was as hard as a rock. I could not even cut it with a knife. For these prices I would go to Mortons."

  • "Food was good, presentation of food ok - example ordered the shrimp cocktail and it was just on a plate - you are paying $20 for 3 shrimp cocktail - maybe spruce it up a bit!! service was ok - our waiter was not overly attentive. I was expecting better service, better presentation of food for the amount of money we spent. And my steak was under cooked!"

  • "Waited over ten minutes to place drink order after being seated. Asked waiter about 2 wines and he said "I have no idea, try it". They did not have the first wine we selected so the waiter came back over and said he "went ahead and ordered the other one". Wine was spilled over the glass and on the table while being poured. Crab cakes were tastey. Ordered steak for 2 medium, came out charred black on over 75% of steak. Creamed spinach and mashed potatoes were excellent though. Ordered apple strudel which also came out burned on the bottom and edges. Twice during dinner three waiters gathered near our table on the side of the restaurant and had a loud, heated argument about tables. Found the staff unprofessional and food sub par. "

  • "The steaks were exceptional! They also have fantastic appetizers. The crab cakes are the best I've ever had and my wife said she could go back just for the Lobster Bisque. The potatoes were average at best, we've had the baked potato, the Benjamin potatoes and the cottage fries. All lacked the quality to live up to the steaks and the incredible Wait Staff. I highly recommend Benjamin for a special evening of dining."

  • "We were seated in the section near the bar with TVs showing basketball games. Lighting was quite dark, which emphasized the light from the TVs. I'd say it was quite noisy, it was difficult to hear our conversation. Ordered from the Restaurant Week menu: bowl! of lobster bisque & salad (both good), salmon portion seemed small but was enough for my dinner companion and he said it was good. My steak was good, cooked perfectly medium rare which many restaurants get wrong. It was not overly salty and portion was fine, I took some home. Maybe things were different because it was restaurant week. Maybe we were tired. Was our first time here, we are glad we ate here, food was good, just wasn't wowed."

The quality of the food is consistently excellent; the waiters couldn't be more attentive; and the ambience is delightful. You are well taken care of from the moment that you arrive. Located off the Sprain Pkwy, #287 or Central Avenue, this restaurant is very easy to reach coming from almost anywhere in Westchester County, and well worth the trip. Visit Benjamin's Steakhouse for an evening out. You won't be disappointed."

  • "The NY Strip bone in was average, too salty, no unique steak house flavor. The sides were unimaginative. The lobster bisque had no lobster, The mashed potatoes tasted flat, Creamed spinach was too salty. The service was poor. There were more servers than diners in the room, yet no one checked on our meal, the dirty plates stayed at our table for over twenty five minutes with many servers standing by idly not one person exhibited an overall "glad that we were dining with them feel". Management was not engaged. We won't return to Benjamin's. There are many, many better steakhouse options nearby."

Granted, the food may very well be worth their prices, in NYC, but Hartsdale is a far cry from NYC. Saw they were honoring Restaurant Week specials so figured I would take advantage of the opportunity. My mother and I dined from the RW menu, which may have been a mistake for our first visit. We are both steak lovers and the selection was quite abbreviated. We had the sirloin. Although cooked to my liking there was a lack of flavor. The lobster bisque was great, and the sides were fine. The dessert was most enjoyable. The waiters were very friendly, but service was exceptionally slow, and the restaurant was not busy. I'd expected more"

  • "OK - It was a very busy Saturday night but, if you're going to run an establishment like this, make sure you either have enough help or hire more energized staff. Long waits for drink orders - for wine to be served - for appetizers to arrive - for dinner to be cleared. Not even one query as to whether all was good or if someone wanted another drink. This party of four skipped dessert after 2 1/2 hours from seating to check. The food was good but not spectacular. The sirloin was great. At these prices, however, there are far better steakhouse options in Manhattan for ambience, service and food."

  • "We'd been several times for dinner before and the food and service was excellent. This time it was a mess. Someone else's food was delivered to our table and then taken back only bit by bit. The steaks arrived with some sort of burnt spices. I didn't get my sauce for over 20 minutes after everyone else got their food. We had difficulty getting the attention of the waiters to even get our food and drinks in the first place. Someone in charge offered us some one free (that was good) to apologize, but they also brought us a plate of desserts free to apologize though no one wanted dessert. Then the proceeded to charge us with the desserts. Looks like new owners who have no clue about food or service. Will not go again."

  • "We went on a Friday evening during restaurant week and had an early (5:30) dinner. As it turned out we both ordered the same items - lobster bisque, USDA Prime, and chocolate mousse cake. The food and service were excellent. Our major concern was that the the tables are placed quite close together and that as the evening went on and the restaurant filled up the noise level rose to a rather high level (from moderate to energetic). A minor concern regarding the decor is that the room is rather dark and with the curtains open the contract between light and dark is really rather strong and somewhat disturbing."

  • "We attended dinner on a Thursday place was packed due to the deals. Best part of my meal was the mixed green salad. I ordered a Filet Mignon not only was it super dry, it was super fatty. The sides we ordered were mashed potatoes and creamed spinach, spinach was super salty. Needless to say we will not be back for the next restaurant week! Was really surprised at the disappointing meal. We have heard nothing but positive remarks about Benjamin's! The service was outstanding, but that's about it!"

We dined there during restaurant week and even though packed, the service was excellent, thanks to Vincenzo, our waiter. and the food was quite good. The steaks were cooked perfectly, were tender but a bit over salted. Enjoyed the excellent homemade whipped cream ( a rarity in restaurants ) on the desserts but would have preferred the carrot cake be refrigerated, not served at room temp. We wish the regular menu was more affordable so we could return more often."
