We support as many local distributors as we can by obtaining products from local farms, artisans, boutique food growers, local microbreweries, and play a major role in our community. We do everything on our part to stay green and stay as local and all natural as possible. We bring the downtown… Chicago atmosphere to the north shore without bringing the prices with us. Our focus is to have as many people dine within our Victorian retro surroundings and eat top quality food & drink within a upscale dining atmosphere at a price point that is affordable. "Very good dining experience. All dishes were very fresh & tasty. Instead of bread, they served a soft pretzel type thingy with flavored butter, yum. Hubby had a sushi type appetizer and the salmon entree, he said both were very good. I had the waldorf salad and the beef with lentils entree. Both were excellent. When ordering, waitress said they did not have the Kobe beef entree on the menu but an aged strip steak, I went with it and it was super.

With a bottle of wine, in the $30 range, our tab was a bit over $100. Would return."

"We always enjoy the seasonal menus (3rd visit) and specials. Any chance of adding chicken for the fussier diners (like my adult daughter)? Service has been better on the weekdays than on the busy weekends."

"our experience was outstanding. the reason i did not give it 5 stars was not the restaurant's fault. there was the loudest and most annoying women in the rest. that i have ever encountered. several people asked to be moved away from her table. the manager even ended up saying something to her.
now the good stuff.....the atmosphere is excellent. the food was GREAT! sliced sirlion and our other entree was diver scallops. both dishes were full of flavor and cooked perfectly. the warm pretzel to start with are a nice change from bread. the service was excellent throughout the meal. nice wine list. you are also allowed to take home your unfinished bottle of wine, what a nice thing.
great job. we will retirn!!"

"Our second visit. Our first was back in Nov/Dec of last year. Sorry to report that things havent improved much since then. The ambience and proximity to our home are the primary draws. However, this restaurant fails in a number of ways in an attempting to be "fine dining". The two big things are the service and the food. Both times, we've had the same server and neither time did the place seem terribly busy but in both cases she was not friendly, not helpful and not timely. Also, our table was a repository for our empty plates and glasses. Second, the food, while decent is NOT up to par with what I'd hoped. Presentation is good but flavor is lacking on virtually every dish. In closing, I will say the the price is not too bad. Wont be back."

"Excellent food - varied lineup of great choices. My wife and I split 5 small plates + 1 entree and every choice was terrific and had something unique to offer. In the current/ Spring menu, I highly recommend the scallop, crab salad, duck, and lamb sausage."
