Benihana - WheelingA Classic You Should Try OnceBenihana hasn't changed much from my childhood. You still get the show at the hibachi grill (although most of the chefs are no longer Japanese) and the drinks are good as well. Every group seemed to be having a birthday at their table and they still sing to you in Japanese. We've celebrated birthdays and other occasions here, and never been disappointed. Depending on the number of people you have in your party, elbow room can be a little tight at the grill, but family members shouild be close anyway. The food and show by the chef are first rate, and compare well with any other restaurant serving this type of cuisine. The food is good, and the entertainment is great. Chefs come straight to your table and cook right in front of you. The value is decent, you get a bowl of soup and a small salad to start when ordering an entree. Then, a shrimp and vegetable appetizer, and your meat is the final portion. Also includes a side of rice. You can get fried rice (which is excellent) for a slight upcharge. Drinks are great. We sat with empty drinks for awhile before she returned. She also did not tell my party that fried rice was more money. And at dessert time said we had 6 coming, but did not specify who had dessert as part of the meal. The food was good and enough to satisfy. Everybody in my party seemed happy with their selection. We all enjoy the food made in front of us..even though our chef was missing some of our food and had to leave to get it.
