Benihana - Troy1st time visitorThis was the first time visiting for both mymyself and my mom. The food was delicious but I wish they had said when we ordered that fried rice was extra. We would have ordered it anyways but the bill was a bit shocking for two people!

When we arrived at 5pm we were told that they were seating in order of people arriving. It was Mothers day and they were seating the large groups first and filling in with the two's. It was extremely loud. We didn't get seated until 6pm, service was extremely slow. It was after 7:30 before we finished. Not a good place to be on a holiday.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Family AffairEven though the prices were not accommodating to most family night budgets the splurge was definitely worth it. The wait staff was energetic and kind. The experience of having a chef cook your food on grill in front of you is great. The look on my kids faces as Chef John created the onion volcano was great. So I tried you'll location and it was good, the sushi was banging and the crowds was very energetic. The only thing was the cook at our table was not talking and he didn't cut the food up correctly. I also liked when he stated what the ingredients were as he was adding them to the dishes on the hot plate table. He also did not mind if pictures were taken. The sushi appetizers were awesome too!

I normally go to the one in Northville because of convenience but I was dining with my boyfriend & this is his favorite one. Our reservation was for 5pm. We arrived about 15 minutes early and the hostess suggested a drink at the bar while waited. We proceeded to the bar to get a drink and were told the bar isnt open yet and wont be open until 5. Our initial reaction was that it wouldn't have been an inconvenience to take 2 minutes to grab us a couple of beers (he wasnt doing much more than standing around chit-chatting), but we understood and accepted it. However, less than 2 minutes later my fiance pointed out to me that the patrons who arrived directly behind us were served drinks immediately after we left the bar area. The food is very healthy for the most part, but I always make sure to get a box for the non-perishable (non-raw) sushi since I cannot eat the whole meal! My friend took me there for my birthday in February, I came home and shared my experience with my son and husband. So therefore, my husband and I brought my son their for his birthday. My son really enjoyed the food and wants to go again soon, but my husband did not like the fact that we had to sit with people that we did not know.
