I was not expecting to be sitting with random people and the room was kind of overcrowded! Overall It was a great first time experience and I would definitly reccommend it to people that enjoy this type of enviroment6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMfamily funOur evening at Benihana exceeded my expectations - the kids (ages 6 and 9) had a great time watching the chef prepare the dinner right at our table, and they loved trying the chopsticks and trying the new foods. I brought my daughter who was visiting from TN and my son. We had a blast! Best sushi we have ever had! Great cook who mad the experience awesome! I've been to other Benihana's and the cooks aren't as enthused as ours was! I can go on and on and on about Short Hills Benihana! We are going back for Father's Day! The only downside are the prices. I understand the entree prices, but drinks and "add ons" are very over priced :(
$4 for a barely half cup of side noodles, or fried rice. I also feel soda refills should be unlimited when spending $150 for a 3 person meal. BUT it's the BEST food you will ever eat! There always seem to be a lot of unruly children there - this sounds like I don't like kids which is far from the case. As two adult couples looking to relax and visit, it felt like we were in the middle of the McDonald's play yard.
