  • "At a dining facility like this with its reputation, it was extremely disappointing in the staff that was there. It felt more like they hired staff fit for your local Denny's restaurant. Staff coming to and from work through the front door half dressed, staff delighting in "break room talk" in the public dining areas, extremely poor welcoming and goodbyes, staff that speak to diners (though nicely) with language and vocabulary that was unprofessional (I almost felt like I was at a high school). The overall experience was actually quite poor. If it wasn't for the food, I would have rated this a one star experience. There are other Tepanyaki places I will be taking my money to enjoy. It was unfortunately a wasted experience."

  • "I asked for Elena because she had great reviews on Yelp. She did not disappoint us! She may very well be the best chef as far as flavor and taste goes! I didnt even use any dipping sauces! She was very professional as well as fun. She really made our dinner a memorable one. I highly recommend Elena! Great job Elena! Don't change anything! Our server was also top notch!   • "The reason to go to Benihanas? For the food...YES! For the ambience...YES! The main reason to go though is to be entertained by the chef who prepares your food! All the chefs like to perform certain tricks that showcase their skills. This time we were amazed by something we had never seen before. A transfer of rice in midair from bowl to bowl! You are amazing Chef Adam!!!"

  • "First time attending this location, I was made to wait 20 mins until the actual reservation time, although there were plenty of tables available. This didn't bother me as much as how the hostess behaved, it seems to me that they are to carefree, in the time I was there I heard personal phone calls and personal visits from family members. I'm not against this, but not during the time that the dinner rush is about to start. Or why not take a break and handle personal business on your own time. We had to wait while the hostess introduced her mother to staff, other than that chef and waitress were great but I think I will stick to my usual at Puente Hills Benihana."

  • "This Benihana location is still fairly new. It looks nice and the staff is friendly but I do not plan to return anytime soon, given all the other options in or near Arcadia. The chefs prepare great food but are still learning to do the trademark type things you normally expect of a Benihana chef (flipping things, making patterns on the grill, etc.). The wait staff has a long way to go - they were very slow (20 minutes) to bring out drinks even when the restaurant was less than half full. I don't mind paying for a good meal at a known restaurant like this, but when the service is that slow and/or when you have noisy young children nearby it changes the equation for me. If I want that kind of noise I'll go to the nearest MacDonalds."

  • "We celebrated Father's day there and our Chef was a nightmare. His poor sap needs to go back and be retrained! He forgot the eggs when making our chicken fried rice. He left all the ingredients in the back and either had to ask the wait staff or leave his station and run to the back to get the items he was missing, which were several! He could not cook the meats to the proper temperatures, he gave my appetizer to my family member so I missed on an appetizer since I did not want to take it from there plate. His tricks/show were horrible, he was not even at amateur level. It took him an hour and a half just to cook all our food. The only good thing/person was our waiter!"

  • "The hostesses working on June 10th were atrocious. I called in for directions and was told your restaurant was located near Macy's. As I was injured, I called so I didn't have to walk the entire mall, but I did anyway. Once I got there the told me that they didn't hav my reservation I called in 2 hours before. They claimed that it was because the system went down but it was ridiculous. I also had 2 wait another 45 minutes to be seated."

Perhaps they are understaffed...we've been here twice this month and both times, we needed to remind our wait staff of requests and both times, they forgot to offer us the complimentary ice cream that comes with the meal. This is not a big deal, but not as good as I would expect for what you pay for the meal."

  • "The food was awesome but the service wasn't great. After we were seated, ate salad and soup, the chef came after 50 mins of being seated. Was also slow in cooking our items. The waitress at our table pretty much disappeared after serving our drinks and really didn't check in to see what we needed. The saving grace was the meal.thats it."

  • "BeniHana was good and fun for my sister's birthday. The Filet Mignon and Scallops I had were enjoyable, however, they cooked them sequentially. I like my meal to come out with everything all at once. The soup and salad are ok to come out first, however, I like my main course to come all together. So this was definitely a negative for me and the family. It was my sister's birthday and they were very nice to her and gave her a coupon to come back for $30 off her next visit. They gave her a piece of birthday cake. Also, we had nice people that we sat with who also had a birthday; they had ordered a special birthday cake and shared that with us as well... which was very nice. Overall, I would say it was an enjoyable night. "

  • "We were a party of 10 for Mother's Day we had reservations service was great the wait was not very long at all considering Mother's Day the worst day to go out to eat of course. Our chef was was the greatest if you have a chance ask for Hokie you won't be disappointed. The manager Joe was on top of everything trying to make certain everybody was taken care of and he did a great job. I even met the regional manager who used to be the manager of Encino making sure everything went as smooth as possible for everyone. It's hard when you start a brand-new restaurant but they come along way give them a second chance because I did and I'm happy. Management really has changed and is making difference great job!!"

  • "We arrived for our reservation early and was told 1hr wait we were seated 2hrs later The hostess told us diff stories every time we checked w/ her. After getting seated our server was terrible the table that got seated 10+ mins after us had drinks soup salad and a Chef before we even got salad. Our table wasnt set with Napkins. Our Chef had to get us forks to eat. Our server took 40mins and the order was still wrong THE ONLY GOOD PART ABOUT OUR OUTING WAS ELLENA,Chef! She went out of her way 2 make thing right she left things went downhill bc our now 3rd server couldnt get our chk right after I explained 3x which meals went on which check. My lil sister had to leave b4 the food came bc it took so long. the mgr n the gray suit wasnt sincere"

  • "We decided to go to Benihana for Mother's Day and had a really easy time making a reservation a week in advance. Henry was our chef and he was great! Very entertaining and spoke to us frequently. The food is always good. I tried their Benihana Special (Chateaubriand beef and lobster tail). The steak was great. Very tender and he cooked it to my liking. I had to take some food home because there was just too much to eat. I wish I had asked for their sauces though because that really adds to the flavor of the meal. Overall wonderful lunch for the 7 of us."
