  • "I went to Benihana for my sisters birthday. There was a group of 8 of us. I made reservations weeks in advance to ensure that there would not be any issues. We took 2 cars to the restaurant and my car arrived 1st. We checked in and confirmed the reservation and they said they would seat us as soon as the rest of the party arrived. I said great "They'll be here in 10 minutes max". 10 minutes later, the 2nd half of our group arrived. I walked back over to the host and said 'We are all here now" and the response was "Oh we gave your table away, it'll be about a 45 minute wait". I have only a few characters left to write--long story short---they'll give your table away if your entire party doesn't show up within 10 minutes of your reservation."

  • "Took my mom there for her bday. Disappointed that the grill had food on it from previous party. Asked host to take care of it, said he would, but never did. Cook finally cleaned it when he started but it was gross. Took picture for birthday but half the photo was blurred. Food was good but I expected better from this place after paying $180."

  • "My family loves Benihana for birthday dinners. If you join their Chef's Table club they send you a gift certificate for your meal. The hibachi food is excellent, but I recommend the dinner boat from the bar(you can order at a hibachi). It is different every month but always has sushi, soup and salad included along with the special of the month."

  • "We went here for Hibachi und Sushi. We got seated around 8.40pm, Hibachi chef didn't get to our table to 9.30pm... so we mostly spent there, sitting at our table and waiting. Salmon was cooked very dry, so didn't even finish it. It's fun to go to a Hibachi, but they need to hire more Hibachi chefs for a Saturday dinner. We mostly had to sit and wait til a chef was available to get to our table. Loved the green tea ice cream - that was delicious."

  • "We've been to many hibachi restaurants, but probably won't be returning here for a meal. It seed a bit overpriced for the small portions we received and they also didn't have the lo-mein course. Instead they served as stack of grilled onions. Not many people I know can eat and enjoy straight onions on a plate."

  • "Great experience! This is a fun and vibrant restaurant. Family, couple(s) and solo outings are recommended. The food is delicious and it's great to watch the Chefs at work right in front of you. I've been to Benihana several times and I've always enjoyed myself. I highly recommend trying some of their Saki and when asked if you want to upgrade to the chicken fried rice just essay "Yes". All in All a great meal awaits you if you decide to give your taste buds a treat at Benihana."

  • "This was my second time at Benihana. I went once before and wasn't thrilled but thought id give it another try. This experience was sub par. Our reservations were at 815, however we weren't served a drink or even water until close to 9. We had our 11 year old son with us who enjoyed watching them cook, but there was no interaction with him or any of us for that matter. I ordered salmon with mango salsa. The served asked how I wanted it cooked which was the first time I had heard that. I told him medium well. When my salmon was severed it was light pink (cooked) but when I cut it, it was a deep pink (almost raw)inside. The salsa had ONE piece of mango, while the rest was water and cucumbers. Lastly, dinners were served at different times."

  • "My family took me to the Plymouth Meeting, PA site( part of an 85 Y.O birthday celebration). I was astonished as I walked into the restaurant. The outside was so misleading. I found a warm, friendly, amicable atmosphere. We were there for an early seating, therefore, very few diners had arrived. This soon changed. Patrons entered almost in mass, but the ambiance remained quiet. The chef was out standing not only with his culinary skills, but also as an entertainer. The food was delicious, well prepared,very sufficient in quantity. and affordably priced. ALL IN ALL, I had a great time and now look forward to my next visit."

  • "I invited 9 of my girlfriends to Benihana, because I've eaten there before and I felt it would be a fun evening. Our Chef did not disappoint. A couple of the ladies had never been there and they Loved it. As for the rest of us, we were entertained and our meal was delicious. My only negative comment would be for that the waitress spoke /understood English more fluently, this would be a little more helpful for newcomers. Fortunately I have been to your restaurant in the past, several times, and was able to explain the menu, which in itself is a little confusing. Overall I would highly recommend the Plymouth Meeting Benihana and will be returning for another reasonably priced, extremely entertaining evening."

The fish itself is good, but the knife skills is terrible and the rolls are not put together properly. Very inconsistent. That's said I really like the wait staff and front of house folks."

Then we still had some confusion on what we asked for. Other then that, the food was good,all though the portions are small, and the service at the table was fine."

  • "I haven't eaten at this Benihana location in app 2 yrs because of previous bad experiences. I was skeptical going back this time but was pleasantly surprised to see it under new management and a new staff. The service was so much better and the wait staff was very attentive. My mother had a birthday certificate and they were very accommodating. They even gave her a free ice cream dessert and took a picture of us for a souvenir. The last time I was at this location and had a birthday certificate, the waitstaff was rude and they never took a picture or offered a free dessert. When I complained about the service in a review I never heard anything back from the restaurant. I'm glad that they are back on track and I would go again!"

  • "Food and service were very good. There was a large group of junior high age girls at table next to ours celebrating a birthday. They were loud to say the least to the point that accompanying adults( sitting at another table) apologized. If we had known we may have changed plans. Have been to Benihana's in other locations and never had this experience."

  • "When informed that I was being taken to Benihana, I had high hopes for the quality of my experience. When all was said and done, I certainly did not feel cheated. The food was absolutely delicious and on par with some of the best meals I have had. In addition, the occasion of dining was resolutely welcoming and comforting, the staff was personable and understanding. I definitely plan to go back to Benihana in the near future."

  • "This was our third time at Benihana for dinner, and our second Valentine's Day meal here. The food is on the pricey side, but when you eat hibachi, you pay for the show as much as the meal itself. The onion soup is good (a nice change from miso), but not my favorite. The salad, shrimp appetizer, fried rice, and vegetables were all delicious. They do a good job not over-seasoning the food--just some oil, butter, garlic, and soy sauce. I ordered scallops and filet while my husband got a seafood trio--shrimp, scallops, and lobster. It would have been a five star meal, but our hibachi chef seemed new and sometimes unsure of himself. All of the food, however, was delicious."

  • "The server didn't check in regularly, so we had to chase her down for drinks, the check, trying to pay, etc. The hibachi chef didn't engage the group like other chefs I've had at this location (I know they generally don't have as high a skill level on the entertainment as some of the other locations, but this one didn't even attempt things like tossing the shrimp, catching an egg in the hat, etc.). Then he kept messing up the orders. I was served someone else's dish (on the plate from which I'd already been eating). He was missing the ingredients to make everyone's food. It was the first time my friend had been to a Benihana and it was a pretty poor experience for her. Can't beat the location, though, if you're heading to a movie next door."

  • "This place was great! The atmospher was very relaxing and the food was fresh with plenty of vegtables. I would recommend this place for any special occasion or for a family bonding night out. My boyfriend and I went for our Valentines weekend dinning out experience and we both loved the menus options. He chose a steak option and I had a the Benihana shrimp that I also recommend! I only wish that we had our own chef. The was another couple on the opposite side of us at the same table that engaged in a long conversation with our chef, which was slightly awkward for us, but the food was still great no the less. I would have paid extra for our own private table."

  • "I gooned up the opentable reservation and made a Saturday reservation instead of Friday. The management was accommodating and got us in anyway. I really appreciate their help with this. The hostess was very kind and courteous and made nice small talk with our 5 year old son. It went down hill from there. 1st, When I asked the host for a crayon or pencil for our son and he handed me a golf pencil without even looking at me? Then, I think the chef may have been new. He seemed a little disorganized and easily flustered. He forgot my wife's shrimp though he had the orders in front of him and reviewed it several times. Overall a good experience, a nice show for our son and good food. Eventually my wife chilled out and I cheered her up."

  • "I would write an in depth review of my terrible experience but open table doesn't allow enough characters to properly describe it, so in short our experience included a cramped table, flat soda, a reduced Valentines menu with zero non meat entrees, A chef that began to cook for the wrong table, portions of my wife's meal were missing and they had the nerve to charge extra for fried rice with a $32 entree. Needless to say, I will not be back."
