Since Benihana first opened its doors in Ontario in 1998 it has remained one of the Inland Empire's premier restaurants to gather with friends, family and business associates. The very design of the building evokes images of a trip to Japan, and within the senses are filled with the delightful experience that awaits. Twenty-two teppan tables set the stage for fun where your own personal chef prepares a meal of steak, chicken, seafood and vegetables all cooked to perfection right before your eyes. Sushi appetizers can be ordered in the dining room or a whole sushi feast can be enjoyed in the sushi bar which offers an array of creative seafood tastes. Located just off the 10 Freeway near Ontario International Airport and five minutes from the Ontario Convention Center. Open daily. Plenty of off-street parking.Continued

  • "My mom is handicapped, in a wheelchair and on oxygen. It is a struggle going out and about. We did not want the big hour and a half, dinner and a show that they usually have when you eat at their normal tables. I wanted to sit in the lounge and get good food before we went to see Cher at Citizen's Bank Arena. I sent that information into them when I made this reservation yet we were not accommodated at all. "Lounge is first come first serve." Then I had to move my own chair across the bar to get two together so we could eat, the menu I was given was completely filthy with dark brown smudges and it made everything seem less appealing. The wait staff in the lounge was so inept, the sushi chef even snapped at him. Food was good."

  • "We had reservations at 6:45pm and we checked in. The host said we'd be seated shortly, but 7:25pm came around and we checked on our reservations again. She admitted we were skipped and apologized. The manager was near, overheard and provided a complimentary appetizer. It was a nice gesture. The group we sat with and the chef we had made it all better."

  • "We have celebrated many occasions at Benihana's but this visit was disappointing. We didn't have cloth napkins and had to ask for paper ones. The kitchen did have the correct amount of chicken or shrimp on the cart so our chef had to order more but didn't cook it till the end so we were waiting for that. And the final thing was we were not offered tea which I didn't notice till I was eating ice cream and were ready to go."

  • "I took my husband and my two boys to benihana for Father's Day. It was really crowded, but I had reservations so they sat us right away. We sat next to another family of four. We all waited for our show/food to begin, but it took a while. I was very disappointed with the show. There was no interaction between the chef and any of the guests. Our chef can barely speak english and had no eye contact with any of us. The food was overpriced! It seriously costs just as much as an upscale steakhouse and flavor is totally lacking. I order the chicken and shrimp. My meal consist of one piece of chicken breast, five jumbo shrimp, white rice, and priced at $26!!! Husband order the lobster, scallop, and fried rice. He was left unsatisfied."

  • "My family and I have been dining out at Bennihana for over 20 years. This Father's Day dinner was the most outrageous bad experience we ever experienced. From the poor service, continuance wrong food being delivered to not getting food we ordered having food served to us and having to ask three times to get eating utensils, the list goes on and on. Not enough room to type. We had to get up three times from our table to talk to a manager. So unacceptable. There were apologies, but the errors kept ongoing. A detalied letter of our experience will be going to Bennihana corporate office ASAP."

  • "We came as a family and have a great time. Cook accommodated our food allergies. Everything was great till we got the bill. I paid by credit card but didn't want the tip on my card. My husband put cash on the table, the waitress actually YELLED at us that we HAVE to leave a tip because she needs to tip her cook. Very disappointed that the waitstaff feels entitled to argue with a customer. We don't spend $200 on a meal followed by being treated like a child lightly. Unfortunately we will not ever be returning to your restaurant."

Why come if you don't want the experience. They talk on phones while the chef is cooking and make ridiculous requests with their food. It's definitely not the restaurants fault. However, my family will not be returning. It's too much money to spend for special occasions to have your dinner and ambiance ruined by nasty people seated at your table."

  • "As always we enjoy our meals here and never leave hungry!! I have been to many restaurants of like kind but none have the quality or quantity of food to go along with great service. The only thing I would say is that if you are looking for an intimate setting this might not be for you. It can be a bit loud and if the crowd gets into it along with the chef at your table making for a pretty fun evening of good food and drink. If you like sushi, Benihana's is great if you like to watch great food prepared in front of you its even better."

  • "We visit the Rancho Cucamonga location all the time (every month) so it's pretty easy to say we love it. The filet mignon steaks this recent visit were probably 1 1/2 inches thick - the best I've seen. The lobster was so fresh. The Chefs have really up'd their games in terms of interaction and overall entertainment. But the best part of this night was a lovely woman named ALICE (waitress) who saw us from clear across the restaurant and came over on her break to bring us a small free appetizer because she appreciates seeing us so often. Wow. Her hospitality is unique in so many ways so between the food and the people - you can't go wrong with this Benihana location. Superb."

  • "As much as I love the food here it takes forever. Our reservation was for 5pm, didn't get seated till 5:15pm and by the time we payed the bill it was 7pm. I have learned now that I can't be in a rush as it takes about two hours from start to finish. I have never been disappointed with the food or service though."

I told her all 3 couples at the table were there for their birthday and we came for a fun time. I asked for another chef but nothing was done. Not a great show. No value added."

  • "Better than last time, entertaining chef. Placed at a table with a large group, not cool. They were loud and obnoxious, getting drunk, shouting across to each other. Again felt rushed at the end by waitress. Right after chef finished cooking she appeared with containers and bags for leftovers. Clearly told her I didn't want green tea until I finished eating. At least this time they didn't automatically add an 18% tip due to use of a birthday certificate and weren't sweeping up around our table. Some lessons learned. "
