Benihana - Memphisgreat Mother's Day mealMy husband took the family to Benihana for a Mother's Day lunch- it was a blast. It was the first time my kids (1 and 4) had been there and they loved the show. Wait staff was very accommodating of my little ones, including bringing a high chair, sippy cups, and not turning up their noses when we didn't order anything for the baby. We had a great table, too- looking out the window over a pretty grassy area. We were a party of nine; which included his Grandmother, great aunt, mother, sister, brother, two aunts, an uncle and a family friend. We were all very proud of Devon. I had the Benihana Trio which is filet mignon, chicken breast, and colossal shrimp combined. The filet mignon and shrimp were exceptional and the chicken breast was very good. I should have gotten the vegetable fried rice that my girlfriend got because after tasting some of hers going back to my white rice was sooooo disappointing. I made due by mixing my white rice with some of the meats and mushrooms that I was given, however.
While I loved the decor and intimacy of the show that the chefs put on I did feel a bit weird sharing the seating area with other couples. We were a bit packed in and it didn't allow for any meaningful 1-on-1 time with my significant other.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat!!Our server, (I don't remember her name) was very nice. After that it was great. Chef was humorous while also delicately cooking the food. Food was FanTastic! Had the firecracker roll (9/10) and the hibachi shrimp mango (8/10). Vegatables w/ Shrimp could of been cooked longer. Other than that the shrimp was fantastic, fried rice was amazing, green tea was warm and humble.
