Diner Reviews
  • "Manny did a great job. Very personable. Love this place"

  • "When our daughter said she wanted to come here for her birthday we were surprised, of all the wonderful restaurants - Benihana? Well we are eating our words. The staff from hostess to waiter to chef were wonderful. The food is delicious and very reasonable. I love that Benihana is a dining experience and not just dinner out. I highly recommend Benihana and if you are going to Las Colinas , ask for Danny for your waiter and Luis for your chef - 5 Stars!"

  • "Our waiter was amazing. Ive had him before and he is very attentive to detail with a great personality."

  • "I heard nothing but good news about Benihana's, however the chairs are too close together. I could almost feel the person next to me breathing. The tables are too small. We had to keep adjusting our dinnerware to accommodate each other. And lastly being a southern belle flavor is a big deal, and the food was bland. Disappointed LADinner"

  • "If you want to have fun and grab a show while eating and you don't mind to be social with strangers than this place it perfect. Energetic loud fun and great atmosphere."

  • "I went here for my birthday, because I knew they had the Endless Sushi. It's nearly $30, but considering what all accompanies the meal, not including the Sushi (3 rounds, up to 5 rolls per round) it's actually quite the bargain! They were courteous as could be, made great recommendations, and went out of their way to apologize for how long it took. The place was busy, so it was understandable, and it wasn't the sushi chef's being slow, it was just THAT busy. Do I recommend this place? Absolutely! This place is top notch in my book! One of the best dining experiences, so much so we were still talking about it the night after."

  • "Staffing appears to have become an issue. There was no one at the front desk. They were short of servers. Our server spoke very poor English. He was clearly fluent in Spanish. He also lacked fundamental training or courtesies. Management was different than in the past. Customers were jammed into tables so eating space was limited.. However, there were plenty of open tables. The only saving grace was that the chef was someone who has cooked for us before and he was excellent."

  • "The vegetables are sorely lacking from their dishes. My wife and I each received a very small serving of zuchinni. Then the chef prepared the protein in my meal alone and served it to me. There were 4 others at the table. After I had finished my zuchinni, protien and rice the chef then grilled some onions and mushrooms and put them on my plate. Who wants to eat grilled mushrooms and onions 10 minutes after the meal has been eaten. We were so disappointed with our experience that we have no plans to ever dine in this establishment again."

  • "Anytime we are in the Dallas area we always stay in Las Colinas just because of Benihana's! Food is always superb."

  • "I would definitely recommend you make a reservation before going, it can get extremely crowded really fast anytime after 5pm. The distance is in a central location between Dallas and Fort Worth so it was about a 35 minute drive for us. When we arrived the wait was a few minutes we chose a 5pm dining time. Our cook was Marco/Marcus He was absolutely awesome! This was our families first time visiting, and it was for my husbands birthday. Our waiter was Allen/Alex he was extremely polite and knowledgeable. Marco was very entertaining, our food was so good throughout the entire meal. Each course was wonderful."

  • "Luis was the absolute BEST....every piece of food from the veggies to the meat was ON POINT and seasoned PERFECTLY!! I would definitely recommend this restaurant and THIS SPECIFIC CHEF to anyone!"

  • "The different chefs have their own tricks to entertain, it was fun, the first foods that are cooked in the show will be cooled down by the time the last foods are cooked, maybe serving in heatef deeper bowls might keep the food hotter longer . Great Show ! Defiantly a place for a party !"

  • "Horrible reservation list. No need to take reservations if tables aren't ready at the time of the parties reservation"

  • "We have been to Benihana's before, but this was our 1st visit to this location. A bit pricy for what you get, but we enjoyed the well prepared tasty food and the unique dining experience. It was Valentine's Day when we visited there, so they were extremely busy. We would consider returning on a lesser busy day."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "I was not impressed. Granted, I went on Valentine's Day and they only had a specific Valentine's Day menu that you had to choose from. The waiter was having several problems understanding simple orders that the other guests wanted, including drinks. It took quite a while to actually get a refill, but was very quick to deliver the check to get us out of there. Other than the experience of sitting at the table where they cook your food, I see no difference in paying $60 here and $25 at a sushi/hibachi buffet (Ninja Sushi in Arlington, for example)."

  • "We went on Valentine's evening which may make a difference. Unfortunately, the experience was such that I'm not sure I'd like to try again on a regular night. We ordered from a limited menu because we were told that it made things go faster. Our meals were about $30 apiece, which was cheap in comparison to some of the meals offered, so many at our table ordered the same thing. Here's where the charm is lost. Because of where we were seated, we got the last two portions of whatever was being doled out- rice, shrimp, etc- so we got the scraps after our chef gave hearty helpings to the first few diners. What we ate was certainly not worth $60. The showmanship was nice, but I'd rather share my food with my date only if I choose to share at all."

  • "Great place to go with friends and family for an enjoyable evening. The food is outstanding. The fried rice is the best I have had."

  • "Hadn't been to a Benihana's before (been to similar places, but not the actual place) and I was pleasantly surprised on how delicious it was. Our waitress was great, very friendly and catered to us. Appetizers were out quickly (salad / soup). Refills on drinks were always there. We ordered their amazing bowl, forget the name, but it was an alcoholic beverage and it was great. $15 for a huge bowl that you shared with another. Definitely worth the money. The filet was outstanding, I've been to many top notch steak restaurants and this filet can compete with those in terms of flavor and juiciness. I would definitely come back again."

  • "We went here for my birthday with high expectations and Were completely let down. First, the door staff was very rude; second, the food was mediocre at best. I think we will stick to Jinbeh in Lewisville from now on."

  • "Took my daughter here for her birthday celebration. Our waiter never smiled - not once. Our chef mumbled and was barely audible. No "show" as expected with the food preparation. Very overpriced for what we ordered. Most of us ordered chicken. Will not go here again."

  • "A very solid hibachi experience. The sushi was remarkable, our meals were delicious, and our experience was enjoyable."

  • "Normally I would give food 5 stars....as always have before. This time my chicken was a little dry and over cooked, but, this is definitely the exception! I love dining here"

  • "We went here for something different however it didn't exactly hit the spot. We sat down & it took a while before anyone came back & when the waiter finally came he said something about he was covering due to something happening to our waiter so it was like giving us a heads up that the service was going to be less than expected. The cook did the whole clanging on the grill but flare he lacked. Drinks were slow coming to the table which were told the bar was slammed. Overall the food was par - everything tasted like it was over cooked & the steak, which was suppose to be filet mignon tasted funky which the manager graciously worked with us but for the cost, can't say we will be back anytime soon."

  • "Once my party was seated, it was at least 30 minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence and took our drink order. It was then another additional 30 minutes, at least, before the chef arrived. It was the worst service I've ever experienced at any restaurant. No amount of great ambience or food can make up for bad service, but it was my first time there. I am willing to give them another chance."

  • "We chose Benihana Las Colinas for our New Year's Eve (2013/14) dinner. Chef Miquel was pretty good although he is not oriental. Table service was timely and accurate. I noticed several previous reviews mentioned issues with reservations. We did not experience any issues with having to wait a prolonged time for seating. Our overall experience was delightful, entertaining, and timely. It is not unusual for my wide and I to eat out multiple times during the week. Honestly, the food selection and taste are average. What you go to Benihana's for is the entertainment. Where else can you go and be rewarded with a dinner and a show for a reasonable price. Bravo Miquel and keep up the good work Las Colinas."

  • "Benihana: They had my reservation for 7. I expect to be seated by 7:30 at the latest with the reservations. They said reservation means they can accommodate me whenever people ahead of me are taken care of, so at 8:30 PM, my guest and I left thinking well what is the point of reservations. They said NONE. They said take your business elsewhere. I am surprised business like this are still in business. They were rude, arrogant and had zero customer service attitude towards anyone. One of the worst places!. My fortune 500 company will do our business else where for sure"

  • "We made this reservation and still had to wait.... for a while! the service was slower than the usual slow here. Not the first time. Food is always good, but service leaves a lot to be desired."

  • "We wanted to experience outside of holiday dining. Very attentive guest service team. Seating was intimate with adequate spacing from other diners. Definitely priced for the experience of having Chef prepare your meal. Food was terrific and the smile on my love's face was worth it."

  • "We go to Benihanas at least 7 times a year, however this time was the worst. The food was very bland and the chef did not put on a good show (yawn). Also the waiter did not provide great svc & he forgot about a Birthday we were celebrating, very sad that he had to be reminded."

  • "We celebrated a family birthday at Benihana's recently opened Las Colinas location. Unless you've been living on a deserted island, dining hibachi-style is no longer an exotic curiosity but is as familiar as pizza or sushi. You won't find a grand culinary inspiration, just steak, fish, and shrimp cooked on a flat top with a side of rice, onion, and zucchini; all pleasantly seasoned and prepared by a knife wielding chef who cracks more jokes than eggs and makes dining a show more than a meal. This is not the place to come for a gourmet repast, but it is a great place for a family occasion or celebration. The staff is adept, the service is prompt and friendly, and the atmosphere is causal but upscale. All in all--good food and fun."
