Wasn't the place for our special occasion. Ginji Japanese Steakhouse in Novi Michigan was so much nicer. Their Chefs knew how to make it interesting and unforgettable. The best Japanese Steakhouse ever is Sekura in Toledo, Ohio."

  • "Don't bother making reservations - better yet, don't waste your time on this trashy establishment.I made reservations for 7pm.At 730pm my husband went to check on our table and was rudely told that they were still getting it ready.He went back and sat down, when the manager informed him that,"Even if you have a reservation, it could take 1 - 1.5 hours".Then asked him very rudely,"What do you expect me to do, kick people out of their tables?"After reading other reviews, it is apparent that he doesn't know what having a reservation entails. Oh, another tip, speaking to my husband or anyone in my party in the tone he used and the way he chose to address their obvious mistake in scheduling, will absolutely make me leave. We won't be back."

  • "My family and I usually like this restaurant but it was horrible this time! It was father's day and we arrived 15 minutes early. When seated we didn't even get a chance to look at the menu before the waitress expected us to order, and we had to ask her 3 times to bring our kid's food. My husband ordered his steak medium and it was cold and raw inside but the cook had cleaned up and left before he could say anything. Also we had barely started eating before our waitress brought out boxes for leftovers. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure this is the last time we will eat here."

  • "We have had dinner at this location several times over the past 4 years and this time some notable things have found us looking for a new Japanese Steakhouse. First, the ambiance leaves something to be desired. A bit more authenticity would be nice, especially in the Chef department. Secondly, although our Chef was okay, he used an amazing amount of butter in every item and then seasoned it heavily with salt and pepper. Having dined at several other of these types of establishments around the country, I have never seen so much drowning of the food."

  • "We had a 7:00 reservation and arrived on time. We were told they were a little behind and it would be 15 minutes. After 40 minutes we asked how much longer and our name was no longer on their list. Ugh! They did offer us a free appetizer for the mistake. Then when it was time for the chef to start cooking our food the table top was not turned on and we had to wait another 15 minutes for it to hear up. My kids and I were so hungry and upset that we wanted to leave. When the food was cooked it was good but too many mistakes. We didn't leave till 10 pm. A 3 hour dinner was not how I wanted to spend my Mother's Day."

  • "My favorite. Everyone enjoyed the cooks show. They accommodated my vegetarian friend nicely. In a previous visit they failed to honor a gift card for which I paid $90 cash for my daughter. Their electronic history of the card showed the date of the $90 payment, specified that there had been no transactions against the card and erroneously stated that the card had a zero balance. Corporate dismissed our complaint. Kim Farmington Hills did her best to remedy the issue but I ended up having to spend another $190 in order to get a $90 credit only bill. Overall highly unsatisfactory and unethical. The only reason I continue to visit Benihana is that it is my daughter and her husband's favorite. "

  • "Our "chef" did a nice job, but forgot the shrimp appetizer that comes with most meals. She served it at the end, which really didn't matter except that she didn't do the traditional "shrimp tail in the hat" trick. There were 2 children at our table who would've enjoyed that. Otherwise, food was good...steak, shrimp. You get plenty of food (soup, salad, rice) along with the main entree. We had enough leftover for lunch the next day!"

  • "Had a wonderful time and a wonderful chef. He cooked my chateaubriand PERFECTLY! He was entertaining and very friendly. My party enjoyed him immensly! The chef's name was Carlos and he was simply the best. Our only issue was that it was extremely hot in the restaurant. But after a few complaints, they turned on the central air and it was a little more comfortable."
