Benihana - DallasGreat Birthday DinnerOur Chef was entertaining and personable. He engaged all of the members of our party during the presentation. The wait staff was very attentive and the food was delicious.
I had mentioned that it was my husbands birthday and they were very accommodating and were more than happy to embarrass him with a song and an ice cream sundae for desert.

It was easy to converse. Food was tremendous and unique. We are VERY glad we tried the fired rice like the server receommended - everyone at the table commented on how unique and tasteful it was.
One of the orders at our table was messed up, but the server appropriately offered to adjust our bill (no hard feelings). But, upon inspection, we saw that she did not actually adjust our bill after offering to do so. Also, she charged the drinks from another table to our bill. In both cases, she seemed very embarrassed and did finally correct the bill. The food was delicious (although too much of it!), and the service was very good. Our chef was a great entertainer! The filet mignon with mushrooms was excellent, the vegetables and fried rice were tasty, and the plum wine was a delightful treat. One in our party was celebrating a birthday, and he received an ice cream sundae with a candle and Happy Birthday sung in Japanese. Especially nice was looking out on a beautiful. lush green landscape instead of acres of concrete as in most Dallas restaurants! The Dallas location is by far one of my favorites. You get the usual soup and salad with every entree but what makes the food so good is the garlic butter that goes in everything. I wish I could buy some. All the servers and chefs are nice and very attentive. Not only do I come back for the food, but I come back for the great service. I usually request to be sat in Mang's section because he always makes sure everything is perfect. The performing chefs are very talented and make for a truly memorable dining experience, and the food is delicious. Something about being able to watch it being made, from scratch, enhanced the taste for me. It was a Tuesday night, so I was not too surprised that it was not crowded at all. The service was excellent and food as good as I remembered. Only two things about the ambiance I wish had been different. My date had been to the orient a hand full of times and she made the comment about how Benihana's landscaping was not a beautiful as the Oriental gardens over in the real orient. I immediately noted to myself that I remembered when it did look outstanding here too. Since it was just me and my husband it kinda seemed like we were crammed into a table where the whole family that were sitting with was taking up the table.
