Benihana - DallasIt was just what we wanted.It was just what we wanted. Its was my daughter's birthday and everything went well. The chef was excellent and worked well with the kids. From letting our son and his friends try some of the cooking stunts, to the great food and service, we were more than pleased! Our Chef was very kid friendly (11 yr olds) and did all the tricks like the volcano to train, thumping heart and tossing shrimp tails. The food was delicious (although too much of it!), and the service was very good. Our chef was a great entertainer! The filet mignon with mushrooms was excellent, the vegetables and fried rice were tasty, and the plum wine was a delightful treat. One in our party was celebrating a birthday, and he received an ice cream sundae with a candle and Happy Birthday sung in Japanese. Especially nice was looking out on a beautiful. lush green landscape instead of acres of concrete as in most Dallas restaurants! The Dallas location is by far one of my favorites. You get the usual soup and salad with every entree but what makes the food so good is the garlic butter that goes in everything. I wish I could buy some. All the servers and chefs are nice and very attentive. Not only do I come back for the food, but I come back for the great service. I usually request to be sat in Mang's section because he always makes sure everything is perfect. ( It's been a couple of years) . Bottom line, I definitly would go back .The Resturant in Houston ,as I remember, was a little better.

The performing chefs are very talented and make for a truly memorable dining experience, and the food is delicious. Something about being able to watch it being made, from scratch, enhanced the taste for me. It was my birthday celebration and I went with some good friends. Our server was friendly and attentive and our chef was fun without being too over-the-top. It was a Tuesday night, so I was not too surprised that it was not crowded at all. The service was excellent and food as good as I remembered. Only two things about the ambiance I wish had been different. My date had been to the orient a hand full of times and she made the comment about how Benihana's landscaping was not a beautiful as the Oriental gardens over in the real orient. I immediately noted to myself that I remembered when it did look outstanding here too. The front lobby used to house a larger sitting area with tons of pictures of famous stars that had eaten at Benihanas...now gone.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was our first time goingIt was our first time going to a place Like this, it was a great experience. Since it was just me and my husband it kinda seemed like we were crammed into a table where the whole family that were sitting with was taking up the table. The place in Dallas is large with a nice bar area and multiple rooms for service.
