Prepare for a dining experience unlike any other. Watch as your personal chef performs the ancient art of Teppanyaki. Listen as razor-sharp blades slice through tender steak and juicy chicken. Take in the aroma of sizzling shrimp, lobster and savory vegetables.

Or visit our sushi bar, where your sushi chef will prepare fresh nigiri, sashimi and specialty rolls, all with the same flair that made Benihana a legend in Japanese cuisine.

  • "We celebrated grandson's birthday. We had a great waiter (entertaining) and the food was very very good."

  • "We went there for a birthday dinner and it was great. Service was excellent and the chief was entertaining. We had some small kids with us and they were entertained by the food tricks the chief did, they want to go again. Service was excellent , food fantastic and the people are very nice. I highly recommend this restaurant, food was great the people are very nice and the young children with us loved the chief's "show""

  • "We brought our own gluten free soy sauce. They were very good at keeping our food separate from the others. However, the salad was not too good. It only had white vinegar as they were out of whatever else they put in it."

  • "Food prepared and cook by a skiled chef . He was also entertaining"

  • "The kids enjoyed the show which made up for the very average tasting food."

  • "Super slow. Seated fairly quick but waiting on the chef, waiters, and bill was extremely slow. It was not even pack! Also no water refill or anything during meal."

  • "I was 15 minutes late and I called it in. I was told not a problem. Then I was put at the back of the line upon showing up. After 30 minutes I was still not sat despite there being no other party in line. We left after being forgotten at the bar."

  • "We've celebrated most family birthdays at Benihana, and always enjoy it. This evening was a late reservation, since we made reservations last minute. Could definitely tell that it was the end of the night, energy was low. Only the manager showed up to help sing Happy Birthday to my son. But although the Chef may have been quiet, his food was great. The waitress was perky, but sometimes hard to find. Sorry to have the Chef's Table birthday program change to only work on M-Th, may affect the frequency of our future visits..."

  • "Had reservations and had to wait 15 minutes due to low staff. Low staff also resulted in slow service for drinks and refills. Ordered wine that turned and when the manager came to help he went straight for the up sell trying to push us to buy a bottle of wine twice instead of just pouring us 2 new glasses of wine from a new bottle. Other than that, the food was great quality and the cook and wait staff were nice."

  • "Always like Benihana. Food is always good. Need a reservation though. This time the reservation was at 8 but showed up early and they accommodated us fine because we only were 2 this time. But usually always need to reserve your table, busy place."

  • "If you want to take a date to a fun place to eat and be entertained, this is the place! We had to wait about 10 minutes, but it was worth it. Our master chef was named Mike and he was worth the price of admission all by himself. I highly recommend him to anyone if you can request him at your table ahead of time. Everyone at our table had a great time watching Mike prepare our dishes. The food was very good, and the presentation even better!"

  • "My family and I visit Benihana almost every month here in San Diego. Both locations in San Diego and one in Orange County and we have been disappointed in the service lately. The chefs here are not that skilled and good and most are hispanic trying to act Japanese. I am from Spain and we love going to Benihana for the culture. My wife and I both enjoyed our visits while we lived in Hawaii over 25 years ago. It was a nice change to visit your location and remember why we loved Benihana in the first place."

  • "We had a coupon from Benihana for my birthday, which basically gave us a free adult meal. The place was packed on a Wednesday night, so reservations are definitely required. The food was ok, but you go for the fun entertainment more than the food. It is also very kid friendly, which helps."

  • "Me and my family celebrate out birthdays at Benihana's. It's always fun and we love the atmosphere. Most of all, we LOVE the food!"

  • "The chef was great and a lot of fun with 6 11yr old boys sitting around the table. The overall service was excellent. Everything was taken care of, timely, and well done."

  • "This Benihana's is awesome, great food with good service!! You have to order the diablo sauce on the side to go along with almost anything!!"

  • "Good food/service once we were seated. Even with a reservation, our party of seven had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated and the restaurant was not the least bit full."

  • "Benihana's in Cupertino, CA is a good example of the what I have seen of the chain across the US. Entertaining food preparation as well as good food. Nice wine list and extras. Remember to make reservations since this location is normally pretty full. Being full, it is also a little loud as well, but probably not any worse than other locations when they are full. Seating is eight at an area with seating close together (at least seems that way to me)."

  • "It was a great place. I've gone to other restaurants where everything cooked tasted the same. Here, everything had its own flavor. We had our 6 month old baby with us and he even enjoyed the show. I would definitely return!"

  • "This place is by far my favorite place to eat! The food is amazing and my kids love it."

  • "Good for birthdays and group events. Dinner and a show. Come out smelling like you've been in sitting in a wok. Okay if you like eau de safflower oil. Still a good experience and good for kids. Been a birthday tradition for a long time."

  • "you have been here. you already know. unless you are a grouch living in a garbage can, you will enjoy yourself. Food is good, fresh and reasonably priced. We went during lunch on Sunday. 6 of us, non alcoholic drinks and picking from the lunch menu ( generous portions, high quality ingredients, same fantastic show as get at dinner ), entertained and fed for 108 bucks. I have fed 6 at the Sizzler, cost me close to 160 dollars and, NO floor show. Beat that !"

  • "Nice spot for a quick, entertaining lunch or dinner. Not someplace you'd go for a romantic take-your-time type of dining experience since they move you all to the tables and then sweep you all out an hour later to bring in the next group. But the food was really great. You also need to know how the ordering works. The waiter did not tell us but we had an experienced couple next to us who shared the rules. It worked out well. I'd go again but with a small group."

  • "Even on reservation you are still required to wait up to over 1/2 or more to complete a table for 8. Table gets smokey for cooking depending on were your are seated."

  • "I went here for my anniversary and we had the chef's special. Great deal! Talented chefs and the keep sake photo was perfect. Had a great time! Service and food were amazing!"

  • "You can't go wrong with Benihana as their food is cooked to perfection right under your eyes. The menu would make anyone happy, especially the seafood and met lovers. The chef was well above average and not only entertained us but cooked delicious fried rice lobster, filet mignon and Chateaubriand. On the minus side we had to wait close to 1/2 hour over the reservation time during which everybody how was already in the lobby plus a few new arrivals were seated. This is not acceptable and a first for us at Benihana and this particular location."

  • "Great place for all ages and celebrations. Song, Cake and even a keepsake photo. Wish the fried is served with the main course and not before. And, this time, in fact rice was served first and then appetizer followed by main course. The lighting in the bar area needs to be tweaked .....it's too bright. Other wise, love this place, the staff and the food."

  • "I love Benihanas anytime, but prices are more reasonable at lunch and the food is great! We took my 4 year old grandson and the chef cooking in front of us kept him entertained."

  • "The best part of our Valentine's lunch was our chef Mike. I've been to Benihana's a few times in the past, but Mike is the best chef I've had the pleasure of meeting. He's funny, does magic tricks and also creates beautiful pictures of art all while preparing our food. We brought our kids with us and they found him very entertaining."

  • "Overall it was a good experience. We went around lunch time. I liked that we were still able to order dinner entrees. One think I will say is that it's very expensive. I don't know if I would come frequently. By the time adult drinks and food were billed it ended up being almost $200 for three adults. We did not get apps. The food with the sauces were delish. But the shrimp seemed a bit over cooked. The fried rice was one of the best things served. If you come here I recommend getting steak. The all seafood order started stealing bites from the steak eaters plate. Lol. All and all it was a good time. No regrets. Just for me, if I'm spending $200 on food, I'd like it cooked to perfection. I'd go back for someone's birthday."
