Husband and I have 5 kids together. Our youngest is special needs. We were out to celebrate our 19 year olds birthday. I do not believe just because he’s special needs he should miss out on the festivities. I called the restaurant the night before our reservation to request the private room to avoid overstimulating our 10 year old Autistic/Epileptic mobile son. We arrived and were told that the room that was supposed to be blocked out wasn’t, but the manager I had spoke to the night before remembered our conversation. He put us in a new space that was not open to the public yet. The room had several tables but we were the only ones there. It was well cooled, and spacious. Our chef came pretty fast. Our experience was amazing. As we expected our son had already removed his shirt, was wailing, and we had our work cut out for us. Overall, it worked out perfectly. We had a great restaurant experience. Thank you to manager (Buddy) at the Concord Ca location. You made this experience comfortable, fun, and relaxing. As always food is always great!! God Bless

This was my first time eating in the lounge, and couldn't see them cooking my food, which was very, very greasy. When I watch the chef make my food, I tell them not to put a lot of butter in my food.

never a disappointment when we come here! our experience was better because of two outstanding people! our server Tony! he took such good care of our party! went above and beyond to make sure our dining experience was memorable! then there was Chef Jazz! we absolutely LOVE him! he is outstanding and entertaining a true gem! thank you both for making my 65th birthday celebration as amazing as it was!

I like the change serving the vegetables first and doing the Cho Cho train towards the end. That way we are enjoying our meal and watching the show.

Party of seven, including an elderly woman on a walker, waited 30 minutes beyond reservation time to be seated, and then seated with a couple who had been waiting for service for nearly 40 minutes. Service was totally disorganized, frantic, and full of mistakes, pretty much destroying the meal. The only redeeming feature was a delightfully entertaining chef named "Soto," who did a good job serving 9 people, even though the order of service was poor (vegetables and rice consumed long before entrees prepared). By the time dinner was completed, the restaurant was nearly empty (after a 7 pm reservation), with desserts and drink refills as frenetic as ever. It was painful for a nearly $600 dinner for 7 to decide not to leave a tip for service, as we dine out several nights a week at restaurants at all level of formality, usually tip 25-35% for excellent service, and only on an extreme occasion would consider a low tip.

They refused to honor our reservation. They said we would have to wait around 90 minutes to get seated. Their excuse was that corporate keeps taking reservations despite going beyond capacity limits.

We had 6:30pm rez and were told when we got there that there was an hour and 30 min wait. No call or text ahead of time. They said that Open Table overbooked their reservations and had previously done the same thing to them on Valentine’s Day. We were finally seated at 8:00pm and did not even get drinks until 8:30pm. We ended up getting a manager discount only after we asked for it and only at that time did they apologize for the situation. Do better Open Table and Benihana.

We were seated 90 minutes after reservation time. Had to nudge them a lot. Manager was nice. Got us California rolls. It was a long night. Not very pleasant.
