  • "Benihana is one of my favorite restaurants to go to, especially for my birthday! I think it's awesome that they take your picture for a keepsake when you celebrate your birthday there. The filet minion is outstanding and watching the chefs do their thing is so much fun! Can't wait to go back :)"

  • "This was our third time visiting this Benihana location, and it rarely has reached the standards of other locations we have been to over the years. Each time we go, reservations or not, we have waited more than 15 minutes to be seated at our table. After being seated, it is usually at least another 20 minutes for a chef to show up. In addition, we were stuffed into a strange corner area with our daughter, who was in a highchair. Of course our child is going to disturb others because we have no room, 3 chairs in a spot for 2! The waiter in our last visit was the best we've had there, but that's still not a great compliment... Our chef only did one "trick," which is why we brought our little girl- the entertainment. Quite disappointed."

  • "me and my family have been dining at Benihana for over 10 years we try go go atleast twice a month, the food is incredible, everything is fresh, and seasoned to perfection, it is also very kid friendly. My children have been attending Benihana since they were still in their baby car seats, they are now soon to be 6, and 4 years old. The Chefs recognize my family and I, and never hesitate to take a few minutes out of there time to say hello followed by a friendly quick conversation."

  • "I look forward to Benihana every year. I usually can only afford to go once a year for my birthday. This is the first year where I went once on my birthday and a second time with my birthday coupon. As my luck would have it, I've had the same chef every time I've gone in the last four years. Which I am really happy about because he is energetic, and makes amazing food. My last time, I used my birthday coupon and my friend came with me. We got a different chef, and while he was entertaining and great...I don't think his food was as flavorful as the other chef. It was still really tasty though!"

  • "Service the night of my birthday celebration was horrible. Our server was new and did not have enough experience to handle 4 tables. Our soup and salad arrived at the same time as our wonderful cook Adrian. Refills had to be requested multiple times. We asked if happy hour drinks could be ordered at the table, he said yes so an order was placed. By the time he came back he said happy hour was over and the orders had to be placed at the bar for happy hour. At the end of the meal, he asked 3 times how the bills were going to be divided. When my bill arrived, my birthday coupon had not been added. We also had request tea and the birthday ice cream twice. Had Adrian our cook had not been so entertaining the night would have been a bust."

  • "This is a great place to have a unique dining experience. Watching the Chef prepare our food was fun and he kept us entertained through the entire process. The food was excellent, we made new friends at our table and even celebrated a Birthday with someone we just met ! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants more than just a typical quiet night."

  • "All the tables are crammed in one room leaving very little space. Way over priced. Building exterior and interior are looking tired and old, needs a refurb. Food tasted great"

  • "The food here is great and the cook put on a great show. However its very noisy and hard to hold a conversation. The seat I was in happened to be in the walkway and I was bumped into several times by people walking by."

  • "This was our first occasion to Benihana for my cousins 18th birthday. The hostess was courteous and took us to our seats promptly but after that the service was very poor. I was previously a restaurant manager and therefore I do not like to complain but the server might have had to many tables to keep up with but he was extremely hard to locate, our drinks took an extremely long time as did everything else, we were seated at 6:30 and were rushing to leave by 8:10 To pick our kids up. I boxed my food as soon as it was served at 8:10 and didn't get to enjoy desert with my cousin. I spent over $140 on dinner which is fine for a nice dinner had it been what we anticipated, just overall disappointed."
    Dined on 3/10/2014
  • "Our service was horrible. It took the chef 45 minutes to come to the table to start cooking."

  • "We look forward to a visit here at least once a year. The food is incredibly delicious, the staff is very friendly and the chefs are just as entertaining as they are skilled in creating your meal."

  • "Poor experience, waiter forgot half the tables order. Two orders never came. Had to track down a waiter a few times just to get refills. One drink didn't come for another 10 minutes. Had a reservation for 6, was told I had to wait another 30 minutes for a table to be free. And so on...."

  • "My son and I were so looking forward to our "dinner and a show" night! I had no idea how run down and undesirable the Cincinnati Benihana's had become. I had frequented the Benihana's downtown and really loved that location for lunch and dinner. It was closed down and we had to go to the other location. Don't get me wrong, the food was amazing and the service just as stellar, but unfortunately, the other 6 guests made it impossible for the chef and servers to do their very best. These customers were rude, obnoxious, unruly, offensive and demanding. They were yelling across the grill; at their friends, at the server and the chef...it got to a point where I did not feel safe and I wanted to get out of there as soon as I possibly could"

  • "All in all it was delicious, but we have to wave down our beverage server to get a refill on our drinks. Once we got her waved down the first time she completely disappeared so we had to finish our meal with no drinks."

  • "This was not our first visit. We have been several times. It has always been a fun time. The chefs at the table are entertaining however it is the exact same show every time, every location. The food is very good but you must like garlic. They use a garlic butter on just about all of the items cooked ont the grill. They only negative is when you leave your clothes smell like grease. I wish the ventilation system was better."

  • "All of my friends have banned together to join the club and we all celebrate each other's birthday together at Benihana! Having the Birthday 'girl' use her $30 certificate is all the incentive we need to visit every change we get! The group picture is always fun, as well and we love comparing how we have looked through the years... Of course, the food is always wonderful and plentiful!"

  • "Your chef's are the best but the waiter service is not very good we waited for a long time for our drinks and to get refills was even longer I think the waiters could try harder to take care of the table but other than that it was great"

  • "As usual the experience was very pleasant. The servers were friendly and offered to put our birthday cake away until after we ate. The chef did not do the usual veggie volcano and food toss for everyone but the food was still excellent so it wasn't a big deal. It would have been nice to see especially for our children in their first experience at the restaurant."

  • "Benihana is by far my favorite restaurant. We have been to this location many times, but this was not a stellar visit by far. We waited for at least 20 minutes before our server came to our table and them she did not come around too often. The chef had to keep going to look for her to refill our drinks. The chef was very good but the food was somewhat bland and he left the meat in big chunks instead of bite-sized pieces. The server admitted they were short-staffed that day and she was very tired. It reflected in her service. this is not the norm for this location, they were just having a bad day. We will visit again."

  • "We got a cook by the name of Hiro. Honestly his cooking skills are no longer up to par. He started with Vegetables which were 90% onions 5% carrots and 5% zuchini. He cooked that totally and put it on our plate. He then cooked shrimp and scallops but forgot to give one of the customers her shrimp . So now we have part of our meals and a pile of onions. He decides to now start the steak and chicken and the steak is oput on the people who requested it, minced veggies still on the grill. approximately 5-10 minutes later out comes the rice. The rice hadlarge spots of white rice throughout. Terrible expecience. We will stay a KABUTO fan, because they have it going on and the Once famous Benihana's needs to take a few lessons."

  • "If you make a reservation, be on time. They will only hold it for five minutes. After that, you're considered a walk in. We were there in September and the experience and the food was much better. They have changed the shrimp sauce to some thick mayo recipe. It was not good. I asked and was told it was a corporate change. A good experience at Benihanas' depends on your chef. If you go and a chef who is entertaining and his food is good, remember his name and ask for his table in the future. We won't be going back anyway soon."

  • "We had a great time until we were seated at a table with a bunch of screaming kids who were accompanied by their intoxicated parents. We arrived a little bit early to experience the happy house and were seated earlier then our reservation time so we didn't have much time to sit at the bar. The actual meal took longer then any other Benihana experience I've had. For as much as we paid it was okay, however, there are definitely other restaurants that would be our first pick for a romantic night out."

  • "So sad the downtown Cincinnati location closed. This one has apparently become the hotspot for rude and loud hood folk. Sad that a security person has to be on duty in a restaurant. I am black. Newsflash...we all don't always want to sit together and over crowding the table was just annoying. Love Beni's just not this one"

  • "The restaurant (undergoing renovations) was very cold, which was not enjoyable. We had 6:30 p.m. reservations on a night when it was 7 degrees. We sat in the small, 2-table room that's in the middle of the 2 main dining rooms. The space heater near us couldn't keep up with the cold temps. When the cooktop fan was turned on, it sucked all the hot air out of the room (what little hot air there was). One couple wore their coats the entire time. The restroom was also freezing, and the credit card machine went down. We had to pay cash (or leave our credit card info. with the restaurant--no thanks!). The one highlight was chef Adrian. He was very entertaining, and the food was very good. Hold off on eating here until the renovations are done."

  • "I have dined at the Tri County Benihana's many times for many years. It has been my favorite place to eat. I was surprised at the changes. The ginger sauce and mustard sauce were both different; they tasted okay, but were not as good as in the past. Always before, we received our fried rice (my favorite item) after the soup and salad. This time it was served at the same time as the meal and was definitely not as good as before. We were not offered ice cream or green tea. I have eaten at many Japanese restaurants, but Benihana's has always been my favorite by far. Not anymore. I will go to the ones closer to my home as now they are as good. Very sad."

  • "Benihana's is a great restaurant that everyone should eat at at least once in their life. I've been several times and I always love it. It's very interactive and fun. It's not the place to go for a quiet night or a meal alone with someone, but is great if you want to interact with the chef while he cooks your food right in front of you. Also, I discovered upon this visit that the restaurant is very kid friendly. Besides getting to see food cooked in front of them in an exciting way, they also can order from a kids menu. Finally, they have "marble sodas" that are exceptionally cool, but hard to do justice in a written description. Food is a bit pricier than other places but the amount served easily allows for leftovers."
