  • "The chef was very quiet. He forgot the fried rice for the couple we shared the table with! By the time he recooked another batch for them, ours was either cold or gone for those who decided to eat. His "tricks" were minimal at best! I am sure he is a nice guy, it would be nice if one of the Senior Chefs would take him under his wing. We all left still hungry and grabbed a burger for our hour drive home! I recommend someone from the staff visit Mt. Fuji in Colorado to see how it is done! Same prices but great entertainment, and a ton of food including rice and noodles along with your choice of meat. Not worth the $150 bill at the end!"

The waitress made us feel right at home, the chef (Itto) was entertaining, the food was absolutely delicious. It's too pricey for me to go back too soon, but it is definitely on my wish list and I can't wait to go back!"

  • "We've enjoyed several visits to this restaurant, previously. In the past we've always been seated towards the front, near the windows & NEVER experienced anything like we did on July 16, 2014. We were sitting at a table towards the back where there were six or more table tops. The heat in that part of the restaurant was unbearable, to say the LEAST. Our chef was overheated, but still excellent, other couples at the table were discussing the heat as well, but to watch my 7 and 11 yr. old grandsons struggle!?? It was TOO MUCH (the boys started to BEG to leave & they typically have loved the experience). When we left the restaurant it was noticeably cooler outside! This is truly sad, considering it was 110 degrees outside in the AZ night!?"

  • "I love the show the chefs put on. That alone is worth it. For me, the food is good, a little on the flat/bland side. Service is OK, the hostess did not really engage us. They take a photo for special occasions but use the cheapest point and shoot camera they can find. It takes terrible color streaked pictures inside the dull lighting of the restaurant."

  • "It was very hot inside and stuffy inside. They have the tables packed in pretty close. We were in the back corner so maybe that made it worse with no windows. Our chef was nice but no magic like others in Hawaii or Las Vegas where they really put on a great show. Prices were fine but the ambience is definitely not there for a Benihana. Go to the one in Scottsdale instead. We had 5 of us and still enjoyed the evening but was happy to leave so we could breath,"

  • "Our family went to Benihana's to celebrate my 60th birthday. We had a group of six and were sat at a table with another couple which was fine. From the beginning, this is a different take on dining. I love the way they chop and cut all veggies and meat/seafood at your "table". Our chef was friendly and entertaining as was our server. I would definitely recommend this to families (small children included) and will come back again."

  • "Went there to celebrate my wife’s 50th birthday and had a great time. Started out with some Sake bombs to get things rolling. For dinner we ordered from the Teppan menu; my wife chose the Deluxe Treat and I chose Land ‘N Sea. All the food was prepared to perfection and our chef was very entertaining. I will suggest, getting the fried rice with your meal instead of the steamed rice that comes standard. Others at our table got it and all praised how good it was (we were jealous). We will definitely be going back for my birthday later this year. Enjoy!!!"

The chef, noting how long most of us had sat awaiting the main course, even commented on the unreasonably long time span. Not cool, Benihana's!"

  • "This was the first time our party of 4 had ever been at Benihana so that should be taken into consideration for the review. The service was very good but the food was disappointing. It is also very loud even though we sat at a corner table in the periphery of the restaurant. Also, given that they prepare the food at the table, it is very very warm/hot. Not comfortable for a relaxed dining experience. Lastly, the singing of happy birthday (4 times) to adults seems a little weird."

  • "I've always enjoyed the chef's shows here. However the chef was trying to hard to do the show and forgot how to cook. His distribution of food was poor as he wasn't serving people at equal times. One of the members in my party asked for white rice and never recieved it. I asked for a medium rare fillet and received a well done fillet. Even after I told the chef three times it was supposed to be medium rare. Extremely sub par meal at best. Probably wont go back anytime soon."

Did everything we asked. We really enjoyed him and he cooked the food just how we liked. Going again before end of month to use my birthday certificate. I am going to ask to have him again."

  • "Disappointment is hard word to use for a place I love to eat and visit, but I do have to say that on my visit of June 12, 2014 was a complete waste of money. The food had no flavor and knowing that that the cook was only on his 2nd week of being a chef, made the whole night go down from there. It does make me wonder if I have to ask the cook how long he has been on the job before I decide to order or walk way from the table. I will eat there again but I can't experience another disaster at the prices that this establishment charges."

I just wish I can have more vegetable, since the chef passed the mushrooms, to my plate, it's not too many left ,so sad. also, there's a small child sit on the same table with us that night. she was crying loud all the time, we kind of understand, but kind of noisy to our special occasion. wish you can have different arrangement next time."

  • "The last time I went, I noted the chef was fairly new, and made a lot of mistakes. That trend continues. Last time the chef shorted me some of my food. This time he served it to someone else. The other person who got it immediately realized it, and we were able to switch plates, which was ok, but what if he had already used it? Ewww Then later, I was given someone else's food. The chef actually asked me to move the food off my plate onto his. I certainly didnt move all of it, and the other diner was shorted. The chef should have just acknowledged his mistakes, and fixed it properly. The chef was on the job for less than two weeks. Its not a pleasant dining experience any more. For the amount of money one pays, we deserve better service"

  • "Had a girls night out last Friday to celebrate my sisters b day. Our reservations were for 7:30 and we were running a bit late. We called to push back to 8:30 and they were very accommodating. We were seated promptly upon arrival. Although it was her first night, our waitress was great! We ordered about 5 half rolls and they were amazing! We had grilled steak, chicken and shrimp which were also amazing! I recommend the Udon plates, the spicy sauce is incredible. Overall great experience except for when our tab arrived. We split the tab and after several attempts by the manager and 30 minutes of waiting, she finally got it right."

  • "First off, I madereservations on open table.com where I also mentioned that it was our anniversary dinner and when asked atthe table I also mentioned it was our anniversary. That was the last time it was mentioned at all. There should also be a notice that you will be sharing your table with complete strangers even if you have a party of five. The young man who was our chef seemed unexcited and his act was already played out by the two tables next to us so we could have left for panda express after waiting for our own "exPerience" because we saw the show and that is all we are really paying for at benehanas. Overall, cost to value was way off the mark for us and we have no intention of eating there anymore. "
