  • "When we arrived they didn't accept our open table reservations. We had to wait for 40 min then when asked how much longer they said they can't predict. They only had 3 servers"

  • "I'm a fan of Benihana and this location in particular but this particular dining experience was not the best. From the wait, the bland food and the messed up orders it was one visit we all would like to forget. I would suggest going when its not so busy because the food is normally great and the service stellar."

  • "Benihana used to be a unique experience. Good food prepared right in front of you by highly trained and entertaining chefs from Japan. Waitresses were also Japanese. I had not been in a long time. This time, there wasn't a Japanese person in sight. The food was less than apitizing. It was extremely crowded and noisey. It is still entertaining for young children and that was the purpose of the visit but it was not a good value at all. I would not go there again."

  • "To celebrate my birthday, I wanted to dine at a Hibachi style Japanese restaurant. Shocked that my favorite Hibachi restaurant Kobe Steaks was closed in Atlanta I decided on Benihana's..BIG MISTAKE! The grill surface was dirty and the plates were oily. I had to request the server to bring me and my Wife new plates and the cook to re-clean the grill before cooking. I notated in my reservations that I was celebrating my birthday and never got the usually embarrassing birthday song. Our meal included the choice of ice cream or sherbet after dinner and was not offered until we received our checks back and me bringing it to the servers attention. I will not be returning."

  • "Our server was very forgetful. We didn't get our soup and salad until an hour after we sat. Had horrible service both times that we have dined at this location. It was a celebration of my birthday and I was asked if we would like the birthday song. Bad service"

  • "Salads and soups came out late; had to ask for them to sing happy bday right before we left even though we told them when we arrived. Other people got more rice than me. Otherwise GREAT food and ambiance!! Host was great."

  • "It's time for a change. How many times can you enjoy a onion choo-choo? The food is what keeps you going back, not the show! It took quite awhile before anyone came to serve, and even longer before a chef came. They admittedly were short staffed. The waitress was a highlight. Super nice! The chef was the usual meaning hisquirkiness was humorous at times, but it was the standard show. I've never been to a Benihana that is any different. I should just grab a tub of garlic butter and go home to cook in my wok. It seemed to be one big dining area, so you can hear all of the birthday songs across the room. We seemed to be in the back of the room right in front of the storage room. There was only a curtain separating us from storage. What fun!"

  • "This place needs new management. It makes no sense to make a reservation and still have to wait an hour after your reservation to be seated. The place also needs to be remodeled. It is not the most clean restaurant. For the pricing of the food the service is extremely poor. The only thing that made this visit pleasant was our chef Monte. If it wasn't for him this dining experience would be rated poor. I would not recommend this location to anyone. Always short staff and the staff that they do have are not the most friendly. I have never had a pleasant dining experience at this location. Will not go back. 3rd time was not a charm."

  • "Food and chef were great. Quite unhappy with the ambience. Not racially diverse at all - everyone was black."

  • "The entire experience was wonderful with the exception of the customer service. The hostess was incredibly rude and had a terrible attitude. Being the first employee a guest comes into contact with, the hostess should be much more pleasant than the one I experienced."

  • "Lakeisha and Pedro made my birthday the best. I will definitely be back. The waitress Lakeisha was very knowledgeable. She went above and beyond to make our experience the best ever. My mom wanted to go back the next day. I was so pleased with our cook Pedro the food was so good and his customer service was outstanding also."

  • "I'll just say two things: Our chef decided to cook himself his own dinner from the food that my table paid for. And then, when we had an issue with that, proceeded to tell his manager we were insulting and discriminating against him. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE service and management. Save yourself the trouble and find another Hibachi place that values their customers!"

  • "The food is good. I highly recommend the filet mignon, shrimp, and lobster. They offer great sushi dishes and their alcohol drinks and flavored lemonade are great too. I only go when I get the $30.00 birthday certificate. Even then, it's quite pricy. I will say despite the expensive bill, it was worth it. So that says a lot."

  • "I had a 4 pm reservation for 7 and we didn't get seated until 515pm. They claimed to not have any chefs but 2 couples were seated before me and they had no reservation. I asked for the mgr and complained. She said she would take a small fee off our bill. She took off $5. I have never been so insulted. I will not spend one dime in that restaurant ever again. I hope it had nothing to do with the fact that im a black male."

  • "The service was extremely poor from the moment my table sat down. We waited for about 15 mins before the waitress appeared. She was forgetful, it took forever for the alcoholic beverages to come. Do NOT order brown rice, please either stick with fried rice that the hibachi chef whips up for you on the grill or steamed rice. If you take the chance and order the brown rice you will NOT get it. As a whole the customer service at this chain has gone down. The manager that we encountered was not concerned about the overall customer experience and saving a potential returning customer she was only focused on the moment. Bad waiters are a representation of bad management, they were both bad. One bad incident spoiled it for the entire table"

  • "The great food and entertainment from the chef made up for the fact we waited 15 minutes before we received anything to drink. I ordered a water because I was really thirsty, figured he'd be right back with it. The chef came to prepare our food before we received our drinks. Second time having bad service at this location. Glady the food is always good."

  • "I took my mom and grand daughter with me to celebrate my birthday. My mom, grand daughter & I had a great time. It was my mother's first time there. My 4 year old grand daughter had everyone's attention as she skillfully used her chop sticks. Cutest thing......"

  • "Great Food, Great Fun, Great Atmosphere, Energetic socially, Great drinks, Great service however note the dress code as my hubby had to go out and buy a shirt with sleeves! Cater to large birthday parties! Enjoyed it as always."

  • "I used to believe reservations are to save a place for a specific time. Well, thank you Benihana-Buckhead for destroying my belief. We made a reservation for 2:30pm. I understand it was Father's Day. But to wait 1 hour for seating, after making it on time (10 mins before) to the restaurant is ridiculous. You might as well not take reservations, and provide first-come, first-served service. Even walk-ins were seated before us. Also, they appeared under-staffed of Chefs on a busy holiday. Unusual experience here for us because we've been before and had better service."

  • "I made a rescue ration for 30 people and they couldn't even accommodate 10 of us. What's the point of a reservation if I still have to wait an hour to be seated. We had to complain in order to be seated. I go here every hear for my birthday and it was horrible."

  • "I read the reviews for this location and said it can't be that bad. We arrived early and STILL had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. The spaces are small, it's not made for tall or hippy people. The grill was very dirty, our chef cleaned it before and after he started cooking. The server arrived and before he got to me to take my drink order another one came and they argued over whose table it was. Then, we waited for our chef. The table next to us had been waiting for theirs longer but our came before theirs. We had a baby at our table who wouldn't sit down and was distracting the entire time. The only reason I went is because I had a gift card. The food was good but it just wasn't what I was expecting. Next time I'll believe the reviews. "

  • "I was very dissatisfied with the ambiance. We will never return to that location. I'm willing to give the Downtown Atlanta location a try but after that no Benihana for me!"

  • "I made a mistake of going during the last day of month for May birthdays to use their gift certificates, so it was extremely busy and loud. I was seated relatively fast after making an OpenTable reservation but it took over an hour for to have a chef begin cooking my meal. My chef was inexperienced and walked away from the table several times and seemed completely overwhelmed. The checks were all wrong and required management's involvement to clear up after much back and forth. Benihana was one of my favorite places to eat but I probably won't be going back as it seems they've lost that touch they once possessed."

  • "The food is not of high quality as past years, the yum yum (seafood sauce) is watered down. The staff seems like fast food workers most times. If I go back it would be for lunch only."

  • "So I usually come to Benihana for birthday celebrations. However, this time it felt like we were being rushed. As we were still eating soon after the food was done he came by with boxes to pack up left overs and asked to bring our ice cream. Hello can we enjoy our meal. Also big problem was our cook Juan let the first person he served the grilled onions to scrap the spatula with her fork from her mouth and then he proceeded to try to serve everyone else with the same spatula. Everyone else declined. Don't they realize you can transmit viruses, bacteria, all kinds of health hazards. Which is why my friend spoke to the manager, because it could have been something as mild as a stomach virus to something as series as hepatitis. "
