And then, when we had an issue with that, proceeded to tell his manager we were insulting and discriminating against him. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE service and management. Save yourself the trouble and find another Hibachi place that values their customers!"

  • "The food is good. I highly recommend the filet mignon, shrimp, and lobster. They offer great sushi dishes and their alcohol drinks and flavored lemonade are great too. I only go when I get the $30.00 birthday certificate. Even then, it's quite pricy. I will say despite the expensive bill, it was worth it. So that says a lot."

  • "It's one of my usual spots to eat. Very chill atmosphere. Love Chef Juan, he's the best! Ask for him. The waiter was nice, knew the drink menu pretty good, so I tried a drink he suggested. It was very good and strong. Overall, my party was accommodated and everyone had a blast."

  • "I had a 4 pm reservation for 7 and we didn't get seated until 515pm. They claimed to not have any chefs but 2 couples were seated before me and they had no reservation. I asked for the mgr and complained. She said she would take a small fee off our bill. She took off $5. I have never been so insulted. I will not spend one dime in that restaurant ever again. I hope it had nothing to do with the fact that im a black male."

  • "The service was extremely poor from the moment my table sat down. We waited for about 15 mins before the waitress appeared. She was forgetful, it took forever for the alcoholic beverages to come. Do NOT order brown rice, please either stick with fried rice that the hibachi chef whips up for you on the grill or steamed rice. If you take the chance and order the brown rice you will NOT get it. As a whole the customer service at this chain has gone down. The manager that we encountered was not concerned about the overall customer experience and saving a potential returning customer she was only focused on the moment. Bad waiters are a representation of bad management, they were both bad. One bad incident spoiled it for the entire table"

I ordered a water because I was really thirsty, figured he'd be right back with it. The chef came to prepare our food before we received our drinks. Second time having bad service at this location.   • "I used to believe reservations are to save a place for a specific time. Well, thank you Benihana-Buckhead for destroying my belief. We made a reservation for 2:30pm. I understand it was Father's Day. But to wait 1 hour for seating, after making it on time (10 mins before) to the restaurant is ridiculous. You might as well not take reservations, and provide first-come, first-served service. Even walk-ins were seated before us. Also, they appeared under-staffed of Chefs on a busy holiday. Unusual experience here for us because we've been before and had better service."

  • "I made a rescue ration for 30 people and they couldn't even accommodate 10 of us. What's the point of a reservation if I still have to wait an hour to be seated. We had to complain in order to be seated. I go here every hear for my birthday and it was horrible."

  • "I read the reviews for this location and said it can't be that bad. We arrived early and STILL had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. The spaces are small, it's not made for tall or hippy people. The grill was very dirty, our chef cleaned it before and after he started cooking. The server arrived and before he got to me to take my drink order another one came and they argued over whose table it was. Then, we waited for our chef. The table next to us had been waiting for theirs longer but our came before theirs. We had a baby at our table who wouldn't sit down and was distracting the entire time. The only reason I went is because I had a gift card. The food was good but it just wasn't what I was expecting. Next time I'll believe the reviews. "

  • "I made a mistake of going during the last day of month for May birthdays to use their gift certificates, so it was extremely busy and loud. I was seated relatively fast after making an OpenTable reservation but it took over an hour for to have a chef begin cooking my meal. My chef was inexperienced and walked away from the table several times and seemed completely overwhelmed. The checks were all wrong and required management's involvement to clear up after much back and forth. Benihana was one of my favorite places to eat but I probably won't be going back as it seems they've lost that touch they once possessed."

  • "So I usually come to Benihana for birthday celebrations. However, this time it felt like we were being rushed. As we were still eating soon after the food was done he came by with boxes to pack up left overs and asked to bring our ice cream. Hello can we enjoy our meal. Also big problem was our cook Juan let the first person he served the grilled onions to scrap the spatula with her fork from her mouth and then he proceeded to try to serve everyone else with the same spatula. Everyone else declined. Don't they realize you can transmit viruses, bacteria, all kinds of health hazards. Which is why my friend spoke to the manager, because it could have been something as mild as a stomach virus to something as series as hepatitis. "

  • "We're regular patrons of the Alpharetta Benihana location, but it has gotten very hard to get a reservation there, so we went to the Buckhead location instead. We've had unpleasant experiences at the Buckhead location before, but we gave it another chance. Now I wish we hadn't. The service was slow. The table seemed even more crowded than usual. The chef seemed stressed out. The food was OK at best. The restaurant was excessively noisy and seemed chaotic. Our check was wrong at first (the server put one of our tablemates' dinners on our check). If we can't get in at Alpharetta I suppose we'll have to take our business to another hibachi restaurant."

  • "Our server Martha was the worse! Did not want to bring drinks and rolled her eyes every time we asked for something. After paying the bill and leaving a $70 tip, 20% gratuity,she insisted that it wasn't enough for her to split with the bartender. Seriously? When does a waitress ask for MORE money? Out of LINE and UNPROFESSIONAL! We would go back again because we love the food, however I would demand a new waitress."

  • "We are long-time fans of Teppanyaki dining, particularly with kids. When we asked our 3-year-old grandson where he wanted to eat his birthday dinner, he asked for Teppenyaki. This was our first time at this particular Benihana. Service was awful. Waiter had to ask my drink order (glass of Sauvignon Blanc--not too hard) three times. It took forever to get our drinks. My daughter and her husband shared an entree but the chef only filled his plate. They brought the check before we finished our entrees. My grandson got melted ice cream with no candle and a half- hearted birthday song. We never received the sherbet that came with our entrees . We will go back to Benihana but not to this location."

  • "I MADE TWO RESERVATIONS FOR 630PM, I ARRIVED AROUND 615PM AND HAD TO WAIT UNTIL AROUND 830 FOR MY PARTY OF 13 TO BE SEATED. WE WERE EXTREMELY UPSET AND HUNGRY AND AGGRAVATED. THE SERVICE FROM THE COOKS MADE UP FOR THE UNPROFESSIONAL ATTITUDE OF THE HOST/GREETER AND THE WAIT. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS PARTICULAR BENIHANA TO A FRIEND. THE RESERVATION SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE IMPROVED AND CUSTOMER SERVICE SHOULD BE ENFORCED, I.E. SMILES, COURTEOUSY ETC. NOT ROLLING EYES AND ATTITUDE. I EXPECTED MORE FROM BENIHANAS"

What a shame that what was probably very unique years ago has turned into a chain where the servers and chefs just seem to be going through the motions. The manager looked like he rolled out of bed."

  • "When we got there they could not find our reservation so we had to wait we were told they were short a waiter when one clearly needed a smoke break because he had been there since 1pm.. Then when we finally were seated we clearly had our son (10) and were not offered a kids menu but he was given an adult beverage which he would not be able to finish. The smoke from the hibachi was very overpowering but needless to say it was our family not so we were not going to let it ruin our evening."

  • "We had reservations for 7:00 p.m, but were leaving from McDonough, GA My mom called to let them know we would be late (prom night) and they said they would only hold reservations for 15 minutes. We got there at 7;13 and still had to wait about 20 minutes. Sushi and rice was the best part."

  • "While I can understand why some restaurants have a policy for not seating groups without them all being there, it doesn't make sense when the 6 out of the 7 people are there; plus, we told them that the other person will be coming extremely late and that we would like to go ahead and be seated. We were told we had to wait; however, 30 min later, I decided to insist that we be seated. Even then, the host (gentleman) gave us a rude sneer when he noticed that we weren't all there. This is my only complaint. The food and service was otherwise just fine. "

Whether we are celebrating a special event or having a family night we just love this place and are never disappointed. Everyone was awesome from the host to the chef, even the other patrons at our table. We really enjoy ourselves and always leave with happy memories."

  • "I love hibachi food. I often had heard of Benihana as the best place to get it. It's best to have a reservation but even then your reservation time might not be honored but it does help. The wait is normally 1-2 hours. Food could stand a little more seasoning. Nothing special honestly to me. The bill for my girlfriend and I was $81. I don't think it was wort that price but hey atleast I can say I are there right?"

  • "After we got seated, it took 15 minutes to get the waiter to the table. After ordering drinks, it took around 40 minutes to get them. The chef took way over about an hour and fifteen minutes to get to us. The food was great but there was barely any alcohol in the drinks. The chef's entertainment was very interestingand amusing. "
