  • "Our table had two birthdays! They asked four times for the birthdays from the manager, host, server, and the cook. and we answered yes four times. The server leaked his finger each time he handed out napkins. We had to ask four times to bring an another cup. The appetizer and salad were served during the meal. The steamed rice was served at the end of the meal only after we asked. They never came for birthday songs, candles, pictures - what they are famous for. They just tried to get rid of us ASAP while the restaurant were half empty!!! PLEASE DO NOT GO THERE!!!"

  • "We had reservations at 5;30 for a group of 6,and we all had gotten there 15 min early, a few big groups of people had come in after us and I was HIGHLY disappointed that all the people that came in after us got seated first. We eat here quite a bit and this isn't the first time it has happened. I went up and asked why the other people got seated first and they said because it was big groups and they wanted to get them seated first, WELL....We were a group of six, the two groups that had gotten seated were a group of 6 and a group of 8, We had kids that were getting impatient and hungry I felt pushed aside, HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!"

We had all planned on sharing dishes in common except the beef dish that my wife's friends husband ordered. It was a pleasant surprise to find a very accommodating chef Donald who I enjoyed talking to and watching his preparation. The lunch prices were reasonable and service was excellent."

  • "We ate here for my daughters bday. My kids love to watch the cooks make the food in front of them. We always have a good experience but this time it took a very long time to get a cook to the table. My kids (3 and 7) were getting restless and really hungry waiting. We were told they were short on cooks. When we finally got our cook he didn't do all the fun stuff that is normally done. We watched everyone else's table watching a volcano made outta onions and that was not done for us and some of the other tricks when they catch diff things in their hats was not done either. It was kind of a bummer because that's why my daughter wanted to go there to eat. The food was great as always. Was hoping for a better experience."

  • "What is the point of making reservations for this restaurant through open table if you don't get seated at the time you reserve? We waited almost 30minutes after our reservation time before being seated, then didn't get any food until 25minutes later. The chefs hardly do anything new, the same old onion volcano, shrimp tail in the hat, and egg roll off the spatula. Not worth the over priced food due to the lack of entertainment. Those little antics are not worth the almost 1hour wait."

  • "always been referred to coming here, but for the price I paid the food was not that great, the cook burned half the food, wasnt seasoned great, the teriyaki steak was rough & it didn't even taste like teriyaki, the onions were super crunchy, 4 of us choose not to eat and just get a a to go box home, the adaname was not very tasteful either, very bland and dry. I honestly was expecting more from Benihana. The cook was fun and lively , but the good was definitely not worth the money, I would rather go to TGIFridays or Red Robin, could have saved some money. We even kept telling the cook to add more seasonings and garlic butter, he did but not enough, and was kinda against it. Tang our server was excellent and sweet, very prompt!"

  • "I've been going to Benihana in Anchorage for almost 15 years. It has always been excellent except for a brief period when it changed owners six or seven years ago (estimate). The "be the chef" program is a unique experience as well as the "sushi making class". Jan was great with the sushi class. This last experience was a lunch for four of us girls from work. The chef was fun and had a couple of new "tricks" up his sleeve that I hadn't seen before. It was great!"

I felt is was a little odd that I had to check out for my drink order in order to go to the dining area. I've just always seen you carry your tab into the dining area so it was a little strange I had two checks to take care of. Other then that , I would say the entire experience was enjoyable and pretty spectacular."

  • "I was disappointed in this restaurant. I was celebrating my granddaughters success graduating a very important program. She is 16 and a hard road to accomplish this program. She was congratulated at the door. And the server also recognized her. Other than that nothing the table we were at had a five year old with a birthday Also the chef was a relative of the family that were we sitting with. More attention was on them then the whole table. I will not go back to Benihana for any occasion. The food was mediocre also since there grandma was allergic to some food I was unable to enjoy my dinner with my granddaughter."

  • "It was a fun experience. Food was good. The Scallops were super delicious. It was a business lunch so I didn't look at the wine list. The only thing that was kind of annoying is that we had to wait for our full party (9 people) before we could even sit at our table. We were told it was because the chef only comes out once and if everyone wasn't there we would have to order for them. So we felt awkward standing and crowding the door area. But once we got to our table, it was great. Service was very good, people were friendly. It was a nice atmosphere."
