Had a great time at brunch. Wish
the menu was a little bigger but overall the food was good. The noise level in the middle front room can be a little loud at times but, overall a good experience."

We enjoyed the service and the
very tasty meal. Fun evening and ambience. Chef came by to check out how we enjoyed dinner. Very nice job!! We will be back."
Dined on 2/14/2014
Food was great. I ordered a
grilled cheese sandwich. Have not had one in thirty five yrs! Two cheeses, served with butternut squash soup and salad. Portions seemed small, initially, but meal was perfectly proportioned. Server, hostess and the chef genuinely inquired about the quality of our meal and dining experience. Beer temperature was perfect and the server picked the perfect beer after asking what kind of beers we preferred. So excited to support a restaurant of this calibre in Huntsville!"

My group and i keep going to the
trivia night hosted by BTR and this week was by far the best yet! Great server and amazing service!"
Dined on 2/17/2014
Pre-Valantine seating was
pleasant, not too crowded. Waitress was very pleasant and knowledge of beverage list (considerable) was beyond expectations."
Dined on 2/14/2014
This was my first time at Under
the Radar and I was very pleased. Great assortment of draft ‘craft’ brews, very good food, nice atmosphere, and very capable service. Our waitress, Kerry (sp?), was excellent! She was very pleasant and capable, and definitely knew the menu and what brews went with it. I will be back! I may have just found a new ‘go to’ place."
Dined on 2/13/2014
Great beers and service. As far as
the food goes stick to the standard bar fare. Salads and entrees were not as advertised in the menu. If a seating preference is available don't get stuck in the back room unless you have a large group, not much in the way of atmosphere there."
Dined on 2/8/2014
Good food and a huge wine and Beer
list. Enough said. We also liked how they use local farmers for their meat and other ingredients. Very cool place. We will definitely be coming back!"
Dined on 2/7/2014
if want micro brew beers, this is
the place to go in Huntsville. great selection of draft beers, many from AL. food is good, most bar type food: fish and chips, wings, etc."
Dined on 2/5/2014
More upscale bar food. Enjoyed the
tomato grits that were served with shrimp. The lamb shank was moist. I don't usually use salt but these dishes needed a little more seasoning. This placed was absolutely wall to wall people Saturday evening. Noise level is high so it's hard to have a conversation but there is a lot of vitality. A fun evening."

I took my out-of-town parents and
my fiancé to Below the Radar the day after Christmas. Below the Radar can be quite crowded due to the after work crowd, so it is best to make a reservation ahead of time. Sometimes this needs to be done several days in advance. The atmosphere is cozy but can be quite loud during the heavier trafficked times. We enjoyed the many varieties of beer to choose from but were a little overwhelmed by the selections due to some inexperience with the different types of beer available. If you are unsure of what type of beer you want to try, the service staff are pretty good at making recommendations, but it's not 100% that you will like what you get. The food is top quality but lacks variety."

First off I am an idiot and got to
the resturant/bar an hour early but the still found my girlfriend and I a seat. We first noticed that this is a bar that cooks food. This was New Year's Eve so the place was packed our server did an outstanding job I told her that it was going to take us a long time to eat because we were so early but I did make sure to tell her I would take care of her. We did find an an app. On the limited menu we then got salads witch I loved the spinach salad. Then for our main dish I got the special witch was an 8 oz filet with a veal reduction 3 large scampi w/mash potatos and grilled asp. It was delicious. Over all great experience we were there for around 2 to 3 hours but that was by choice so I tipped according."

We've been here 3 times now and
the food is always excellent. The service was great, she went out of her way to help me with my dietary restrictions (gluten free). They do mark the menu items that are gluten free, but may others can be adjusted as well. I we'll be back again."

Server was annoying came by way to
much and never had what I really needed."

Enjoyed the New American meals
that was offered. Great bar, with even better food, def going back"

Our recent meal at Below the Radar
was my 46th birthday dinner. I made a reservation for four but needed to add two people a few hours before dinner. I called and BTR accommodated us. I appreciate that. The food was very good. We had the charcuterie board as an apppetizer. As it was a special occasion, I had a filet with a tomato rissotto and an arugula salad. Just great! I enjoyed the beer, the pïlsner on tap. It was quite loud on Thursday night but still quite fun. I like BTR and it is quickly becoming one of my favorite restaurants in Huntsville."
Dined on 9/27/2013
Had a great time. Really loved the
beer and food. There was no complaints. You did a great job accommodating our party of 8!"
Dined on 9/26/2013
We had a business associate in
town who some of us have never met. Below The Radar was a good spot to have a relaxing meal. Since it's not a formal place, we weren't pressured into the common business talk. The beer list allowed us to have much discussion about our favorites."
Dined on 9/24/2013
Well cooked and still juicy. Our
server, Bonnie, was not only helpful but very knowledgable. A great combination."
Dined on 9/10/2013
My husband and I dined at BTR for
the second time this week. Wonderful lunch and dinner! A happy place....energetic....really good service. We will definitely return!"
Dined on 8/30/2013
Good food, great service, poor
parking, somewhat noisy. Overall very good"
Dined on 8/21/2013
Keep in mind that we visited
"Under the Radar" during the early evening on a Tuesday. The food and beer were excellent! The service bordered on excellent. Our biggest objection - the place was loud from the time we walked through the door. As the evening progressed, the noise level increased to the point that carrying on a conversation with the person sitting immediately next to you became a useless endeavor. We'll go back - but we're thinking a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon might be more appropriate for our "likes" and "dislikes"."

I was really disappointed to see
how much they changed the menu. I have to limit my carbohydrate intake and they took off the spiced pecans which was the primary thing I was looking forward to during this trip. The rest of the food is still pretty amazing, but the old Menu was so much better."
Dined on 8/6/2013
The food is excellent, however the
noise level is so high it is impossible to carry on a conversation. Perhaps it is a good place for younger folk to meet. There is really no parking, therefore, I am sure it is more for the working crowd or the Loft crowd who either work or live downtown. I doubt I would make this a destination point to drive in from Jones Valley to eat very often."

Had a great time. Overall food and
the beer was great. Office staff was impressed. Thank you"

I usually eat here on my own when
I don't mind the noise, but brought a friend on Friday 26 July 13. The beer selection is fabulous, and the food is always awesome. My personal favorite, and the favorite of my friends from Alaska that have come here with me, is the fish and chips. The cod portions are generous, the fries are well seasoned and perfectly cooked, and the batter on the fish is not overwhelming or overcooked. We had lamb chops as an appetizer on this visit; AMAZING! Well-seasoned, seared impeccably, and the bed of mushrooms and potatoes served as a great start to another wonderful meal. Bottom line, this is a good place for great beer selections, amazing food, just don’t expect to be able to carry a reasonable conversation."

We chose Below the Radar to
celebrate my husband's birthday with friends. The service and food were exceptional!"
Dined on 7/25/2013
Below the Radar is an unexpected
find for the Huntsville area. Great food with some unusual, but delicious, choices. Fabulous beer selection and our waitress was extremely knowledgable, helpful and responsive. I especially love all the GF choices."
Dined on 7/24/2013
Had a reat evening there with a
couple of friends - Open Table reservation was a short cut and definately helped. Food was great, beer was awesome and the service by Louis was OUTSTANDING"
Dined on 7/17/2013
My wife and I have been here on
3-5 different occasions and each time has been great. The food is excellent and the service is top notch. It's so nice to have an upscale, yet not upscale priced restaurant where you can dine on good food and feel safe. It's about a 10 mile drive from our house but well worth the trip. My favorite is the Fish and Chips, usually me wifey and I share this meal as the portion is to much for one person IMO. If you haven't tried Below The Rader please do so!!!"
Dined on 7/15/2013
The food was pretty good this
visit. However, I was a little surprised at how puny the asparagus was given that they are in season and are huge at the grocery store. I made a reservation for 6 and they didn't time the tables well. We ended up waiting an additional 20 minutes. That was a little frustrating, but manageable."
Dined on 7/12/2013
We really enjoyed our visit.
Having a table off to the side allowed us to be able to enjoy everyone's company without disturbance. Food was excellent as was the beer. Thanks."
Dined on 7/10/2013
Great beer list and very good
house made beers. Great food that is not typical pub grub. My dish of quail with summer greens was seasoned perfectly and was a perfect choice for a hot summer night. Will be back!"
Dined on 6/29/2013
I took my boyfriend here this past
Saturday for his birthday. Below The Radar was recommended by a member of my staff @ work. She said the food was amazing. And, it was! This place offers an extensive beer selection as well. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the service. Our waitress remembered that it was my boyfriend's bday because I wrote it in my reservation comments. How sweet! Definitely coming back!"
Dined on 6/15/2013
Nice selection of Gluten Free
items. It is really loud so if you are looking for a quiet relaxing dinner-this is not the place."
Dined on 6/13/2013
I love this place! I came in with
my parents to celebrate my birthday and had a blast. The food and service were awesome. Megan our server was friendly and attentive, I want for nothing the whole evening. Great bear list and finished with an incredible perfect manhattan. I will be back!!"
Dined on 6/11/2013
For a date night, my partner and I
decided we would check out Below the Radar. The food was quite good, server was knolegible attentive without over doing it, the price was reasonable, and their wine and beer list was quite extensive and varied. Our only complaint was the noise level. We were seated in what I assume was a secondary dining room down a hallway from the main dining area and bar, and because of this I was hoping for a nice quiet atmosphere where we could converse and enjoy our meal together. That was not the case, while the room was not overly crowded, the noise level was such that we had to lean across the table and almost yell to talk to each other. We ended up just trying to hurry and eat our food and leave."
Dined on 6/9/2013
This was our first time to Below
the Radar for brunch, and it was simply awesome! The food, the service, everything was great. Will definitely be back for brunch again!"
Dined on 5/26/2013
The food was very good but could
use a little more variety. There was an extensive beer list with many choices. Excellent place for beer aficionados. Service was good. Food was a little slow coming out."
Dined on 5/23/2013
Took my husband here for his
birthday. We were headed to the VBC for a show after. This was great because it is close to VBC, great service, speedy but EXCELLENT food! The toffee pie was Ahhhhh-mazing! Good beer, good food, fun with friends! The only thing better would be more comfy chairs and seating for a long dinner. The high chairs are not comfy for short people when your legs can't reach the bars! That would have made it perfect! But it was still worth it!"
