  • "This was a great dining experience. The meat was out of this world; every dish was delicious, and unusual. Only complaint was the noise level, which we had heard was very loud. I wasn't disappointed, but just know that it is very hard to hear anyone at your table. All cement and no noise absorbing material. But cool décor, great staff, wonderful food."

Waitress took forever to take out initial order, drinks took a whole to get but were delicious, food came out at a reasonable time. Would have ordered desert but it took to long to for the waitress to get back to us.. "

  • "This is not your mama's BBQ, and it isn't even your average Korean BBQ. BellyQ takes Korean BBQ to a new level with high-end ingredients like Wagu beef, and gourmet-takes on simple dishes like sweet potatoes. We had the BBQ feast, and there wasn't a dud among the dishes. I would go back just for the chard side digs which had an unexpected curry sauce. Our server was pleasant and knowledgeable, although he could have checked in more regularly. The 20th Century cocktail was an interesting new take on a classic, and the wine on tap was a. Ice alternative to standard bottles."

  • "Went for an unplanned brunch after the Hawks game. Food was great, with unassuming portions, which was nice. Too many places give way too much food for comfort. Only possible concern was the amount of protein with the dish, a couple thinly sliced pieces of beef. Otherwise the meal was extremely well prepared. We didn't get to brunch until around 2pm, so the restaurant was pretty empty. As a result, service was extremely attentive and friendly. "

  • "Great ambience, soft lighting in a contemporary styled restaurant. Spacious, rarely a long wait to get seated, easy street parking. Quality of food will meet the needs of any foodie and wait staff was attentive, but not in your face! On par with other Randolph street restaurants - not a late-night party venue, but more of a moderately noisy place you take a date or friends to where you can actually hear each other talk without raising your voice. Will be returning for many future visits. "

  • "I really love the sauces, textures, and preparations of so many items. Menu is a bit eclectic, which I really like and everything I have tried seems to work well. My only very minor beef is beer is poured into 12oz glasses that look like 6oz pours making it feel like your being a bit cheated on portion. Foos portions however a nice and in some cases large."

  • "When asked, the server made thoughtful suggestions. He was very knowledgeable about how to create a well-planned meal. Usually, at shared plate locations, we make the mistake of ordering a bunch of "stuff" that doesn't make sense. Not here. The food was delicious. Highly recommended for West Loop, Restaurant Row fans who want to try something different."

  • "The food was good but the portion I order was wanting. I had a full order of Wagyu Korean Short Ribs. The presentation was attractive and gave the illusion of a generous portion of beef. Unfortunately, at least half of the serving was bone. I left disappointed."

  • "My friend and I had a 9:15 reservation but arrived around 8:45. The hostess said we could sit at the bar because they probably would not seat us until closer to our reservation. After about 10 minutes we were seated. When we were escorted to our table half the restaurant was empty. A little frustrating. Once seated no none greeted the table for 15 minutes. I eventually had to get up and let someone know. Bottom line service was not good but the food was great."

  • "We found out Everything is made up in advance , no changes allowed, if you have food allergies beware. Our waiter listened to our request , went back to the kitchen , came back and said no problem, and when our order came up it was like he never put our request in, and then it took forever to find him . What a joke! And the noise level is unbelievable!!!"

  • "Loved the food - bacon pancake, kale and papaya salad, lamb sticky buns, trout, Vietnamese donuts, etc! However, service could have been better. Had to ask for more water several times and dishes were not cleared in a timely manner. This was my second time here and service was great the first time. That being said, I would not let that keep me from going back because the food is so unique and delicious!"

  • "We stuck to a few of the shared plates part of the menu, which was enough food for the two of us. The Thai Fried Chicken had a nice kick to it. Rib Tips were fine, but not as great as the fried chicken we tried before it. The Goat Milk Feta Pancake was a light ending of our dinner. The soft serve dessert was great and something you should give a try."

  • "I love Belly Shack; this was my first time at Belly Q. I wish it was closer- I live on the North side, because I would definitely get take out from Urban Belly all the time,love their menu. I had the lamb buns, lamb a bit tough & the bacon pancake, which was good but a bit dry until I drenched in sauce. My friend is a vegetarian, so his choices were limited. Donut dessert was good. I would try the beef dishes if I go back."

  • "The Korea wagyu beef short ribs is the best dish here and it's better than the yangnyum galbi (marinated beef ribs) offered at Korean BBQ restaurants in Chicago. In general, most dishes could use a little less salt but no one's going to BellyQ for a low sodium meal in any event."

  • "We had a 5:30 reservation and the music was loud. By the time we left, we couldn't carry on a conversation. The food was good but the portions are uneven. For the main course we ordered the smoke duck breast and the beef ribs. My husband finished his duck breast and was still hungry. Fortunately there was lots of beef ribs. The price is on the high side for what was served."

  • "One of my favorite restaurants that doesnt get enough attention. Everyone should give their dinner a try. We recently went for brunch and found it equally enticing. Their menu is a bit different and longer than what is posted on-line but had many fantastic options. Out group had so many things that we wanted to try we already decided we would be going back again one of these next few weekends. Standouts were the steak and eggs (special) and the huckleberry waffles. The Banana/cinnamon shake was good too, but smaller (still probably just the right amount to drink, but less than we thought we could get for $4). This is a brunch place everyone should give a try. Only wished they opened before 11."

  • "My husband and I went to BellyQ to celebrate our anniversary. We were looking for something fun, reasonable, with great food. BellyQ did not disappoint. We decided to share different dishes, so that we could try a number of items from the menu. Our favorites were the Thai fried chicken appetizer (sauce was amazing) and the sticky lamb buns with mint - fantastic. We also tried the soba noodle salad (good, not great), delicious and very tender baby back pork ribs (small order) with a wonderful Asian slaw, and the Chinese broccoli (kind of oily). Next time we would order a side of sticky buns as well (it looked like most tables did this). We will be back and will definitely recommend BellyQ to friends."

  • "The interior is neat and if I came again I would like the high top table that looks into the kitchen. My mom is a vegetarian, but that posed no problem and our server was quick to answer questions and help with selections. The fried tofu with the papaya and pickled onions provided great flavor and texture contrasts. The tofu hot pot was delicious as were the rice noodles in it. I had the Korean short ribs I slathered them with the hoisin BBQ sauce and the hot sauce on the table.Despite being full, we shared the soft serve with the coconut and roasted pineapple. Mmmmmm. Service was attentive, but not overwhelming. Fun atmosphere. I bought a bottle of Belly Buster ghost pepper sauce to share with my kitchen crew back in Wisconsin."

  • "I've not been to any of the "Bellys" previous to this visit, so was not sure what to expect from this mashup. The food, service, and atmosphere were far beyond what I usually expect from the Randolph corridor. Our group of four shared three appetizers, three entrees, and some sides, all of which were delightful. I highly recommend the sweet potatoes, the duck, and the hot pot. We didn't experience the grilling, but am eager to return for another experience."

  • "Four of us ate at Belly Q Saturday night before the Bulls Game. Everything was great with the restaurant and food until they served what I was most interested in tasting. I wanted to try the Wood grilled chicken with peanut noodle salad and mint. It turns out that the meat was smoked. I hate smoked meat and nowhere in the description did it say that. If wood grilled meant smoked, then I would have known, but fyi, it is smoked!! I did not care for the taste at all, but everything else, including the service was very good."

Very upbeat (even though a little loud!); outstanding service and excellent innovative food with the most interesting pairings and flavorings! Defintely a Chicago destination --- even free street parking! Recommend making a reservation."

  • "I really enjoyed my meal here. I went with three friends and we ordered a bunch of plates to share including the ribs (which they are known for), the vegetarian hot pot, and several appetizers. It was all very good. The hot pot was particularly memorable as was the side of sweet potatoes. The decor was minimalist and modern. I'll definitely be returning."

Service was excellent - there when we needed it, not when we didn't. Dining room is very open, high ceiling hard materials, so a little noisy for my taste, but a really lovely place overall."

  • "You have to get the smoked beef ribs, they trump some of the best barbecue in the city. The sides are delicious but sadly, tiny. Make sure to order a couple pancakes as well if you have anything over 4 people, as those are small as well."
