  • "We came from Plano to celebrate my birthday...it could not have been more fabuous! The lanai-style dining on a beautiful night set the tone. Dinner was interesting and so delicious...and the drinks were amazing...again very different! Our waitress was wonderful..very attentive and loved her delightful descriptions. She was most helpful in making our selections...which we all enjoyed. The full experience was EXTRORDINAIRE!!! We are putting Belly & Trumpet on our favorites list and will return."

  • "Great porch if weather is on your side. Inside dining room is small enought to feel cozy, but far from croweded. Excellent bar keeps, with strong suggestions on and off menu. Crab Beignets are a must, Fois gras tourchon is outstanding. Oysters two ways were, well, oysters two ways- spicy and savory both with appropriately present briney goodness. Lobster specials were well prepared and the saucier performed well. Beef and Chicken spent very little time on the plate. We were a bit apprehensive with a few larger groups arriving at the same time, but that was short lived. The waitors divided and conquered with knowing style, solid recommendations, and service that significantly exceeded expectations."

  • "A friend and I went on a Monday night to catch up. We shared several of the small plates - the brussel sprouts are especially delicious! The food and service were great. We sat on the patio, but the inside is quite charming so I will try that next time. If you're lucky, you'll get Pamela as your waitress - she is fabulous!"

  • "Sometimes this place is so great, and other times...well, it is just inconsistent. This time, a Thursday, it was not great. I had the artichoke salad I so love. This time it was swimming in the dressing and the greens were not fresh. I know how good it can be, so this was a big disappointment. In the past, the smoked quail has been served warm. This time it was room temperature and thus not as good IMO. Still, I will go back."

  • "The food was delicious. We had artichoke salad, caviar salad, and tuna tartare as starters. For a main course we shared the lobster and pork belly -- incredible!! The banana dessert was so yummy. Everything was delicious and I would absolutely go back. I had the So Cal Flurry as a cocktail. I didn't really like that. It was like drinking a jolly rancher -- way to sweet."

  • "Our first time and we we were amazed by the chefs offerings! We shared 4 small plates of crab beignets with Pernod aioli, foie de gras, gnocchi and quail! Everything was fabulous and enough for two for dinner! Thursday night half price wine special was a great surprise! Service was gracious! Can't wait to go back!"

  • "For those that like to try new things, and experience new flavors, this is a great place! All components of the dishes were well thought out, and the flavors went great together. The snow fungus was A-mazing, such awesome flavor. The quail was equally wonderful, I just couldn't get enough. Had the duck and branzino as the large entrees, and both were great. Cocktails were fun and delicious too. As you can tell, we really enjoyed eating here!! I highly recommend trying this place out."

  • "I have been to B & T several times and it is occasionally just good, but the last meal I had there was superb. The gnocchi with paneer was innovative and tasty, as was the artichoke salad made with fresh artichokes. The music has been toned down so that the entire dining experience is lovely. Will go back again soon."

  • "Starters included Tartar, Crab Beignets, Gnocchi, Cavier, Baby Greens and Smokey Eggs. Everything was presented beautifully and was delicious as evidenced by the "cleaned plates". Main courses included a couple of branzinos (one filet and one whole), smoked duck breast and a kobe burger. Another round of cleaned plates!. Desserts included Chocolate Mousse, Banana Coco and their Goat Cheese and Apple dessert. Outstanding! We polished off 3 bottles of really nice pinot noir (1/2 price on Thursday) which went well with all the dishes. The loud music was gone too. Nice. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive as was the entire staff. Definitely a keeper in our restaurant rotation."

  • "We've been here many times since it's opened, and have been mildly disappointed only once (but hey, New Years Eve, what do you expect..) Fortunately they quickly moved from the overly expensive but wonderful tapas, it was just too little for too much. They now have larger portions as well as several small plates. The oysters are just too small, but delicious. The duck breast is a great choice, whole branzini is a little difficult but tasty, not our favorite. Service is very good, ask for Rebecca. Challenge the bartender, he's up to it."

  • "We don't think this restaurant has any real longevity in Dallas. There were four of us at dinner - two couples and we couldn't hear ourselves speak. The restaurant had such loud music people were complaining all around us. We were going to have dinner at Belly and Trumpet again in March with two other couples and are cancelling our reservation. It's really poor judgment for the management team to have such loud music"

  • "Went here Valentine's weekend and it was well worth it. The place is small but it gives off that cozy romantic vibe. Me and my wife enjoyed a snack, small plate, large plate and dessert. We each decided to get something different and all of the food was fantastic. We left extremely full and happy. This is a gourmet place so yes expect to have some high priced items and your plates not overflowing with food, but everything we had was delicious. They didn't even ask how I wanted my filet mignon cooked, they just made it right - a sign of a good restaurant. This is definitely our new favorite restaurant in uptown, or the DFW area for that matter, and we will be back!"

  • "We went to dinner at Belly and Trumpet on a Monday but they still had a pretty good crowd. It is a small restaurant, one room, in a converted house. The menu was very creative. We had the beet salad and crab beignets for starters and both were very good. I had the scallops and pork belly and the scallops were done perfectly - very tender and flavorful with just a little bit of crunchiness on the outside. My husband had the kobe burger with the egg and mushrooms and was very happy with his. The ambience was very nice and the service was friendly and attentive. I would recommend Belly and Trumpet."

  • "When I looked at the menu, this was not a place that someone like me would go. The menu is full of ingredients that I neither could recognize or pronounce And the few things that I did recognize did not seem to go together. I had heard so many good reviews about this place, that we decided to take the plunge. Our food was sensational and the staff delivered even better service. The menu looked intimidating to me but was glad that I took the plunge. Dallas is full of great restaurants and this is one of the few that I not only enjoyed but could not wait to go back - even though the menu is a little pricey."

  • "It was a bit hard to tell as I made a valentines day reservation, but had no idea it was a pre fixed menu. Listen I should have guessed it would be a pre fix menu, but I chose B&T because of their electric menu and I got a beef tenderloin. All of that being said, the good was good."

Excellent food combined with wonderful service made this a delightful experience. My duck was tender and quite flavorful. Lobster and fatback was an interesting combination of flavors."

  • "Everything clicked and even what didn't click at 100% was overcome by charm and humor. Very busy night for them so there were a few holes in the service, however, they were addressed with grace and humor rather than excuses. The food was perfect - the wine pairing was probably the best I've had - there were no weak links in the pairings. We could not have had a better time."

Although the food was well-prepared I feel like we got the boring prix fixe menu that you typically see during Restaurant Week."

  • "We enjoyed the meal and mix of small plates and larger plate options. They had quite a few wine options and luckily the wine was being offered for half price. The biggest drawback is the parking. You have to valet park several doors away and you aren't aware that is where you need to park."

  • "I went with a date and had a really top-notch dining experience. The waiter was attentive, but not overbearing. Found a nice Cabernet at a reasonable price (Mettler 2010). My duck was great, and she had some kind of beet thing she liked (vegetarian). Brussels sprouts side dish was delicious. I'll be back soon."

Crab beignets are a great small plate for sharing. Wife loved the Lobster and Pork Belly. Service was pleasant. Kind of casually formal which made you feel really good and fits the atmosphere."

  • "Drinks are hand crafted and delicious. My friend, not used to the Mixology world, commented on the length of time it took to make her drink. But when she took her first sip, she realized it was well worth the extra effort. Food was outstanding. The duck was cooked perfectly. Highly recommend B&T."

  • "Wow! I was so impressed with Belly and Trumpet. Made a reservation last minute for Tuesday night. It wasn't very packed so perfect for my evening. We had a wonderful server, Bill, who was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The food...out of this world! One of the best meals I've had in a long time. I had the Baby Green Salad, Beef Tenderloin, and Chocolate Mousse for dessert. I can't remember my cocktail name but I had two and they should win awards. Cannot say enough about this great restaurant! I hope it's around for awhile as I have recommended to everyone I run into. Can't wait to try the other restaurants in this group. ps. I can't wait to go back when it's warmer because the outdoor dining looked very cozy."

  • "If you like small plates you will like this restaurant. We were with a larger group that we do not know that well so sharing seemed a bit awkward. The food was unremarkable and you end up not eating that much food and getting big bill. If you are with friends, the small plate concept works better. I still like to order what I want and eat it."
