  • "My recent visit to Bellissimo was disappointing. While the drinks were excellent, they constantly tried to get you to order more expensive dishes and would not substitute vegetables in a dish I ordered. More importantly, I found the food mediocre. On my veal with artichokes & sundried tomatoes, the artichokes were not fresh but briney... the sauces had too much flour and the meat was only all right. This restaurant was always a standout... not anymore... and especially not for the price."

  • "No one would ever use the word "moderate" referring to the prices at Bellissimo's. But, by the same token, no one would ever use the word "average" referring to their food. In both cases, "impressive" would seem more appropriate. The prices are not quite NYC, but close. However, their fish is fresh and beautifully prepared and their veal is about as good as it gets. Being perfectly honest, there aren't many restaurants these days in which the owner is almost always there. Bellissimo's is one, and it shows."

  • "This is a beautiful, elegant restaurant with fine dining. The hostesses were polite and smiling. They were not clear whether our table was ready or if they needed a few minutes. Our waiter was a very friendly man who made every attempt to make the diners feel welcomed. It would be nice if he shortened the chit chat and focused more on serving the tables. The coat check struggled to find our coats... The restaurant is worthwhile. The organization and flow of the restaurant experience could use tweaking."

  • "We dined on VDay. We arrived on time and RUDELY told that we had to wait 30 min! No apologies. The staff was fighting with each other in front of the customers. I asked for a latte and was laughed at. The bartender was sarcastic about VDay and people going out. But the food and drinks were great!"

  • "Went for a 6 day early Valentine's Day meal with my bride of 30 years. Knew only amateurs would be there on Feb. 14th.Staff is friendly, engaging, and easy to deal with. Nice bar, even to eat at. Service is experienced, but strained to the limits. Appetizers were better than the dinners, and several specials were sold out.. Portions are plentiful, and tasty though. Drinks are were made, and reasonably priced for a high end restaurant. Skipped dessert, as we were quite full. Not my first time here, nor the last. Very nice upscale eatery for a special night out."

  • "We went early on a Saturday night at 6:40 just two of us and we did not finish until 9:20. The service started out ok but then went down hill fast. There were definitely too few chefs in the kitchen that night but it was our waiter that was totally clueless. He was very nice and charming but did not follow up. The busboy was new and was not trained by anyone. Our breadbasket was still on the table when we were given our dessert. Not worth it."

  • "We have been to Bellissimo's a number of times and decided to spend a quiet New Year's Eve there. We weren't disappointed. We got there early and had drinks at the bar which is set up well. We were then taken to a small room with a fireplace and it was very romantic for a New Year's dinner for two. The food was outstanding as always and the service top notch. Thanks for making a great New Year's celebration. We will be back soon!"

  • "Went for new year's eve and we were seated in a timely manner which was one of the only positives of the night. The server we had was preoccupied with other things and did not offer any helpful menu suggestions when asked. One of the other servers decided to berate our server on the dining floor where our table and the other tables around us heard everything they were talking about. My husband's veal marsala came out and although tasted good, it did not come with anything - no starch or vegetable. My chilean sea bass was decent but a bit salty as was the woman's at the table next to us. The bill came and for 2 people 133 dollaers was ways too much."

  • "Ambiance was lovely! Black napkins given to us so no white lint would get on our clothes (as my husband & myself were wearing black). Very thoughtful! The best Calamari, not only delicious, but so tender & lightly battered. Our entree's superb!! Meat & veal so tender, cut like butter. Gnocci was as light as a feather!! Service attentive, we were not rushed. Wonderful selection of wines for all pocketbooks. Will definitely return. Caesar was our wonderful waiter. He made Christmas dinner even more enjoyable!"

  • "Food was ok but the service was beyond poor. The server didn't know the menu at all and when asked just ran away from the table. The host was very rude and sat us in the lounge saying he didn't have any other seats when in reality he did. Do yourself a favor and go to rare instead."

  • "We just recently moved to NJ from out of state and decided to go out to dinner on Christmas Eve. We got off to a poor start - we were promptly seated, but then we sat. No water, no wait staff. Nothing. Tables around us had waiters going to and fro, but we were an island unto ourselves. After more than five minutes, I got up and made it half way to the hostess stand before I was intercepted by a waiter who said there had been a mix up and he apologized and escorted me back to the table and then took care of us. Despite the rocky start, our waiter was wonderful, the food was very good (I had the tri-color salad and the cappelini with crabmeat), and we would definitely give Bellisimo's another try."

  • "This is a returning trip for us, and not to be disappointed again. Food was fabulous. We ordered the Seafood appetizer which was a meal onto itself. We also ordered the scallops and Rack of Lamb, yummy. Service was outstanding and everything else was tremendous. IT was a great way to spend our anniversary there."

  • "Great food, but pricy compared to other Italian restaurants in the area. For about half the price of this place you can get an equally delicious,... authentic Italian dish elsewhere. Most off putting was the way people dressed: waiters in tuxes, customers in everything from jeans and polo shirts to suits on others. I wore a blazer, because when dining at this price level I expect the restaurant to be up-do. Service was outstanding and refreshingly honest about the dishes."

It's a place you can go dressed up- or less dressed up- and the food was great , simple food. If you want 'food channel' fusion food- don't go here. If you want a nice steak, pasta, crab meat salad, veal or chicken- this is the place- ! I loved it."

  • "This was our first time here and the hostess at te desk right from the moment we walked was very friendly and welcoming. I had made a request to sit a booth or larger table and the hostess suggested a table off of the lounge area that was perfect. It was a little more romantic and intimate setting then in the dining area. The food was all very good and the service was also. They had a piano player which was also very nice."

  • "FOOD IS UNPROFESSIONALLY PREPARED. BY THAT I MEAN THE ORECHIETTE WITH SAUSAGE AND BROCCOLI HAD NO SAUCE TO FLAVOR THE PASTA, IT HAD A 3/4 INCH OF OLIVE OIL IN THE BOTTOM OF THE DISH. JUST AN OILY DISH NOT WORTH HAVING. THE SPADINI WAS NOT DONE IN INDIVIDUAL PIECES, IT WAS A LOAF WHICH NIGHT BE OK BUT WASN'T. I WAS DRY AND IT WAS 90% BREAD WITH A MINUSCULE AMOUNT OF MOZZARELLA. THE SCAMPI SAUCE DIDN'T SAVE THIS DISH."

  • "I will first say the food was great and the restaurant itself is very nice inside with a bar that is not loud. That being said, they have over 30 specials who can remember what the server said? And we had some no dairy at our table they asked specifically for vegetables with no butter that came as a side dish. The vegetables came with butter on them. They put a cream sauce on the plate with the salmon so the server was not listening. But when everything was straightened out the food was delicious. Need to listen when there are dietary demands."

  • "We enjoyed the food from Appy to the Dessert. We had four people in our party and everyone thought their meal was great. The only problem was the service was below average. We all enjoyed our food but the poor service put a kink in the night. Our waiter Fabio was completely distracted throughout our meal and we had to ask for someone to get him twice. We did notice the table next to us with another waiter received great service....When you see waiters in a Black tux you expect that professionalism. The restaurant was also very loud and it was difficult to hear your conversation."
