Really outstanding food. Delightful service. Sadly we were seated under an air-conditioning vent or something even though it was a cool evening, and so we were too cold.

Dined here for our twins 22nd birthday. We were squished into a table in the middle of the room....two in our party are about 6'4", so a little tight for them. The food was good, but I was disappointed they did not bring some dessert out for the kids b-day. I had put in the reservation note that it was their birthday and our waiter greeted them with a "Happy Birthday", so they were aware of the celebration. But overall it was a nice evening.

This is a great neighborhood restaurant and a wonderful place for a celebration. Using OpenTable, I requested not only an early reservation (5:30) and a window table, but also noting it was my friend’s birthday. I was delighted upon arriving that a window table was awaiting us. We ordered a flight of red wine and selected our dinner from the tasting menu. The timing of delivery of the courses was perfect--not too soon and not too late, and the food was outstanding. When dessert was served, my friend’s chocolate panna cotta had a lit candle on it--they had paid attention to my online request. This restaurant never fails to deliver on service, food, and ambience. I will continue coming here and recommending it to friends for a very long time.

We each ordered one of the 2 nightly dinner tasting menus offered which gave us a fabulous introduction to the skill and creativity of the chef and kitchen staff who enjoy using fresh, local organic ingredients that are beautifully prepared. From the meatballs and cauliflower fritters to the baby beets and figs to the steak with roasted vegetables all the way to the cheese plate and chocolate panna cotte...! However, I would go there for the Malfatti alone - amazing, they are not to be missed... While this may not have been a meal for everyday living, it certainly was one to remember. We can't wait for an opportunity to go back!

I've never been disappointed with Bellanico. The food is always interesting, fresh, well prepared and beautifully presented. It's always a reliable choice and we bring visiting guests frequently who are always impressed, no matter where they come from-NYC, SF, LA, Seattle, Europe. What a neighborhood gem! The only drawback is that it is sometimes very noisy and the tables are very close together.

It was the birthday of a friend and we gathered to take him out. We were 5. Waiter handled everything including questions in the most agreeable manner. One of our party, a woman with an incurable illness, felt cold and the waiter was even able to bring her a blanket. Food was interesting, portions were generous, lighting just right. Even though it is nearby we had never tried it, though it has a great reputation. We were not disappointed.

Food was outstanding and service very friendly and not pushy. Brought in a bottle of wine and that was no problem-helped with chilling wine. Great variety of courses on menu and there is also a wonderful prix fixe four course dinner for $34 per person and you can get wine for each course for an extra $18 per person.

I came to this charming little place for the first time a few weeks ago and was very pleasantly surprised! Everything we ordered from the apps to the desserts were super delicious. And I'm not well versed on Italian wines so I told the waiter what I wanted and he knew exactly which one to recommend --it was delicious!

Our only regret is we don't live close enough to make this our neighborhood restaurant. Always welcoming, and with food that changes around a solid core of Italian offerings. This time the red beet stuffed raviolis were just outstanding, as was the duck breast with confit leg. Especially loved the Hen-of-the-Woods mushrooms! The wine flights are a nice addition for those less familiar with Italian wines.

We love this place, what a find. The dishes are creative and for the most part well executed. My only complaint was the dinner (duck and porkchop) were not warm, although the confit portion of the duck dish was toasty warm. We did tell the waiter, they need to work on timing a bit. Otherwise, no complaints. Squash blossoms and squid app were great. And the peach blackberry tart was one of the best desserts I've had in a while.

Bellanico is always a special treat. The interior feels like home, but in a restaurant setting. The food is really excellent and for reasonable prices. We had a small plate of Caulifower Fritters that I could have ordered 10 more plates of they were so melt-in-your-mouth-delicious! All of the food was excellent except that the edges of the filled pastas were a bit dry and undercooked. That said, the oxtail filling was fabulous. Unfortunately, there was a woman sitting next to us that was literally screaming for her companion across the table to be heard (he had a hearing aid). This was very uncomfortable, but we asked to move and were accommodated, so can't blame the owners for that. Bellanico is truly a neighborhood gem!

I've eaten here before but didn't recall the lengthy enticing pasta menu. We had Sunday's fixed price dinner. Exquisite melt in your mouth fish cannoli; likewise for the pork belly. Cauliflower fritters and beet pasta were quite good. Zeppolini (little doughnuts with sage custard and chocolate sauce) were good. Only disappointment was ricotta, mission figs and toast dessert, all of which were dry and uninteresting; could have been improved with drizzled honey. So we ordered cookie plate, too; the light little chocolate hazelnut ones were to die for. I'm bringing back friends so we can order all the pastas (which come in two sizes).

Had dinner here once before (7-8 months ago) and thought 2 of 3 dishes were very good but this time the food was adequate but not anything I would want to have again. I felt the flavors were not very distinctive, especially sauces that were meant to enhance. I tried two different white wines (glasses--generous pours) that were suggested by the server and liked them very much, and my companion liked his dessert.
