I had the farm to table salad which was absolutely delicious followed by the monkfish with gnocchi, served in a light flavorful sauce that was exquisite. Coming from L.A. We're exposed to many restaurants. This is one of the best. We'll be back and we highly recommend."

  • "My friend & I had dinner here recently for the 1st time. We had no expectations but had heard that it was good. We had a wonderful evening. The wine was good, the food delicious & the wait staff were all very friendly, helpful & provided excellent service. When we arrived, we entered through the bar & it was full of people having a good time. Looks like a fun place, not sure if they have happy hour specials. We will definitely return with family & friends & have already told several people about our great experience here & recommended that they try it."

  • "We saw an article in San Diego Home and Garden about this place and decided to check it out. Our expectations were not high but we were blown away - the experience was awesome. The food, the service and variety of wines offered were all excellent. Yes, it's a bit loud but not uncomfortably loud. The butternut squash soup was amazing. We had the scallops and the bacon wrapped monkfish and both were very good. The Tempranillo wine was a real find and not common on many wine lists. This is now on the lists of our favorite places!"

None of us had eaten here before and without exception, loved everything from the seafood main courses, Jidori chicken, unique handmade chocolates dessert and the wonderful roasted brussel sprouts appetizer (we ordered more). Friendly and attentive servers. Have nothing but good things to report and we will return again."

I want to try all their dishes they all look so good. The noise level wasn't to bad most small places are very noisy.I am a hairstylist and my husband is a realtor we live in the area and We will definitely recommend this place it is a jewel."

  • "We decided to try Bellamy's with another couple since Bellamy's is in the Passport Unlimited restaurant group. The food is delicious with great presentation. The service is superb. I had the white bean soup and the pork cheeks dinner. My wife had a salad and the scallop dinner. We were amazed. Prices are steep, charging $14 for my wife's salad and $12 for my bean soup, and $25 and up for dinners, but we received one $27 dinner for free with the Passport Unlimited card. We will definitely return for a special night out."

  • "Called spur of the moment and wanted a nice dinner. Food was great! Beet salad and beet sorbet were quality, ink squid with risotto was fine, shaved veggie salad was great. Sea bass and scallops were the two entrees and both were perfectly cooked and delicious. Spent time with Trevor the manager for a wine pairing and the selections were perfectly matched with the various foods. Service was quite good. A very pleasant experience overall. Yes, I would go again."

  • "We were a party of 3 and each of us had one of the weekend specials...they were all 3 amazing. My husband had the beef short ribs which were rich, robust and beautifully presented. Our guest had the tableside sole which she loved. I had the most perfectly cooked lamb chop with white beans that was just as wonderful as my favorite...cassoulet. It was a lovely surprise. No one can beat Xavier as a server and the entire Bellamy's staff is absolutly top of the line. It is so nice to be greeted and served as a real guest and not a customer....I wish more places were like that."

  • "We had a new waitress that was a little nervous however she was very friendly and we are not picky at all. Overall the food was very good. I ordered one of the specials of the night (Braised Short Ribs) and the sauce was incredible. As I got into the meal, the meat was very cold in the center however the waiter promptly took care of it and comp'ed us desert. I don't want to detract from the restaurant as their service more than saved the experience. Everyone was extremely friendly and courteous."

  • "Perhaps it was Sat of Valentine's weekend, but the combination of essentially a full house, tables way too close to each other, and a couple boisterous groups made for a noise level throughout that was typical of a sports bar on Fri. night at happy hour. Too bad, the service was great, and the food memorable, but the noise so badly detracted from the experience that I doubt if we will be willing to risk ruining another fine dining experience."

  • "Valentines Day is the hardest day of the year to excel in the restaurant business. The experienced kitchen staff did a superb job with a full house and 3 seating's. My wife had an excellent sea bass and I had a fine rendition of rack of lamb. My tuna tartar appetizer was wonderful. My wife's mushroom ravioli was tasty but a bit heavy. They made a romantic holiday even better handing out roses to all the female guests. The service was well trained and attentive. We can't wait to go back and try the place on a quieter night."

  • "Came in with 2 out of town seniors who, at my suggestion the night before, dined at Vintana's. Having been in the car business before, they were blown away with the entire "experience"....both visual and culinary. Bellamy's chefs, in my opinion, can do cart-wheels around Vintana's Debra Scott...and they did so for all 4 of us. The entree presentations were incredible & the flavor & creativenss of the dishes matched. Bravo! The Sea Bass special was wonderful. The flavor & presentation of the pork cheeks almost made me wish I had ordered it....and the Salmon portion, preparationa & presentation was rewarded with empty plates. Only thing missing in the dining room is "personality". Decor is drab and "blah" and needs a decorator's touch."

  • "We live no where near Escondido, yet Bellamy's is well worth the drive. Our group of four shared every dish so that we could get a broad swipe of their solid menu. For starters we enjoyed the brussels sprouts, but loved the mushroom ravioli as we as the mushroom flatbread. We ordered two flavorful soups and an exceptional endive salad. The chicken and rock fish special were standouts, yet we agreed we would try something different than the lamb shank. We splurged and ordered four desserts that were exceptional. Bellamy's is a find. The décor in the back room where we dined was pedestrian, but the bar area (featuring a live piano) was a great spot for us to enjoy our dessert. We will return."

  • "My husband and I really enjoy Bellam's and dine there often....especially when we like the weekend specials. For a beef/steak lover however, the weekend specials really don't augment the lack of beef selection on the regular menu which only has ribeye to offer.My husband asked if there was anything else in the kitchen a lovely, perfectly cooked fillet was provided. However, I thought the$50 entree only price (we had ordered appetizers separately) was a bit steep, especially since the rib eye on the regular menu was priced at $44. Other than that minor quibble all was great...you absolutely can NOT beat the service and genuine warmth of the atmosphere and Jim the pianist is well worth an adjournment to the lounge after dinner."

The food preparation and presentation is definitely above average, much better than what you'd find in any if the nouveau trendy restaurants offering boring me-too stuff.   • "First, the mixed drinks were prepared perfectly and served in appropriate glasses/mugs. Beer tap list was not long, but good representatives of each type listed. For first course, try the mushroom ravioli...exceptionally hearty sauce and filling in delicate pasta. Entries had interesting variety of vegetable accompanyments. There are pleasant surprises everywhere, such as grapefruit sections on the creme brule. Excellent, attentive, wait staff. Noise level was relatively high, so I had to be very attentive to follow table conversation."
