A word from Bella Vista at Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara
A convergence of California cuisine with contemporary Italian influences takes center stage at Bella Vista. The oceanfront restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner created by Executive Chef Alessandro Cartumini and his talented culinary team with a focus on the freshest seasonal, local and organic ingredients. The bountiful daily breakfast includes fresh juices, pastries and local fruits, while the legendary Sunday brunch, featuring fresh local seafood, is a must. Known as the Central Coast's premiere "power lunch" spot, Bella Vista serves up a mix of California-Italian cuisine midday. At dinner, a diverse selection of sumptuous pastas, braised meats, pizzas and fresh seafood comprise the menu, which is accompanied by an extensive wine list that showcases many California labels. After dinner, an array of decadent, regionally inspired desserts awaits. Bella Vista also offers weekly dinner events, a popular children's menu and traditional Afternoon Tea. Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "A beautiful venue to see the ocean, surf, and a sunset too. The food was great and the staff could not have been more efficient. A real gem and free valet parking to boot."

  • "We went for dinner for my Mom's birthday and to be honest it was a bit disappointing. We have gone to the Biltmore for decades, especially for brunch and in the past it has always meet our expectations. This time, our waitress did not know the proper way to serve and would reach across the table and mixing up our orders. Normally this would not be an issue @ a normal restaurant, but this is the Biltmore. We expect more. And the food was good, but for the price & reputation was again disappointing. The "Crispy Skin" duck had firm skin but in no way crispy and was very under-seasoned. Ditto the lamp. Our appetizers were very good and the desert (chocolate Soufflé) was great. But the entrees did not meet expectations by a long shot"

  • "Eat on the patio and watch the sunset .... we love doing this. The sound and smell of the ocean breezes, changing colors of the sky, with excellent food and service. It's an experience to truly enjoy every time."

  • "I had never been to the four seasons before, although my hubby had been there often when he was younger and his parents lived in the area. Loved the lush gardens and the ocean vista. The hotel is opulent in the old world style. The restaurant was expansive as befits such a place. The wait staff was courteous and efficient but not particularly friendly, which also seems to be usual in a posh resort large dining room. We went for lunch and the food was good, but not particularly creative, perhaps a dinner menu might have been more interesting. Overall it was a pleasurable experience."

  • "Had to put a star for food to submit, but I did not taste a thing!!! Sat for 22 minutes looking over menu and not one person glanced our way, came to our table, said "I'll be right with you", took a drink order. Just completely ignored!!!! We watched three different waiters blow by are able without a glance. We got up and left, and no one seemed to notice. Went to a delicious sushi place and had a great night. This experience was ridiculous and infuriating. My husband and I only get go out to eat about five times a year. Can't wait to get write up their blatant rudeness on every review page I kind find!"

  • "My wife selected this for Valentine's Day. Back home in Florida we have stopped going out for dinner on Valentine's Day because the service is usually awful. But the Four Seasons Santa Barbara restored our faith in the ability to go out and enjoy a Valentine's Day dinner. Unlike most restaurants which would take as many reservations as they can and then put you one on top of another like sardines, here it was different. Like any other night they provided a beautiful meal in a first rate setting. Sat outside and couldn't have been more comfortable. Hats off to the Four Seasons as they always do it right!"

  • "This restaurant has it all. The atmosphere is like a step into paradise.. The decor is beautiful and artistic. The food is outstanding. What more would a person want. Plus it's in one of the mist beautiful hotels in the world."

  • "The brunch here, although expensive is worth every penny if you're looking for caviar, oysters, crab, omletts, lobster eggs benedict, sushi, desserts galore. Not someplace I'd go more than a couple times a year but a great place to impress out of towners. Food is excellent, service was attentive but not overwhelming. You can take your time and linger, listening to the waves crash, staring off to the channel islands, etc......."

  • "The Baltimore is a classy hotel, and Bella Vista is just as nice. The service is great, the ambiance is wonderful. However, you pay for the place, and not necessarily the food. The food is good, but nothing creative or special. The price reflects the location, not the complexity of the menu. I've had the same items at other restaurants that were much more flavorful and more creatively presented. Frankly, I was disappointed with the fish entree I ordered. I would return again, but only for the location."

  • "I had seen the photos on the website, so on my occasion passing through Santa Barbara, I made an appointment to meet at the Bella Vista outdoor terrace. From start to finish, the service was spectacular. I had a crab BLT and my freind had a Turkey sandwich. It was so delicious. Hope to return with others for enjoyable lunch in the sun and by the sea and try other menu items."

  • "Went to the Bella Vista at the Biltmore for New Year's Eve dinner. The ambience of the hotel and the Bella Vista was very festive, the service attentive, champagne flowed and the buffet plentiful, creative and delicious! It was the perfect venue to see in the new year."

  • "For $75.00 a person this brunch was not worth the money! Food was just OK! Champagne glasses were empty for too long! We don't drink that much! The view though of the ocean across the street was beautiful so sitting there waiting for our champagne was worth it. Would not go again."

  • "We had six in our party, 4 adults 2 children. We arrived a bit early for our reservation and there was absolutely no problem in being seated. All of the employees were more than gracious they make you feel they were waiting on you and your party exclusively. Once seated we headed for the brunch line and were overwhelmed with the amount and diversity of the offerings. Everything we tried was delicious, I had mentioned to my wife that even if it took 4 hours I was going to try everything on the menu. Starting with the salad station, to the soup station, I then went to my favourite which is the Seafood station. I made two trips to this station. I of course then went on to the rest. two hours and I was stuffed."

  • "We were disappointed in the dinner considering the price. Turkey was dry, we had a reservation at 8 pm and told at 10 minutes til 9 the buffet closes in 10 minutes. We were taking our time to enjoy the ocean sounds and views."

  • "We have been to many Four Seasons. This was lovely as always. Our server was a delightful young woman and all the help were very charming and pleasant. We had a nice table near the fireplace and were looking forward to a pleasant evening. The wine selection was very good as well. Unfortunately they served the meal so fast it was done in no time at all. Thank heavens for the dessert which was a real treat and something we could share and linger over. The appetizer and main course were rushed out , one on top of the other. Not very fine dining at all. We were disappointed."

  • "The views at sunset are breath-taking (outside dining). Chef's creations are superb! All fresh local ingredients. Everything on menu is delicious! Wine list is very good. Love the local options. Service is extremely attentive."

  • "Bella Vista is right - beautiful view! Our lunch on the outdoor patio was lovely - - service was perfect. Bring your AMEX card - you pay for the view - but there is a lot to be said for a leisurely lunch at the four seasons blltmore. Bowl of soup is least exp. item on the menu at $10.00 - to give you an idea."

  • "The food was amazing. Not the quality that you normally encounter when going to a buffet style brunch. The food tasted fresh and the staff were very attentive. They even brought out a special birthday message for our table. Next time we're in town, we are coming back for brunch!"

  • "We dined at Bella Vista in honor of our first anniversary. The staff welcomed us back and were so kind! We greatly appreciate their efforts in making the evening special. The food was excellent, and the view is amazing!! For dessert, they presented us with a "Happy Anniversary" themed treat! We will certainly be back next time we are staying at The Four Seasons, The Biltmore and look forward to the occasion."
