A word from Bella Tori at the Mansion
Respectable ladies & proper gentlemen used to convene in the parlor for a drink and a bit of conversation before adjourning to the dining room. It was a chance for everyone to transition from the frenetic pace of the outside world to the more leisurely & luxurious one of the dinner table. Sadly, this is a tradition that has vanished in our modern world. But, not at Bella Tori. Housed in an elegant mansion, this restaurant which means “Beautiful Tower” in Italian, Provides guests with a Victorian atmosphere & northern Italian cuisine that will calm even the most work weary heart. The rack of lamb which is particularly well prepared, as are the sea scallops over basil polenta. Enjoy! Lifestyle Magazine: This Victorian Mansion was built in 1895, and restoration began in 2000.In converting the Mansion into a northern Italian Restaurant, we have stayed true to all of the Mansions history & beauty.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Disappointed in the food. Presentation was good but food was lacking - could have been more flavorful."

  • "My boyfriend and I have eaten at Bella Tori Mansion twice now. We love it there. The food is excellent. The atmosphere is quaint and personal. Would go again and again."

  • "We went there on a Saturday night several years ago , when they first opened and we were the only one in the restaurant. Nice to see the place full and everyone seemed to be enjoying everything."

  • "My wife and I visited the restaurant on 03/29/14. We were disappointed with the food: it was tasteless. You cannot serve little portions and poor quality food. We ordered two appetizers and two courses. The appetizers did not have any taste, as well as the main courses. The two different main courses had the same brown sauce without taste. I would strongly recommend the owner(s) to change the chef."

  • "In comparison to other local upscale restaurants in Bucks County this one misses the mark. I had a filet which was decent but for the same price I have had better elsewhere in the area. The food overall was uninspiring and not worth the cost our server was absolutely terrible to the point that my wife had to grab other servers just to request water and other beverages. The overall theme of the restaurant was nice but for the price there are plenty of other place nearby worth your attention. We ended up trying this restaurant because we were given two gift cards, we have one of those gift cards left and won't be using it..."

  • "Took our twin daughters here for their 16th birthday. We had a 5:00 seating which is typically too early for us but fit our schedule for the night. The dining area was very nicely appointed, waitress was pleasant although she should have pointed out to us the wine specials for the evening. We received our apps in a timely fashion but then the wait for the main course was long. Food good--good selection of entrees from veal, to chicken, to pasta, to beef, to fish. I ordered the salmon which was tasty but a bit underdone--didn't have time to send it back to the kitchen since we were on a schedule. Again the time from the main course to dessert was long--the whole experience was 2 hours long..."

  • "We have dined here often and it just keeps getting better. The food is on par with NY and Philly places. The service is very good. Our server Carl is the best. He has good wine knowledge and has been at The Mansion for years. Dining here is a real pleasure. We can't wait to return."

  • "We have been to Bella Tori several times in the past so took friends there for dinner. Our waiter Chris was wonderful and very friendly but there was a back up in the kitchen and we waited far too long for our entrees. Three of us ordered the pork chops and we asked for no pepper and no more than medium done. The chops were way over cooked and very dry and the potatoes and vegetables were saturated in pepper. Very disappointed in the meal. Dessert and coffee were good."

  • "We took my parents there for Sunday Brunch. It was terrific. The service and the food were phenomenal! We have been to other brunch's in very nice restaurants but this was by far the best one we have been to. Love the look of it too. It has so much character."

  • "Our night at Bella Tora was very nice. The moment we pulled up to the mansion the mood was set. The ambience was just awesome and everything a place like Bella Tora should have. The classical guitar was especially soothing and romantic. The food was delicious and service was exceptional. I would recommend to anyone who is looking to have good food, good service added with a relaxed and romantic setting to try Bella Tora."

  • "Old mansion; wonderful décor. Guitarist played quietly and added to the ambiance. Crab cakes and onion soup were wonderful. Osso bucco left something to be desired - was not tender and tasted like beef instead of veal."

  • "Our anniversary dinner was delicious. Loved the live guitar music, he played a little bit of everything! My appetizer (huge scallop with creamy risotto rice ball) was sooo good! Very romantic setting, had a reservation so no wait at all. Wines by the glass are VERY reasonably priced, and a great selection! Our waitress was very helpful with dinner selection recommendations, and checked back with us several times to see if we needed anything. Water bottle on the table was constantly refilled. Never felt rushed. My husband had the lamb chops, cooked just the way he likes them (alive!). I had the almond crusted salmon, and had to have that yummy risotto on the side. We will be back!"

  • "A beautifully kept mansion is a fine restaurant in a quiet neighborhood an off the beaten track. The wine list is extensive and the cuisine is crafted and served the way food should be, hot, fresh and artfully designed. What's more, it's delicious. We first went to a family function in the banquet room and I was impressed the way the food was prepared and served. It wasn't "banquet style," it was if we were dining in the restaurant. Since then we have dined here several times and enjoy the addition of a classical guitarist on the weekends... The menu has something for everyone's palate. Wine tasting dinners, mystery nights and other events throughout the year, Step away from a 3 star dining experience and try Bella Tori..."

  • "The interior is impressive and would be great for a special occasion. We went to the brunch of Sunday, however, and the food selection was average. Everything was typical breakfast food - omlets, sausage, bacon, french toast. bagels... There were cheese blinzes and a take-off on eggs benedict to make it a little out of the ordinary. Since brunch is breakfast AND lunch, at a special place like Belle Tori, I was expecting more selections for the lunch portion. The only non-brunch offering was chicken marsala and vegetable medley. There were salads and desserts but they were also fairly typical of a standard brunch. Would have loved something special at such a special place."

  • "We ordered appetizer, salad and two main entrees. Salad came first then appetizer which was short ribs that had no taste to it. We waited for over 45 minutes after we finished our appetizer before the main course was served. Server did come by once to say the entree will be out soon. I ordered lamb chops which were very good but mashed potatoes were peppery. My wife ordered a chicken dish which was very peppery and she could not eat it. They did offer to replace entree but waiting another 45 min was out of question. Manager did come over and apologized. Entree was removed from bill. Place has lots of ambience and could be a special place to dine"

  • "Our food was very fresh and good. We also received a nice portion of our selected entrees. I was a bit disappointed by our waitress as she took our orders and never returned until she brought the check. We had to ask another waiter to bring us butter for our warm rolls. I would recommend this restaurant and will definitely go back."

  • "My sister and I took our really good friend there for her 65th birthday celebration. The food was excellent the music was terrific by the lone guitar player and we only have one issue with the room and that it might have been a little too ,warm from the awesome fireplace. It was our first time there and we will definitely go back again. Thank you."

  • "The room was intimate but not jammed with tables. Service was very good and wait times were acceptable. The food was very good with excellent sauces. We happened to be seated next to the guitar player who was there on this Friday night. I thought it would be annoying but found it to be enjoyable, not loud and a good distraction from the moderate ambient noise level. The prices were reasonable and our waiter did everything to make our dining experience quite enjoyable."

  • "The overall review ended up with a two star strictly due to service. The food itself was very good and the atmosphere was lovely. The service was painfully slow. Also my husband's dinner came out incorrect, he had the pescatore but asked for no scallops and to make the Fra Diavalo sauce extra spicy, neither was done. Apparently the chef expected him to put extra red pepper flakes on top via a shaker just like at a pizza shop. When we asked about the scallops that were supposed to be extra shrimp the waitress said she would have them made up and bring them out. They appeared once we had completely finished the entrees. Maybe it was a rough night, not sure, but its a shame because everything else was great."

  • "The atmosphere of Bella Tori is very nice. A romantic place to have a quiet dinner. Everyone I came in contact with was nice and polite. However, I would not go back there again. The food was very expensive, which I knew going into it, but I expected it to be much better considering the cost and the type of restaurant it was. I got a chicken dish and the person I was with got the pork. Both were very over cooked, especially the pork which was dry and difficult to pull of the fork. The desserts tasted like something we could have bought boxed from the grocery store. There was nothing about the meal that wowed us. It was very disappointing considering the price that we paid for the meal. Very expensive."

  • "I took my husband and Mom here last week for their birthday brunch. There is a lovely salad bar with antipasta, Caesar salad, smoked salmon, grilled vegetables and a soup of the day. There are many delicious brunch options. Do try the wonderful French toast as well as Eggs Bella (I believe) which is an Eggs Benedict twist on delicious well cooked shredded home fries. There is also fresh peel and eat shrimp as well as mussels and a fresh fish choice. There is a fresh made pasta choice and of course a made to order omelet station. The dessert bar is very nice as well. All around a great place for a shower, dinner and Sunday brunch. Enjoy."

  • "The food was delicious and the selection was very good for a brunch menu. The servers were attentive, with 3 or 4 servers rotating from table to table the entire time. Brunch starts at 11:00. We arrived at about 10:50 for our 11:00 reservation, were seated immediately, and were able to order coffee even though the buffet was not open. Just after announcing that the buffet was open, one of the servers ran into the room and announced that there was a small fire in one of the dryers in the basement and that everyone should exit the building immediately. I only add this because the staff calmly helped everyone exit the building safely and efficiently. We were able to resume brunch about 30 minutes later, and all was great despite the hiccup."

  • "Although this was valentines day, it would appear that the restaurant was unprepared to provide efficient service. It literally took two hours for our meal to arrive. It seemed as if all the guests in our area had to wait a very long time for their food to arrive. There was several apologies for the delayed service and we were told to return at another time when it was not so hectic. although the food was excellent, our romantic meal was much to be desired. There was several lights that were burnt out and floors looked as if they could be refinished. We had plenty of time to look around to find these minor details. It would have been nice to have at least a single rose on each table or given to the ladies on this special night."

  • "We went to Bella Tori for Valentine's Day and the experience was dreadful! The waiters were inexperienced and not very friendly when we were finally waited on. We waited at least 15 minutes to place our orders and then another 15 minutes to receive our drinks. When our appetizers came (9:35) the waiter dumped my husband's clams all over his lap, my new purse, and the floor. The mess was never cleaned up from the floor or the table except what we cleaned up ourselves and my purse and husband's shirt are permanently stained not that anyone at the restaurant cared. Dinner wasn't served until 10:20 and was not good. Frankly to wait almost 2 hours for 2 courses is unacceptable! We got dessert to go just like everyone else."

  • "I made my reservation two weeks before Valentine's Day. My date and I had been to Bella Tori prior to Valentine's Day. A few hours before we went to the restaurant I looked at the website's menu. Seeing the regular dinner menu and a Valentine's Day menu I called the restaurant and asked if the Valentine's Day menu was in addition to the regular dinner menu, and I was told it was not. So instead of offer more choices, the restaurant offered less. Our reservation was for 8:30 and we were seated promptly. The salad I ordered was hideous. The bread however was great. It's a good thing it was, because our entrees were not served until nearly 11 p.m. It took over two hours for our food to be served. I was not happy and I won't go back."

  • "I've been there multiple times. It's normally very good and still has a great atmosphere. All I'll say is I tried the Mediterranean Pork with couscous and spinach and they drowned it with way too much oil. I've rated this place before so don't put too much stock in my food rating this time; it's the only time I wasn't so crazy about the food."

  • "With little brunch selection in Bucks county, we ventured to Langhorne for Brunch. It was an open buffet. The meal was a typical buffet style with everything to an omelette station to French toast and pasta, but it did not have a toast/bread area...only bagels. Additionally, I was disappointed that the price did not include a bloody mary, mimosa or even juice in the $25/person price. The food was good, but the wait staff really needs to be better at checking on coffee/water refills as well as simply "checking" on the tables. We weren't in any huge hurry, but sat with dirty plates in front of us waiting for the check for over 30 minutes."

  • "Bella Tori at the Mansion has been filling a large void for that area. They are continuing to work hard to offer the community a local fine dining experience which is so lacking there. KUDO's to them! Keep up the good work.."

  • "We go to a special brunch for birthdays and anniversaries but always end up traveling more than 50 miles to find a nice place. Bella is right in our back yard and compares to all of the other brunches we have been too. Who knew?! Would have liked scrambled eggs as a choice but the omelet station was quick and easy. We will be returning!! Thanks!"

  • "We went there to celebrate, several special occasions all at once, in one evening, so the ambiance was very important. a beautiful, blazing fire in the fire place and the romantic guitar sounds of Mr. Schultz, the excellent service by Lauren and the quality of food and spirits was superb. We'll be back and we will recommend this restaurant to family and friends. Thank-you !"

  • "We had been to Bella Tori a number of years ago and were not impressed. However, after hearing several people say how good it was, we decided to give it a try. What a pleasant surprise! The rooms are gorgeous. The music very relaxing. The service was very good and not intrusive. And the food was very good. The selection was varied without being crazy . Our food was prepared and presented beautifully. The wine list is varied and we had a wonderful bottle of a blend from Spain. We would definitely return."

  • "The food was excellent . Our waitress seemed to be inexperienced. She was very slow and did not follow through to make sure you were taken care of. Another waiter noticed we did not have any bread and brought us some. Several other tables around us were not happy with her service, they waited a considerable length of time to be acknowledged. We do plan to make a return visit ,we did notice the waitors at the other tables seemed to be more experienced."

  • "Salads were great, rolls were excellent (often an indicator of overall food quality). Gnocci was wonderful...not overcooked as is quite common. Italian gravy was OK, but nothing special. Veal parm was just OK...nice tender piece of veal, but the breaded coating was too thick and a bit greasey. Same Italian gravy as on the gnocci. Desserts were quite good. Service was attentive. Old mansion atmosphere in nice and in good condition."
