We ran across this place two years ago while in visiting my son at college. He loves Italian so we wanted a nice little restaurant we could entertain he and a friend. Price is right and it provides a homey comfort. It was his pick for his college graduation dinner this last weekend. Food is still great, prices are reasonable and ambiance is perfect for a family get together.

Overall, the service was poor and the food was even worse. It's hard to mess up Italian, but some how they managed. Don't order the Gnocchi!! It wasn't even noodles just a slop of flour mixed with water covered in vodka sauce. When asked why it wasn't in typical gnocchi form the waitress replied "yea, I don't know" and they comped the meal. In fact save yourself and don't go at all!!

We were attending a theater play nearby so the place was very convenient. The atmosphere was quiet maybe because we scheduled our dinner at 6.The food was good and it came on time. The entrees were the usual italian fare. The service was attentive. The wine list is reasonably priced.

As soon as we were seated the waiter wanted to know our order. When we asked for a minute to look at the menu he disappeared for over 30 minutes. I ordered the clam entree specifically asking if it was a pasta dish (since I can't eat pasta). I was told it was just clams. But when served it was linguini with a clam sauce. It took another 15 minutes to get the waiter's attention and when I showed him the error I was told that the menu said it was a pasta dish (which it didn't). I asked the waiter to bring me another dish (without pasta) and he refused to do so without charging me for the replacement. This is mediocre Italian at best.

  • So happy we found this place!!

I recently stumbled on this place while visiting NYC. I arrived into Penn Station and my friend and I set out on foot. We wanted Italian so I used Open Table to find a nearby place. We were hungry, it was nighttime and I am not familiar with NY- so it took us quite some time to find this place. Of course we passed several other restaurants and almost just dined some place else. So glad we did not!! The place will fool you when you walk in bc it really looks like another pizza joint, however, in the back is a small dining room. The bread with olive oil dipping sauce was delicious and I had chicken scaloppini with penne pasta served w marinara. It was one of the BEST Italian meals I ever had. My friend loved the chicken parm.

They took forever to attend us, did not accomodate us, misplaced the orders and brought us the wrong dishes and said as an answer "well you dont mind, right??". They forgot to bring us the drinks and took forever to bring the bill. If i wanted a dinner I would have just gone to a cheap dinner. Please dont go, it is not worth it, there are better places in the area!!!!

We are italian, so we decide to go to eat in a Italian Restaurant. The food remember the italian food but it's far from our real food. The service is good and the ambiance is really nice. But the problem had been the price. It's too much expensive... From the pastas to the extra taxes and others we paid a lot of money...

Found the restaurant online so I wasn't a hundred percent sure it'd be amazing. Dined with a large group of friends and we had a great time. All of our requests were met (we asked to be moved downstairs since we knew we would get loud). It was a great time, great food, great service. Real quality food for a great price, especially in Manhattan. It was nice to see a family run business show care for the diners, providing an exceptional experience; something we don't see often in the city.

We were staying at the Carlton hotel and looking for a quick casual restaurant on a Friday night before heading to the Knick game. Read numerous favorable reviews about the food and this restaurant did not disappoint. Once you get over the initial Pizza parlor look you will be very pleased to enjoy some excellent food in a casual setting at very reasonable prices. The salads were huge and tasty and the zuppa di pesce was reasonably priced and delicious. The chicken scarpariello was also excellent. Great service and they were able to get us in an out in plenty of time for the game. Salad, entree, wine, desert and coffee for two for about $70 before tip in Manhattan. We will be back.

Upon entering this restaurant, we contemplated going elsewhere as this didn't have the ambiance we were hoping for. Nevertheless, we stayed and gave it a shot. What a good choice that was! The good was fabulous! Ingredients so fresh and authentic, truly a wonderful dining experience. What this restaurant lacks in ambiance, it more than makes up for in its quality of food!

Cozy, informal neighborhood restaurant that seemed to attract quite a few regulars. While the front of the restaurant appears to be pizza take out, there are several tables in the back and a full menu of "classic" Italian fare. The atmosohere is casual and a bit quirky, but the food and friendliness of the small staff made it well-worth the visit. Would definitely go again.

I was a little leery upon arrival because it looked like a pizza place. However, after settling in I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. I had the spaghetti with meatballs. The meatballs were large, light and ever so tasty. Although the place got crowded, the waitress remained attentive and pleasant. Everyone else in our party of three commented that they enjoyed their meals as well. A nice surprise!

This place has great lunch. You gotta check it out. The prices are really cheap too. I got a plate of chicken Parm and baked Ziti for $8! And their chicken salads are only $6. Everyday they have a new special for lunch. Tuesdays they have a veal special. Wednesdays they have a shrimp special. Fridays they have a fish special. Like I said, it's only $8 from 11-4pm. They're always packed with locals. The great thing is that they have extra seating downstairs with two tvs and music.
