Bella CenaIt was good to be able toIt was good to be able to return to Bella Cena, the first for us since it reopened. It is one of the restaurants at which we like to dine when we drive in from Berks County. We were welcomed with open arms and genuine enthusiasm. As always the food was superb. The calamari, which is a must order for us, was heavenly and my egg plant parm. was so thinly sliced it melted in the mouth.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMDependable Center City ItalianGreat service, delicious food, reasonable prices at this center of everything location. It is byob or choose from many choices from the restaurant .5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food and Easy to get inWe had to make a last minute reservation for 10 people on a busy graduation weekend. We got into Bella Cena and had a blast. The food was great, everyone enjoyed their meals and cleaned their plates. Its BYO which helped keep the bill down. With 10 people we were in and out of their in 90 minutes. The service was a little slow but nothing to complain about. I would go back for sure. The Lasagna was fantastic.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMSpectacular yet UnknownWe have been coming to this restaurant for years and have had spectacular meals time and again. Probably some of the best pasta in town with splendid and not too heavy sauces, always remind me of the meals I used to have at home in Italy. Entrees are great as well and they have always a great selection of specials for the day. The ambiance itself could use some updating, but if you are looking for great food at a reasonable price don't miss Bella Cena. The restaurant is popular with the pre-show crowd, but after 7pm-7:30pm a place is fairly easy to get. Enjoy!5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMbella cenaVery reasonably price. Absolutely yummy food. Great service. You can byob or they have a liquor license. Best of both worlds! The Giana lemon chicken and the penne vodka were both to die for. Glad they are back!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMSpruce Street Gem!So glad that Bella Cena is back from the ashes. And, boy, are they better than ever. Smoked mozzerella is heavenly. The Linguini Fruitti con mare (sp?) is huge. Beware of the huge chunks of anchovies in the ceaser salad (unless you're into that). Brought our own bottle of wine & everything was perfect. Service was as quick & pollite as ever. Parking is a bit of an issue.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMLike spending an evening in ItalyThis was always a favorite of mine, but it disappeared for a long time due to a fire next door. But now it's back, and it's just as wonderful as ever. The menu features a wide variety of imaginative dishes, both pasta and meat, and the decor will make you feel like you're really in Italy. This is a wonderful place for a relaxing meal.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMBella Cena In Recovery ModeWe have loved Bella Cena for the past several years and were very upset when we found it closed in the fall. The menu has changed a bit, and some of our favorites have been eliminated :-(( much to our dismay. Service was not as good as previously, and the previously full house was greatly reduced. Hope things improve and go back to prior times!!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMRising from the ashes (literally)We were a bit hesitant to try Bella Cena again after it had been closed for so long after the building fire. Hardly any diners but it was the best dinner we'd ever had there. We will go again.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat family owned ItalianGreat family owned Italian restaurant! Service was slow, but food was good!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant! Went beforeGreat restaurant! Went before a show. Even though they have a bar - they let us bring our own wine. Will return!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMKudos to Bella Cena!My friends and I were dining at Bella Cena prior to attending a performance at the Meriam Theatre. We were looking for an affordable and authentic Italian restaurant near the theatre and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and attentive. We had a fabulous time and will definitely return!2/28/2013 12:00:00 AM
