Belfry Inne and BistroExcellent as usualThis place is just a gem. It is almost always consistently excellent and this, my most recent visit, did not disappoint. I had the swordfish special of the day with corn and edamame succotash, snap peas and tricolored fingerling potatoes all with a lighter than air thyme beurre sauce. Absolutely outstanding. My dining companion had the hanger steak and frites which also was divine. You just can't go wrong here. It's not an everyday kind of place as it can be a little pricey for a non-major metropolitan location but for a special occasion it's a real treat.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful revovated church.Beautiful revovated church. Nice menu with variety, filet mignon was excellent. Limited drink list but a few tasty concotions.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMFine dining treatLocated in an old church we were intrigued with the restaurant from the outside. Once inside we couldn't have been more pleased, The menu is limited but more than adequate. Presentation of my entre of lemon-zested mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts and scallops was so beautiful I took a photo. The tastes as wonderful of the looks. The ambience was quiet but the season on Cape Cod is not in full swing in early June. There was a piano in the main dining room -- used on weekends? There was two special party rooms. A great dining experience for those willing to pay $125 - 135 for two.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMYummmmm!Once again we were not disappointed! The food was superb and plated beautifully. There was a wine tasting going on at the time of our visit. The staff were very busy and yet they found the time to cater to our needs.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMwill go backSecond time at the Belfry. Being a regular in providence, ri's amazing foodie restaurant scene, (ranked #1 in 2013 by Travel and Leisure)...standards are high.
The Belfry offers imaginative food; prepared with care. the conversion of a church into hotel/restaurant is well done and provides a fun, elegant environment. Prices are high, but fair. A special occasion restaurant.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were celebrating birthday,We were celebrating birthday, very impressed! We will be back.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful placeThe atmosphere, food and service are always top notch. Courtney was really terrific. Highly recommend.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMCould not have been happier!I had asked for a special table as I was entertaining out of town guests and they could not have been more accommodating. They gave me a private little room, I believe it was the old "Bell Tower" which was very intimate and quite lovely. It was filled with beautiful glass candles that were all lit when we arrived. The service was excellent and I thought the food was wonderful. I had the iceberg lettuce wedge with blue cheese dressing which was delicious and plentiful. I ordered the scallops for my entree and have been thinking about them ever since, they were done perfectly and served with the most light and fluffy mashed potatoes. All and all , it was a delightful evening and I am definitely going back for the scallops again.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial treat for restaurant weekMy husband and I have tried on two previous occasions to have dinner at the Belfry Inn, and both times we needed to cancel our reservations. This time we finally made it there and we were so pleased with the service, the food and the ambience. My husband had the Mussels as his appetizer, and the salmon entree...served with baby bok choy and pea flan,; I had the grilled hanger steak, wild rice and broccoli, after starting with a deliscous bowl of clam chowder. We are looking forward to a repeat visit.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMAn amazing experienceMother's day options can be limited & mundane. NOT the case at the Belfry Inne & Bistro. The wonderfully restored old church setting set a peacful, relaxing tone. The menu was varied & enticing. Making a choice was hard, to say the least. The options made it possible for us to let our more elderly mothers have lots of choices that met their dietary restrictions & desires. Service was great. The Server was a lovely young woman who toild us the history of the Bistro & was so friendly and accommodating. Desert, oh my, was it good. We ordered 4 deserts & shared them. The Mousse Trio was heavenly, the Cherry desert was delectable and the Brulee was so smooth & tasty without being too sweet. Overall, an amazing Mother's Day meal.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMCharacterThis former Catholic church still has the warm church feel but a vibrant personality5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was very good, however,The food was very good, however, the maitre d' sat me and my elderly mother at a table in the bar area, when there were obviously tables for 2 available in the main room, since other people, who came after us, were seated there. So my mother had to climb up and down steps and it was too noisey in the bar area. It wasn't very convenient nor accomodating.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother great night at the BelfryPam and I were so happy to be back at our favorite Sandwich haunt. Fantastic .... As always.. DrT5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMA gem on the Upper Cape.Although we are nearby residents, we had missed this gem. The Scallop plate was superb and the Swordfish above average. The calamari appetizer was prepared perfectly and with a very attractive presentation as were the entres. The ambiance is lovely with the chapel motif maintained, and live dinner music by a piano player. Last but not least, my martini (Gibson) was generous and perfectly chilled.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful, unique restaurant.Wonderful, unique restaurant. The food is superb! Nice, friendly waitstaff.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and service wereThe food and service were very good. Portion was a good size, filled me up and no room for dessert. We dined indoors, as it is still cold outside. The dinning area is great...stone walls, high ceilings, stained glass. If you're in the area and looking for a nice dinner out I'd definitely check out the Bistro.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Belfry never dissapoints. The Belfry never dissapoints. Always new and creative cuisine. Great cocktails, imaginative entrees and fair prices. 1 App, 2 Cocktails, 2 Entrees and 1 Dessert = $124 (includes just over a 20% tip). So it's not really more expensive than any other up-scale restaurant in the area (which IMHO is hurting for up-scale creative cuisine).4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe always enjoy the Belfry; We always enjoy the Belfry; the food is always delicious and well-prepared and well-presented. We had a very personable waitperson, Lynn, who made the meal extra enjoyable.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMI came here after gettingI came here after getting married for a nice weekend getaway from the noisy city. It was perfect, so relaxing and beautiful. The customer service was excellent, they made sure that we were taken care of in every way possible. The food was also amazing with the nice piano music in the background. That Sat we rented bikes and did 20miles on the canal bike trail and around the town in general. It was a tad bit chilly because of the time of year but that made it all the special because it was so intimate and private. It surpassed my expectation and I plan to come here for my yearly anniversary getaway.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and the staff wereThe food and the staff were fabulous. In our group of 5 everyone loved their appetizer, entree and dessert.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMone of the better Cape Codone of the better Cape Cod restaurants we've tried (we haven't had any luck finding really good food on the Cape...). bland bread, bland lentil soup and over-sauced fish entrees countered by very fresh ingredients, PERFECT green beans and wonderful desserts. in Boston, this would be a decent choice, but on the Cape, it's way above average.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
