  • "Food and service were outstanding. I would definitely dine here again if in the Savanah area. Seafood was fresh and wonderfully prepared. I had Flounder coated with pecans and it was the best ever. Tasted as though it came from ocean to table--that fresh. Everyone in the group of 4 was very happy with their dishes."

  • "Our waiter was exceptional. I was worried that my pork chop would be too thick and he actually brought it out to show it to me....The food was wonderful. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone."

  • "Great location, awesome food menu, and great service."

  • "Very poor service. Needs more staff to assist the waiter. Waiter had too many tables and had to take our order, serve our meal,, bus the table and handle the bill. While this may sound petty it really impacted the overall experience. Once the waiter cleared our dinner plates he stacked them on top of each other while explaining the desserts-unappetizing. Also my husband's plate was not removed until his dessert was served. We politely asked the hostess to remove his plate she made a snarkey comment that she would speak to our waiter. She went back to the hostess stand where she was in full sight. Another waiter spent time setting tables when there was no one waiting to fill these tables. I would not recommend Belford's."

  • "We made reservations for a Friday night dinner. Recommend reservations for everyone since they were turning away walk-ups. We were seated right away at a small table against the wall. Great place for watching the activity in the place. The wait was acceptable between courses considering the crowd. The cocktails were great. The soup was good but did not have a lot of crab or shrimp in it. The lobster ravioli were not as good as expected. They seemed to be overcooked, but the shrimp and scallops were great. The crab cakes were wonderful. Full of crab and little breading. I would definitely recommend the crab cakes. The noise level was a little high for intimate conversation but was good. We would definitely recommend this restaurant."

  • "We were in Savannah for one night to take some clients out for dinner and chose Belford's due to our prior experience and the menu selection. My husband and I stopped by the bar while waiting for the rest of our party and had great service and the Honey Bee drink was absolutely amazing!!! We were seated promptly when our guests arrived and enjoyed attentive service and amazing food!!! We will certainly be back again on our future visits to Savannah."

  • "A great find based upon an internet search. On the last day of a music festival we did not know about when booking, the restaurant was in a busy section of the market area (lots of activity). The service was great, food and wine choices very good. Definitely worth a visit."

  • "We stumbled across this restaurant because we were looking for something casual but good and not just a burger joint. Booked on Open table, with recommendation from TripAdvisor. No disappointments will definitely go back when in town. The outdoor patio was lovely. We went just at sunset. Although we could not see the sun or the water the overall ambience was wonderful. i would suggest going before the heat and humidity sets in."

  • "The food was outstanding, the service was great. We had the brie to share at the table with the spiced pecans. And I had the ahi tuna appetizer for my meal. Friends had the crab cakes and said that they were out of this world. Really great place to eat in savannah."

  • "We went to Savannah to celebrate my daughter's birthday. I didn't mention the occasion while at the restaurant but I had made a note when booking the reservation through Open Table. I was pretty impressed that a birthday cake was brought to my daughter after the meal just from the note. The food and service were excellent and they obviously paid attention to the reservation information. A very pleasant experience all around. Thanks."

  • "Ate at Belford's with my wife and two friends before a performance at Ships of the Sea Museum during the Savannah Music Festival. The wait staff worked very hard to see that our dinner was completed in time to walk to the concert. All of us ordered only appetizers and salads but everyone felt the choices were very good. Lovely building reminiscent of an upscale restaurant in New Orleans. We'll go back for sure."

  • "We were visiting Savannah, and found Belford's positively reviewed on several blogs. The reviews were right. While located in the heart of the touristy city market area with tourist prices to match, the restaurant was worth it. Great food and phenomenal service. We ate outside one night while the weather was warm, and enjoyed our meal so much, we returned our last night of our trip when and ate inside. Both times, the service was great. A member of our party has life-threatening food allergies, and Belford's handled cooking for him with ease. Every dish we tried from appetizers to shrimp and grits to steak were great. Good wine and beer options as well."

  • "Lunch at Belfords was our last meal in Savannah before flying home, and we were not disappointed. Lump crab cake entree came with two generous crab cakes that were all crab-not much detectable breading. "Shrimp greens and grits" was very good, although my husband would have been happy with 2 more shrimp. Louis D was our delightful, cheerful, attentive waiter. Cobbler at the next table looked delicious but we were too stuffed to try it. Next time!"

  • "We really enjoyed our dinner at Belford's - the food was exceptional. Our waitress left a bit to be desired, and the specialty drinks were very sweet, but the entrees were outstanding - very eclectic and unique from what we'd had at other Savannah restaurants."

  • "While in town for 4 days we've hit several of the top rated restaurants and enjoyed them all immensely. Belford's was one we were unsure of chose last second. To our surprise it was our favorite meal of the trip. She-crab soup was excellent! Shrimp, greens and grits were best I've ever had and crab cakes are now at the top of my picky wife's list. Get the blueberry cobbler, but don't split it because it's not a lot, but do get a dish of homemade ice cream to go with it. We'd give it a 6th star if we could and that goes for service as well."

  • "My wife and I were visiting Hilton Head Island and we spent a day in Savannah. We booked Belford's for dinner and could not have had a better experience. I had the ravioli with creole cream sauce and my wife had the shrimp and grits. Both were superb."

  • "Our dinner group of seven all enjoyed very good meals at Belford's and the service from Louis D was simply exceptional. The menu had a diverse range of items and the wine list offered many selections at reasonable price points."

  • "I had family visiting from New York and wanted to take them to a very "Savannah" restaurant for dinner. Belford's immediately came to mind and did not disappoint! We were seated promptly and enjoyed our meal very much. The service was very good and attentive. My family had a great time and really got a great Savannah experience. If I had one quip, it would be that due to the open kitchen, you leave smelling like food which is a personal pet peeve of mine. Overall, I would still recommend it again and it would probably be perfect if you could sit outdoors! {no lingering smell there}"

  • "sat outside in City Market (our choice), so was a bit noisy due to band; crab cakes excellent; rosemary chicken hard to find the rosemary flavor plus too much rich gnocci; bread excellent, service excellent"

  • "Foodies, if you love seafood, don't let the fact that this restaurant is in City Market scare you away. Great, and I mean GREAT, crab cakes. I had them put the sauce on the side because they were perfect off the griddle. Fish dishes were excellent too. Acceptable wine list. The 2011 chablis we had was a treat treat. Great fun. Note: the lunch menu is cheaper than the evening or Sunday menus."

  • "Belford's was the best dining experience we've had in Savannah. Easily a Top 10 overall. Service was excellent. Brie with berry and pecan appetizer was perfect. Great wine list. Excellent crabcakes. Husband thought the filet was one of the best he'd ever had. None of the dessert choices appealed. Nothing wrong with them; just nothing to get excited about."

  • "We were dining at Belford's from out of town. We had the crab cakes which were absolutely awesome--great fresh crab with very little filler. The vegetables that came with the crab cakes were very yummy, but the rice was so undercooked that it was crunchy. It was also cold. If it hadn't been for the undercooked rice, the meal would have been fabulous."

  • "This was our first visit to Belford's. It was a nice visit but not to the extent that I would rush back. I ordered the Shrimp/Greens/Grits which was incredible. My wife ordered the Salmon which was charred/burnt on one side. We had a party of 4. The hostess placed us at a small table that barely had room for the small bread plates and drinks. The service from the waitress was excellent. We didn't wait long for the food and it was hot when served."

  • "Our waitress, Bianca, was delightful. She was very helpful in explaining the menu, but it was her positive and friendly personality that places her at the top of her profession. Belford's has been one of our favorite restaurants since moving to Bluffton almost eight years ago. Belford's delivers in all key areas and the value is terrific because the food is always great."

  • "While there are lots of trendy and good restaurants in Savannah, we've always been more than pleased with Belford's food, service and the ability to sit outdoors and dine in a great setting. It's short walk from much of the Northern historic district and our dining experiences there have always been first-rate."

  • "We made a last minute Valentine's dinner reservation thanks to Open Table--lucky for us, seems there was a cancellation which showed up online. We were in town from Canada on business/getaway and was late for the reservation but was accommodated very graciously. Our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive. We ordered both the lobster bisque and the She crab soup since there was an unusual cold spell in Savannah--delicious but the She crab soup was our favourite. Ordered the Creole lobster ravioli which was good but the crab cakes were out of this world. The chef even came by to ask how things were--very nice of him! It was just too bad that the 1st part of our dinner was marred by a boisterous wedding party group-but it was Valentine's"

  • "A good overall restaurant. Food was well prepared and presented. Waitstaff very friendly and helpful (read below). The only hitch was that the hostess seated us at a table that was not to our liking. When we asked to change to a table along the wall we were told they were reserved. The seat we were assigned was above the stairway to the rest rooms the the accompanying odors. Our waiter gladly moved us to the "reserved" table we had originally wanted and interestingly no additional guests arrived by the time we left at about 11PM."

  • "We visit Savannah at least once a year and always head to Belford's! The first time we did so with reluctance based on the comments of the staff at our hotel, but because it was close and open we went. What a delightful meal! The staff was helpful and attentive which was not just because the restaurant crowd had left. We've eaten there since during a dinner rush and had the same level of service. My wife delighted in her meal saying it was the best rendition of shrimp and grits she every had and she's the family foodie. Now that's all she eats there, saving her experimentation to the appetizer list. We will go again and will look forward to it!"
