  • "Tasty meal and pleasant setting. Finer dining than many of the restaurants on River Street."

  • "Pre-wedding lunch for two. perfect start to a beautiful day. Staff was excellent, very professional and considerate. Food was amazing. The shrimp and Grit cakes were exploding with flavor!!!"

  • "dined with my teenage daughters, wait staff was very accommodating, appetizers and entrees were excellent, nice selection of great wines by the glass...look forward to going back!"

  • "The service was super slow and there were only 3 other tables in the entire restaurant. The food was okay but extremely overpriced. Won't be back"

  • "Too expensive for small amount of food. She-crab soup was too thick and lacked flavor"

  • "Brunch had dirty butter dishes on our table ... Them tried to find clean one on table next to me and they were all dirty ... Food stuck on them and so smear of grease ... Receptionist saw I me looking for a clean one. She said she would handle it. .... No Apology from any one ... No reassurance not how they wanted my experience to be.. Food good , reasonably priced, atmosphere unique and pleasant . You can sit inside or out."

  • "We always bring out of town company to Belford's, for lunch, as one of our ways of showing off Savannah. They have never disappointed us and we look forward to many lunches, in the future."

  • "We made reservations for Fathers Day brunch and though they recently removed my favorites for brunch (pancakes and French toast) from the menu, the food was excellent, the crab cakes were TO DIE FOR and the ambience was pleasant. In the bustling City Market area of historic Savannah, Belfords was the perfect spot for a great meal and after-dinner stroll. We even came back for dinner the same evening for a second round. Our servers, Louis and Cody, were memorable and my wife LOVED the elderflower martini the bartender Jesse made so much that she went to meet him personally. We are world class foodies and have had that martini in 4 other countries and countless places in the US. That one was in out top 3! Thanks so much, we'll be back!"

  • "It was the perfect spot to enjoy a wonderful Father's Day lunch! Service and food were first class. We were also there recently for dinner with a group of 15 or so in the evening and experienced the same wonderful service. Enjoyed both dining experiences!"

  • "I live in savannah and have enjoyed a lot of great food in this town. Me and my wife both ordered steaks and both where not what I expected from a restaurant in this price range. Our bill was $130.00 which included a bottle of wine. I would have went to the outback if I could have done it over again."

  • "This restaurant is in a large open room that can get very noisy without much decor..the image on the website looks like a very initimate, quiet setting. We ordered the baked brie for an appetizer. It came out hard, cold and rubbery twice until we told the server to bring us something else. We then ordered the fried green tomatoes which were beyond raw. The wine was good and the server very nice but at the end of the meal I realized I would never come here again and basically it was the mentality of the management was to get tourists in and out and not bother with the quality of the food."

  • "It is one of my favorite places to dine and yes, the crab cakes are delicious."

  • "Brought visiting company here and everyone really enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere. The wait staff was very attentive and everyone was very satisfied with the experience."

  • "I ordered the lobster mac and cheese hoping for a gooey, cheesy delicious meal. The salad was lack luster. For the price of the meal, I wish this would have come separately and in it's own bowl. The lobster mac was runny, and watery. The lobster itself didn't have a whole lot of flavor, which is what I was hoping for. Overall, for a $28 meal, I was hoping for more. On the upside, the ambiance was inviting, rustic and lively. The restaurant was right on River St. which was great. They had a great guitar player until about 10pm, which I love. "

  • "I have dined at Belford's several times over the past four years with family and friends and have never been disappointed. Good atmosphere, good food, good service and fair prices."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Belford's Savannah, we chose to dine there on the last night of our honeymoon. The food was excellent and our waiter Louis D was charming, helpful and he took excellent care of us. The crab cakes are to die for and my husband practically chewed the bone when he was finished with his steak. We will definitely go back when we visit Savannah again."

  • "Very nice outside seating, friendly staff, service attentive without being 'in your face', menu with many choices and food is very good. Prices reasonable. Will go back."

  • "Belford's Savannah - good food, just right portions, and great service."

  • "What a fabulous dinner we had!! The Pork Chops and Salmon were to die for as well as all the sides. Everything was done to perfection. In addition, the bread was delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone who travels to Savannah. It is a MUST EAT restaurant. The service was great, too."

  • "We drive up from Orlando at least monthly, during the school year, and Belford's is always on our to-do list! The salmon is wonderful, with a slightly sweet glaze, the pasta with mushrooms is awesome, and the chicken with peanut sauce is always ordered by at least one person at our table. We have never been disappointed with any of our meals, and our service has always been excellent as well. Love the history of the old building. An all around, very pleasant evening. "

  • "We started with the crab cake, which seemed like 99.9 percent crab! It was yummy!I had the salmon and my partner had the shrimp and grits. Although the shrimp and grits were a bit dry, he still enjoyed them. My salmon was perfectly cooked. Alas, I asked for lemon for my fish that never arrived. For $140 meal, we would expect the service to be a bit better. Our wine glasses were empty (we bought by the glass this time) for a good long time. We ended up eating half our main course with no wine. Boo Hoo.. I think they understaffed that night, maybe because it was the Memorial Day weekend and the waitstaff was at the beach. "

  • "Located in Savannah's vibrant City Market area, this restaurant is a gem. I'm shocked that on a holiday weekend this place had open reservations. Everything was fabulous, from the drinks to dessert and the wait staff. I highly recommend Belford's!"

  • "We had a lovely dining experience. The setting was perfect and our waiter, Louise, was terrific. We will be returning. "

  • "Eating at belfords was a very nice experience. My only complaint was that it was a little chilly on the patio with the fans running on high and that seemed to cool my food down pretty fast. Other than that, the drinks, appetizers, and food were great! The crab cakes definitely deserve their award for being a top entree ... They were AWESOME!!! We had great service and our waiter seemed knowledgeable about the menu. I would definitely go back to belfords "

  • "We are new Savannah residents working our way through the local restaurants. This one is full of tourists as it is right on the City Market Square and has a lot of pleasant seating outside. We've been here about 3 times for brunch and 1 time for dinner. Belford's has a great location. The staff are quietly efficient, pleasant and professional. The music is just the right level and fits the mood. The menu has a limited selection but covers all the bases with an emphasis on Low Country favorites and sea food. Brunch is a great value. The bacon omelette is not to be missed. They pour a mean Bloody Mary. For dinner, we liked the Roast Chicken and the Shrimp and Grits Cake. Dinner prices struck me as a little high."

  • "Belford's had exactly what we were expecting for the meal. We went with fried green tomatoes which came with a really great sauce. For the main course we had chicken and fish - both equally excellent. It was a great night to sit outside and people watch in the Market. The staff was very friendly."
    Dined on 5/15/2014
  • "You know...This should be better. The waiter was lackluster. The kitchen was loud based on what we thought the restaurant's reputation. "
    Dined on 5/11/2014
  • "Everything was good. The only slight problem I had was when I asked the hostess to change our table because the sun was streaming in on us and it was very warm. She acted like she didn't want to move us. I did not see the problem due to the fact the place was not crowded. Other than that all was good. Very good food!!"

  • "Belford's is great and we go there often. Service and food are excellent and the outdoor dining area is one of the nicest in town. The menu is pretty diverse with lots of great choices."
    Dined on 5/10/2014
  • "Belford's is located in 'City Center' which is a walking street lined with restaurants and shops. On weekends in good weather, it gets pretty crowded and can be fun to people watch. There were five us that dined on the outdoor patio. They have a nice patio with a good view of the 'action'. The end of the patio near the street can give you some exhaust smell depending on the wind. It's right where the trolley stops. All of our meals were good. As others have noted, the service was slow. This is the second time we've dined here with a similar experience. We've near eaten indoors, but it also has a nice atmosphere. I'd go back again but wish they'd find a way to speed up service. "

  • "I made a reservation in advance of my stay in Savannah and was joining a party with four others. The staff who sat us was friendly, however through our meal, our server paid little attention to us. He never asked us if we wanted another round of drinks and my water was not refilled through the entire dinner. I ordered a slightly modified dish and substituted a vegetable. With this, I received a very small portion, and although it was tasty, it appeared to be smaller than the other diners' meals at our table. "

  • "Great place to eat...close too the River Front and all the shops...Their spin on shrimp & grits are fantastic...Walking distince from adeqiate lodging..."
    Dined on 4/4/2014
  • "I don't often write bad reviews on here, but the service and chaos at this restaurant deserves to be called out so that people will know to avoid it. I won't go into too many details, but we waited 45 minutes for our first round of drinks, after 1.5 hours, our appetizers still weren't out and the manager finally came over to our table. She rushed them out and they were the wrong order and falling off the plate. We got up and left - never saw the main course. I dine out a lot, this was actually one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. It's a shame - the location is great."
    Dined on 2/23/2014
  • "We decided to order a few appetizers instead of a large meal. Everything was excellent! The she-crab bisque, crab cakes, scallops and fried green tomatoes were all good. There was nothing bad. I would definitely recommend this place and would go back again."

  • "My first time at Belford. It was in the bustling historic part of Savannah, and was a very nice location, and great old building modernized without losing its historical appeal. The menu was pretty varied, with a few items winning Savannah area awards. I had lobster ravioli w/ Cajon cream, shrimp & scallops. Really great with just a bit of kick. Daughter had shrimp & grits. Nicely done and well presented. Service friendly, professional and prompt. "

  • "From the moment the waiter greeted us, to the beautiful finale, we were treated to a perfect Savannah experience. Starting with the beautiful signature Bloody Mary made just the way I like it, I was relaxed and entertained by the people watching. The laid back albeit upscale atmosphere was the perfect spot for a late lunch with my Marine son. We had two scrumptious dishes including the shrimp and greens that I will never forget. Well done Savannah. Well done Belford's! "

  • "Our meal was delicious! Food was excellent quality, well prepared and beautifully presented. The service was a bit sluggish throughout...my husband ordered an additional beverage when our meal was served ~ it arrived when we were ready for our check!"

  • "I have lived in Savannah before, but somehow missed this when I lived there. I was there for a conference and brought a large group here for dinner. Everyone rave d about the food and the service. Great time had by all. Most memoprable for a while will be there crab crakes and the home made ice cream that one of the group had for dinner. All deserts are made in house and this ice cream was insanely good!"
