They were out of a lot of options when we arrived. It was a Monday night, so maybe they hadn't received all their supplies for the week?
Overall, I wouldn't be kicking and screaming if I ever had to go back there... but I probably wouldn't go back on my own accord.

We booked the room upstairs and ended up having it to ourselves for a birthday gathering with 16 people. The service was excellent, even though we were essentially out of site. The general manager was incredibly helpful and responsive.

I hosted a birthday party here with 16 friends. The location and ambiance was nice but he service and food were very disappointing. We had two waiters and it still took over 45 minutes when we asked for dipping oil. They paid very little attention to us and left our glasses empty. They were kind enough to send us a birthday dessert but the rest of the food was boring.

The pappardelle, calamari and carpaccio were great, steaks and sides mediocre. Wine list didn't seem to fit too well with the food, and no one was very knowledgeable about it. Our server was good at first and then disappeared and was not attentive at all. We enjoyed sitting outside and were treated to some fun live music, but there are many better places to spend money for a nice meal in SF.

This was a great place to take out-of-town friends. Walking into Belden Lane always feels like a fun find. The weather was nice but we opted to sit upstairs, inside. It doesn't quite feel as festive as outside, but it's warmer. The waiter was beyond friendly. Our friends didn't drink so we didn't order any wine. Other restaurants would frown if we didn't order any wine, but this waiter was gracious and courteous, making our out-of-town guests feel welcome. Good variety of food selection too. I'll definitely bring other folks back.
