improve the food. The food need to
be more, include more tables so people don't have to wait ahour to be seated."

Ice cream, whipped cream and
strawberry puree were the highlight of the meal. The steak was dry, duck livers a spongey dry and pork belly chips were like tough wood chips. The raspberry ketchup was pretty awesome though the rest of the condiments included either did not mesh well with its pairing or tasted plain bad, I'm looking at you horseradish butter. Ambiance wise, it was too loud to hold a conversation with the person across from me with the tables packed closely and everyone against the wall literally sitting next to each other, had misfortune of sitting next to a guy making his dining partner uncomfortable bragging about his many sexual exploits while elbowing me when making grand gestures. Would try new items if I stop by again."

Great choices of beer, pub style
gourmet food, and decent atmosphere. Would definitely come back. Our server was awesome and pretty much the whole staff was attentive too. Favorite items were the grilled cheese maple syrup and bacon and the death by duck fries."

I'm working in West LA and my
hubby (works in East. LA) and we decide to have a date night. I couldn't decide on a restaurant when this gastro pub hits my radar. I didn't find this place on Open Table, but through an internet search. The menu intrigued me a bit. The "Death by Duck" fries...seriously, be careful not to swallow your fingers! The deep fried duck liver. Wow! The dipping sauces for both were outstanding. My hubby ordered chicken wings and their "jar of homemade pickles"...very yummy. The pickles were addicting. We shared the roasted duck French dip with duck au jus and it was delicious and well flavored! I had an ale...laced with coffee flavor! I had to have 2 of those. They were super busy, but the waitress was attentive!"

Great place to go with a group of
friends to indulge. Bikini blonde brew was amazing. Reserve your table online for quick seating."

Valet is only $2 and super
convenient. Everyone was super nice and helpful. Food was delicious!"

One of the best places I've been
to yet to eat in LA!! I had the best grilled cheese of my life! Also the duck fat fries and pork belly chips were delicious!! Last but def NOT least. The deep fried Twinkie was amazing!!!"
Dined on 2/22/2014
Duck French dip is perfect,
catfish perfect! Make sure to order a lot of beer and try new things."

I saw this place featured on
Diners Drive ins & Dives & they were right. This place was awesome. I've never had duck I. Such interesting ways. The food was awesome & the beer list is great. I definitely recommend this to anyone who appreciates great food."

Very Loud, very casual, very
friendly, oriented toward groupings. Great beer!"
Dined on 2/17/2014
I've been here twice already and
thus far everything I've had to eat and drink here has been amazing. I love their food and I love the different craft beers."
Dined on 2/14/2014
The great modern hole in the wall.
Located at the back of a parking lot, it is easy to drive by the driveway. We got there at opening, when wait staff and kitchens are usually in slow mode; not this place. The wait staff are very friendly and efficient. Our group shared dishes this worked out well. The duck fat fries were as good as I have had. Next time we will get the duck fat fries with confit The fried chicken strips were also good and the duck livers were better. Best was the deep fried pop tart! Outstanding craft brews on tap."

Absolutely loved everything about
Beer Belly, we will make an effort to stop by whenever we visit LA!"
Dined on 2/13/2014
Took some friends here for their
first time and I got the chance to try dishes I hadn't yet sampled. My friends enjoyed it, the food was great, and our server was just as good."
Dined on 2/10/2014
Food was different and good, I
wish be meals came out together. Hanger steak was tender and good but the meat and fries were barely warm. Excellent deep fried Oreo's!!!!!!"
Dined on 2/8/2014
Food was just OK. Both Duck Fat &
Grease Cooked Fries were soaked with grease. I ate there, don't intend to go back! For Question #2, please add "none of the above"."

I was visiting L.A. and my friend
recommended we go to Beer Belly based on some online recommendations. It is more bar-like than restaurant-like, and it is VERY loud. The door kept opening and the smell of cigarettes coming from the outside smokers kept taking over the restaurant. That aside, the food was good and our server was very nice and helpful. The short ribs were very good, and the I liked the homemade pickles too. My friend loved the duck fat fries but I don't really like that flavor. For dessert, we got the fried oatmeal cream pie and fried poptart. The poptart was amazing. Overall I think this is good to check out once, but I probably wouldn't go back. I'm not a drinker, so this may have been more appealing to me if I was."

Sweet little place tucked in the
back of a parking lot in Korea town. The service was amazing - we were offered small tastes of the draft craft and thoroughly enjoyed the food which paired well with the beer. Short ribs, sublime broccolo rabe and fries cooked in duck fat. We'll be back. The Open table rezzy meant we our table was waiting for us at a very busy time."
Dined on 2/6/2014
Im not big on trying out different
foods but the food here was great!! They have all crafted beers here, our server was nice and let us sample them before we placed our order.. Their root beer was AMAZING!! I'd definitely recommend this place.."

Heard about this place on Diners,
Dive-in, Dives. Unbelievable food and service. The waitress explained the food and made recommendations, so easy going, friendly and knowledgable. There were 5 of us and ordered many items, but you must try the grilled cheese with egg sandwich…oh forget it try everything. Don't miss it."
Dined on 1/24/2014
After seeing this restaurant on
Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, we decided to incorporate a visit during our trip to LA. We were there in the evening, and although our server was very friendly, they were out of practically everything which basically set the tone for our evening. Given they were out of so much, the beer flights weren't even available. The food they did have was underwhelming. The duck fries weren't very flavourful, neither was the mac and cheese. The bacon fries were quite good though and the deep fried oreos were certainly a fun treat. Since signature items weren't available on a saturday night and we had come from another country, it was certainly disappointing."
Dined on 1/25/2014
Alison's salad was microscopic, my
steak and fries were cold, it was 6.30pm and they had already run out of half of the beer list. We could do nothing as we were on a deadline, with tickets to a show at the Wiltern and so did not have the luxury of time to complain. I'll happily meet for beers here again but won't expect much"
Dined on 1/23/2014
I've been here twice and both
times the food was outstanding. The duck fat fries are the whole reason my partner and I come here. Delightfully crunchy and flavorful. We're still working our way through the menu but the fries are a must have. I marked "Quiet" as the noise level because we sat outside on the patio. Scenic, it's not because you're pretty much just looking at the parking lot, but when you're dining on some of the most incredible food in LA, who cares. Inside it's very noisy with great music and wild bar atmosphere. This is not a bad thing, and if you're looking for a social hot spot, it's perfect. But even the most avid bar goers need to chill a little sometimes, so the patio is a nice change. Go here, you'll love it."

Found this place on a beer
newspaper and decided to try it. Great choice! Food was delicious especially the duck fries, service was great and the beer selection was just right. Can't wait to come back. Oh yea deep fried Twinkie is a must."

I am a major food and the bar is
enthusiast. Well traveled, exposed to a lot of flavors, yada yada yada. Now you know where I am coming from. Best fries ever - Death by Duck. I spend a lot of time in france so fries cooked in duck fat are no new thing for me. The combination of fries, duck fat, duck confit, crackling, and raspberry mustard......SImply brilliant. I ordered multiple things on the menu and there are no wrong answers. Beer menu is excellent but not quite on par with the food (but that is a very high bar). I am going back with a pocket full of cash and ordering everything on the menu. Hail Beer Belly!"

I came here after seeing it on
Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives. The food itself was pretty good - a little greasy but that's to be expected when everything is fried. The duck fat fries were delicious. The deep fried desserts were a let down. But the beer selection was out of this work."
Dined on 7/5/2013
Food was greasy and horrible.
McDonald's breakfast sandwich is better. Triple D got it so wrong!!!!"
Dined on 1/5/2014
The food was amazing! My wife and
I shared the Braised ribs and the French dip! Both were amazing although I must admit my wife's dip was the better of the two dishes! The micro brew selection was also spot on ! This place will be on our list every time we visit the West Coast! Tim & Leigh Holmes"

The staff are all smiles, helpful,
knowledgable, and patient. Their humor elevates the ambiance of the reinvented one-room restaurant. And although it feels like a barn, the exquisite wood-paneled walls makes it something different. Your table neighbors will rave about the grilled cheese and mac and cheese, but don't count out the duck au jus and the buttermilk fried chicken that is so light and juicy that you'll consider getting a to-go order at the end of the meal. Last but not least: The duck fat fries have a different type of salt flavor that gently lingers on your palette. The raspberry mustard transforms the fries sweetly. But, the fries alone are comfort enough. Duck chicharron bits nest in the fries for an appropriate salty crunch!"

This restaurant serves amazing
food. It may not be the healthiest, but it is worth it if you want a change from your typical LA restaurant. I was full for 24 hours after eating here and we only ordered three dishes for the two of us, with some left overs. The chicken, mac n cheese, and bacon fries were really good."
Dined on 1/2/2014
We tried this establishment
because of Triple D...will return because of the chef. My compliments to the owners and chef for a unique dining experience, great "Music Democracy" and overall fun for a family who loves food adventures. Not a lot of seating, reservations recommended. The beers were amazing and our waitress was just a doll. The food did come out as it was cooked, but that strung the evening out longer...worth the wait."
Dined on 12/30/2013
Seriously amazing food. The
grilled cheese has something like five different cheeses including bleu, Gruyere, cheddar, and brie, then topped with a fried egg. The wings are alright, nothing special. The hanger steak crusted with rosemary is . . . you're not going to want to share. The duck fat fries will make you feel guilty but their worth it! The beer was California Creamin' a spin on vanilla cream soda, smooth and flavorful and only available at Beer Belly in Los Angeles."

Saw Beer Belly on Diners, driveins
and dives and knew we had to try it on our trip to LA. The food was just delicious! The duck fries, mAc n cheese, fried chicken tenders, duck french dips were all as good as they looked on tv. We tried each desert and the fried poptart had to be my favorite! The beers were unusual aNd very good! Our waitress was just a delight!! My teenagers and my parents enjoyed every bit as well!! Its a must when in LA!!!!"

I saw the beer belly on Diners
Drive ins and Dives It was everthing that the show said Great services Great atmosphere Great food"
Dined on 12/18/2013
Grilled cheese sandwich with 4
cheeses, applewood smoked bacon and maple syrup a must! Duck fat fries sinful. Can't wait to return to try more stuff! Diner-Drive-In's-And Dives was spot on. I'm sure the beers are great too but wasn't in a beer mood since we were going out drinking after!"
Dined on 12/20/2013
The duck fries, pork belly and
duck livers were out of sight. Topped off with the duck french dip an overall fabulous meal. Prices were very reasonable too!"
Dined on 12/17/2013
A nice, hidden spot tucked away
behind Iota. Great service and unique selection of foods!"
Dined on 12/17/2013
Small place but nice. Expected
more duck on food.loved the wings. Took a bit to get waited on. Would go back."

Patio area needs better lighting
to read the menu."

I heard about Beer Belly from
Diners, Drive Ins and Dives last years and, because I live on the East Coast, I've been itching to get there. Because of work/holiday/family I was finally able to get there -- and wow, it lived up to every expectation. My coworkers, who came with me, are now planing their next visit -- without me."
