From the moment we walked in we were greeted with smiles. Our table was ready within minutes. The Sunday Jazz brunch was a perfect choice to sit eat and be able to have a conversation at our table. The food was fabulous. I had the Salmon cakes with Hollandaise sauce and it was spectacular. I would recommend this brunch experience to anyone.

I have been to the Beehive before, but never for brunch with live jazz. We were seated promptly and lucky enough to be right next to the stage. Since my party of three was made up of musicians, we appreciated these seats even more. The jazz was spectacular, and added to the ambiance of our brunch. My husband and I both had the brunch poutine and it was excellent. My mother had the spinach/feta omelet and loved it. Even the coffee was outstanding. Our servers were friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was definitely energetic, but not so loud we couldn't converse when they band was on break. We didn't want to leave!

Took my husband here as he loves jazz and I heard about the jazz brunch. I ordered the eggs benedict with short ribs and my husband had the quiche. I knew it wasn't going to be great when we received our food literally less than 5 minutes after we ordered it! Nothing on either of our plates was hot. I found a bay leaf in my short ribs. Hardly any hollandaise sauce and my yolks were cooked hard. My husband's quiche came out looking like a brick and was a very odd color (green? grey? hard to tell in the light.) The jazz band was nice, but I'm afraid that's the only positive thing I can say. Was shocked when I heard they were booked for the day. We will definitely NOT be going back. Too many other great restaurants in Boston!

I had my mother and her friend visiting from California this past weekend and was looking for a fun place with great food to take them. Beehive provided all of that and beyond. The food was outstanding. Each of us ordered a separate dish and were able to taste each one. All were absolutely delicious. The ambiance was fantastic with the music in the background. My mother and her friend could not stop raving about the experience and the wonderful staff at Beehive really helped to make that experience wonderful.

I haven't been to the Beehive in a few years. I am so glad I remembered it for our anniversary! It's a perfect date night spot, great for a girls night or with a group of friends. Live Jazz music while your eating dinner is such a treat (if you're into that!). The food is delicious! Our service was outstanding, when I told them it was our anniversary on our reservation, they did everything possible to make it special! Ask for a seat downstairs near the stage so you can listen to the music. They play at a great level so you can still converse. The bar gets extremely crowded. There is also an upstairs area which is more quiet. Price, I would say is average for Boston. I would definitely recommend this place!

I've been to the beehive for brunch and loved it! Thought I would try out dinner despite some yelp reviews that warned of the salty and less than impressive dishes. I should have listened. I will not be back, for brunch or dinner. They should take a cue from their sister restaurant, beat hotel. Ate there last weekend and food was absolutely delicious!

This was my 2nd time to this restaurant & I was not disappointed. We were warmly greeted by the hostess who invited us to sit at the bar while waiting for our table to be ready. This was a treat -they have the best Bloody Mary's - glasses are rimmed with salt +old bay. The hostess gave us a choice of being seated on time or waiting for a great table. We chose the great table and was not disappointed. We listened to the jazz band, & had Anthony for our waiter. Anthony was the perfect combination of warm, friendly and efficient. We had a pumpkin coffee cake for an appetizer (amazing) and I had the eggs Benedict. Overall the food, drinks, atmosphere and service were A+ - this is definitely one of my Boston staples now for brunch.

Have dined here with family and friends three times now. This time on a Tuesday evening. We arrived early and were seated immediately. The tables are small and the seating rickety, the kind you'll find at an old nightclub. Ordered a bottle of Lebanese red and dinners that were each outstanding. I enjoyed a vegetable lasagna that was described as "unusually hearty." Definitely undersold! - it was certainly hearty but was also indescribably delicious. Good-sized portion, firm noodles, perfectly cooked & seasoned vegetables, a slightly zingy diced tomato sauce and served piping hot covered with arugula. My dining mates enjoyed lamb & chicken couscous, beef ribs with a beet salad (shared and loved), and a skirt steak special. All super.

We came for dinner & jazz on a Saturday night. Table had a great view of the stage and service was good. However, the food was pretty bad. My beef short ribs was actually just a piece of meat (prime rib?). My wife's Moroccan Lamb & chicken consisted of stone cold cubes of mystery meat, awful salty mystery sausage and a chicken breast served in a pot. We sent the food back to the kitchen. It later came back with got meat and a random assortment of mostly raw vegetables. We left shortly thereafter.

Considering all the assurances required to make a reservation(credit card, confirmation call, seating only when all members arrive,etc..),I expected a very strict, up-tight atmosphere. Beehive is nothing like that! It is a very eclectic, friendly and bustling place. Our server was knowledgeable and patient . Reminded him of our timing( message to the restaurant was overlooked). All was well-drinks delicious, appetizers good until 3 out of 5 dinners arrived - waited for almost 10 mins. for the other main courses. We were baffled! Received apologies, but it changed the good vibe of the experience to just a so-so time. Food was good, abundant and well priced. Menu varied enough to meet all needs. I will go again.

We absolutely loved the brunch experience at The Beehive. The décor of the room is funky and comfortable and the addition of the jazz band playing in the same room made the experience feel festive, but was not overwhelming or too loud. Though this was a relatively small menu, it felt like a big menu with a diversity of choices, many of which were inventive spins on traditional brunch dishes. Anthony, our server, was AMAZING!

From the greeting to the check, I can't say enough good things about brunch at Beehive. We were celebrating our anniversary and having noted on the reservation, we were greeted with Happy Anniversary and even our waitress knew. We were given a great table with a view of the Jazz band. The ambiance is great and while we were two having a romantic meal, there were tables of 8 and 10 around and neither impacted the others experience. The food choices are great....try the coffee cake! and service wonderful! Really wonderful time where the customer is made to feel so appreciated!

Really great/eclectic food, very professional yet funky staff, cool vibe, cool (live) music, unique wine list. Price feels about right, can go for a drink and a snack without breaking the bank, can easily blow $100+/pp if wine and desert are involved. It can get loud (mainly from the people, not the music) - I took my parents there at 8PM on a Saturday and I think it was a bit much.

My friends were visiting from Connecticut, and wanted to do something different. Although we had reservations, we were seated near the loud bar, we couldn't hear the music. We did dinner early at 6 pm & it wasn't too crowded. Our server Allen was horrible. It took 20 mns from the time we sat down to when he greeted us & took our drink order. It took another 20 mns for him to come back and get our food, which was served cold. I ordered the lamb & chicken plate, and the lamb consisted of lamb sausages not described in the menu. He spilled my friend's drink all over her and barely apologized. When we spoke to the manager/owner about the service, he gave us a snarky comment and did absolutely nothing. We paid our tab and would never go back.
