  • "From the second you walk in to this place, the reservations are always ready and the music is going. The dim lighting gives it a classy feel, and the food is delicious! They change their menu from time to time but everything is still amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a nice evening with a friend or a romantic dinner with your other half. This is the only place I go when I visit Boston!"

  • "Beehive is a reliable (in the best sense of that word) place to eat. I enjoy each visit and have been consistently pleased with my food choices. The staff, from front desk to waitstaff, are friendly and helpful. What's not to like!"

  • "I love this place for the atmosphere and the great music. Bonus is that the food is fantastic, original, fresh and with a great presentation. Service is always great. The only down side is that if you make a reservation they often try to rush you out to accomodate the next reservation."

  • "Bartender at our hotel recommended it, we were sooo happy with the décor, staff, live music and the food was too amazing. Love this place."

  • "Toll my 2 vegetarian friends to the Beehive for dinner. While I enjoyed the filet mignon, they each enjoyed the veggie lasagna. Perfect evening!"

  • "Food was great. Live Jazz playing at just the right volume. Pleasant to listen and didn't have to shout to my dining partners."

  • "Disappointed in the food in this bohemian restaurant, but everything else was fabulous, including the service. I had the skirt steak and garden salad. It was tough and the salad dressing left a lot to be desired. My husband's burger was good until the end, when he said it tasted greasy. On the other hand, the fries were out of this world. My cocktail was good and bubbly. The entertainment was good, not overly loud, and they played films on the old brick wall. I was told the brunch is good. Go for the fun."

  • "Our favorite spot to bring out of town friends. We love the atmosphere, live music, and the menu. Our service is always on par. Top notch. Always impressed, our friends leave feeling "wowed" . Keep it up Beehive"

  • "Great outdoor vibe and wonderful, passionate service. Frites were amazing--a few other dishes were strongly good--but slightly flat."

  • "This was my third time at the Beehive, and each time I been very happy with the service. I have tried several of their dishes and since each of my friends ordered something different we had the opportunity to try almost everything on the menu. Food was worth the price. The live band keeps your feet tapping. Great place for dinner with friends and best of all reservations were easy to make."

  • "Had a lovely experience at the Beehive. Loved our server and the food was outstanding and the overall presentation of the food was great. The beehive makes a great house honey brewed beer and Valentino martini. The ambience was perfect, and while the live jazz band made the dinning experience stand out from other restaurants, it was a little too noisy and I found my date and I had to talk very loudly in each other's ears to hear one another. If the band played a little softer to be more of background music rather than performing loudly as if we were at a concert, I think it really would have amplified the entire experience. Would definitely recommend the restaurant."

  • "I would give zero stars for service if possible. It took forever to be seated with a reservation, our waitress rambled on and on and didn't let us place our orders, after informing her we had a flight to catch our food did not come out for over an hour leaving us with 15 minutes to eat, and then the order was incorrect. Will not recommend and definitely will not return."

  • "Nobody at my table was that impressed with brunch. I think it would be good for dinner or drinks, but my French toast was deep fried within an inch of its life, and the omelette was over salted. Our server was pleasant, but for having open tables the food was slow to come out. The bathroom was clean, but really, really dark. I would try again for drinks or dinner, but I wasn't impressed with brunch."

  • "My boyfriend and I were visiting Boston for the weekend, and we wanted to find a unique restaurant to have brunch at to close out our trip. We both love live music, so it was an easy choice when we saw that Beehive played live jazz music for Sunday brunch. We were sold. Aside from the live music, great service and fantastic decor, the food was amazing! We both ordered breakfast cocktails that did not disappoint. We started our meal with the potato petrified that are an absolute must when having brunch here. I ordered the brisket grilled cheese, and my boyfriend ordered the salmon scramble. Neither of us left hungry or dissatisfied."

  • "We didnt know what to expect when we came into the restaurant but the ambiance was so beautiful it almost didnt matter if the food was good (almost). But the food was ahmazing, get the ribs as your appetizer! The portions were large so you got your moneys worth, unlike a lot of $$$ places. Really liked it! Perfect for a night out!"

  • "College shopping in Boston and needed a good place to eat and discuss options. Open Table reviews lead us to the Beehive and we are very grateful. Arrived just as dining room started seating so had the place to ourselves- hostesses were dolls chatting with us. Great decor and vibe. Bet that it would be rocking soon as live music was scheduled for 8pm. Server was a dashing and knowledgeable gentleman and we ordered his menu favorites. Two words: Excellent food. Picky husband said never tasted better. Hope daughter picks school nearby as I want to return!"

  • "I went for Bastille Day to see "C'est Si Bon" play. Great performance! My grilled calamari appetizer was excellent and the hanger steak with frites and green beans amadine was very good too. The pot au chocolat was rich and dark. Wine: disappointingly, only 5 reds, 4 white, and 1 rose by the glass. I went with a decent Malbec at the indecent price of $11.50 per glass. My excellent dinner ended with an "espresso" that was horrible: weak like coffee with no crema. The waitstaff was competant and pleasant, but as always, I felt like I was being pushed at the end to give up my table. My check arrived before I asked for it, after my main course, so I had to ask for dessert. I blame management for this, not the waitstaff."

  • "I ate here for brunch and really enjoyed it. I thought their shakshuka plate was excellent. We made reservations (a must for a Sunday brunch). Of note, you can't make a reservation for outdoor seating"

  • "The Beehive is a great place to enjoy brunch while taking in the stylish decor and live jazz music. I just experienced my third visit (twice for brunch, once for dinner) and it's always been a great time. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is upbeat! I hear there's a vibrant late-night scene, too."

  • "We had a wonderful time on Saturday evening. The food was delicious, and our waiter could not have been nicer or more helpful. Try the ribs appetizer and the salads. The band came on at 10:00 , and made the evening even more fun. It's a great lively atmosphere."

  • "Probably my 4th or 5th time dining at The Beehive, by far this was the best. Requested a seat in front of the stage, it was perfect. Had the GRILLED CALAMARI, CHEROKEE RED LEAf, CHICKPEAS, LEMON VINAIGRETTE, GARLIC PEPPERS appetizer. Not what I was expecting but pleasantly surprised. Great flavor, and nice portion. For dinner I had the VEGETARIAN MOROCCAN COUSCOUS, it was perfect and nice they put the sauce on the side. My husband had the HANGER STEAK FRITES, PEPPERCORN JUS, GREEN BEAN AMANDINE. It was cooked perfectly. And of course had to have a QUEEN BEE cocktail, yummy."

  • "Thrilled that we headed over to the S. End to enjoy this gem on our anniversary. Server was a pro. He was very knowledgable and helpful. Band volume was enough to hear the cool sounds while allowing us to talk during dinner. Highly recommend."

  • "The service was great. The fries were outstanding. My burger had too much roll. My husband thought the swordfish was tasty, but he was still hungry. I suggest that the hostess ask if patrons wish to be seated near the band or not. It was difficult to talk once the band started."

  • "It was well worth the wait for my first jazz club experience. I've wanted to go to one ever since I was very young when I first saw "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?". The lighting was very fitting. The fragrance in the lower room was filled with delicious food scents, a hint of sweet alcohols and a soft mustiness from the room's brick walls and fabric scene curtains. Very enjoyable jazz band playing. Mellow and authentic. I cannot remember the band's name. It was my 26th birthday and I was made a very happy girl! I ordered the shrimp flatbread pizza which was strikingly tasty, and my party ordered a variety of other appetizer dishes which were equally good. I highly, HIGHLY recommend the Beehive! I will definitely come again. :)"

  • "Very busy location so definitely book ahead. We arrived and were sat immediately, however the server did not come to us for a significant time frame and throughout the meal was missing whenever we needed something. The food however was good. We got the caprese salad, which was outstanding, but the main dishes were only lackluster. They were small in size and the taste was just basic, with not to many flavors. We had to wait for another significant amount of time for the bill. Overall it was nice as a destination if you want to meet a friend and are not in any hurry!!"

  • "We took my mom to the Jazz brunch at the Beehive last Sunday and it was fantastic! Great atmosphere, food, cocktails and of course jazz. Strongly recommend the Perogis Appetize, the French Toast was amazing, and the Bloody Mary's were perfect. My wife and I plan to come back soon for the music in the evenings, apparently they have live music all the time."

  • "This place is always abuzz with lively people, and innovative cuisine. However, the best part is the atmosphere, which simply puts other neighboring restaurants to shame. The bar scene both upstairs and downstairs really come alive at night, and the music really makes an incredible ambiance that isn't to loud. This is a really good place for a classy date night for a stylish couple."

  • "Food Good, service good. But most people go for the music and it was very good! The only negative was the chairs were very uncomfortable."

  • " I live in the neighborhood and always count in the Beehive for on overall great experience. Unfortunately, i took a couple of my friends on a Monday night and found that the service was pushy and rude and made our dining experience unpleasant. I totally understand that they need to turn over the patio tables in order to accommodate the demand but we were pushed by the waiter and the back-up waiter and there were plenty if vacant tables. However the food was delicious . It is too bad that the service was not up to par."

  • "We had brunch on Sunday and the food was fabulous. The menu is not too long, but each plate was really unique. The staff was super nice and welcoming, but it them way too long to bring us our food. The waitress approached us several times to tell us that the food "was coming right out," but it took forever."

  • "The food was great. The experience was enhanced by the fact that the staff was "clicking" as an energetic and enthiastic team. They were spot on - even anticipating diners' needs."

  • "BeeHive is a jewel, but I think everyone knows that already. First time I've had the server check that my steak was cooked properly. Very attentive service. But what I really appreciated was the moderate noise level. You can hear both the music and the person on the other side of the table. Many restaurants don't manage noise levels well."

  • "Incredible decore, and I really enjoyed the live jazz. Overall hard to hate- we had a great time. I was a little unhappy w/ how tightly they packed people. Perhaps we sat next to a loud group. The 2-person tables are long, so we put ours sideways to hear each other better (by being closer), when they told us that it couldn't be allowed (...but there was still enough space, so I'm not sure why.) The other problem was the vegetarian options- there really were few. We got the veggie morrocan couscous but it really was kind of bland- i suspect it was just the chicken and lamb dish...simply without the chicken or lamb. Even with the presentation there was room that looked exactly perfect for the meat- I think that dish could be improve. A- :)"

  • "the food was stunning! And we had front row seats to the live jazz. Not only could we hear ourselves all through dinner, but we had the best background noise! Our server was very attentive and answered any questions we posed."

  • "Snarled traffic put us behind schedule for our reservation; it was nice to be reassured there was "no problem" when we called. Upon arrival we were shown to our table just in time for the music to begin. Menus choice were delightful and the food didn't disappoint. Despite our later arrival service was excellent and we had plenty of time to enjoy our meal before the theater."
