  • "The service was great. The fries were outstanding. My burger had too much roll. My husband thought the swordfish was tasty, but he was still hungry. I suggest that the hostess ask if patrons wish to be seated near the band or not. It was difficult to talk once the band started."

  • "It was well worth the wait for my first jazz club experience. I've wanted to go to one ever since I was very young when I first saw "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?". The lighting was very fitting. The fragrance in the lower room was filled with delicious food scents, a hint of sweet alcohols and a soft mustiness from the room's brick walls and fabric scene curtains. Very enjoyable jazz band playing. Mellow and authentic. I cannot remember the band's name. It was my 26th birthday and I was made a very happy girl! I ordered the shrimp flatbread pizza which was strikingly tasty, and my party ordered a variety of other appetizer dishes which were equally good. I highly, HIGHLY recommend the Beehive! I will definitely come again. :)"

  • "Went here on a lovely date a few months ago and had family in town so thought I would bring them back. Quiet enough to be able to converse with the parents and fun enough to be entertaining for us younger folks."

  • "Very busy location so definitely book ahead. We arrived and were sat immediately, however the server did not come to us for a significant time frame and throughout the meal was missing whenever we needed something. The food however was good. We got the caprese salad, which was outstanding, but the main dishes were only lackluster. They were small in size and the taste was just basic, with not to many flavors. We had to wait for another significant amount of time for the bill. Overall it was nice as a destination if you want to meet a friend and are not in any hurry!!"

  • "We took my mom to the Jazz brunch at the Beehive last Sunday and it was fantastic! Great atmosphere, food, cocktails and of course jazz. Strongly recommend the Perogis Appetize, the French Toast was amazing, and the Bloody Mary's were perfect. My wife and I plan to come back soon for the music in the evenings, apparently they have live music all the time."

  • "My husband and I have been to the jazz brunch at the Beehive on 2 other occasions. Both were great. On this occasion the food was great, the music was great and the service started out great but kind of petered out at the end. We like to make a morning of the brunch. We order several appetizers and entrees and split them. Our water was refilled regularly but the coffee was a bit harder to come by. Also, after our second entree we were prepared to try one more but we waited a very long time before we saw our server at which point we opted to just take the check. They weren't overly busy so this was a bit disappointing. I would still recommend the jazz brunch and will go back, I was just a bit disappointed with the service this time around."

  • " I live in the neighborhood and always count in the Beehive for on overall great experience. Unfortunately, i took a couple of my friends on a Monday night and found that the service was pushy and rude and made our dining experience unpleasant. I totally understand that they need to turn over the patio tables in order to accommodate the demand but we were pushed by the waiter and the back-up waiter and there were plenty if vacant tables. However the food was delicious . It is too bad that the service was not up to par."

  • "The food was great. The experience was enhanced by the fact that the staff was "clicking" as an energetic and enthiastic team. They were spot on - even anticipating diners' needs."

  • "We had brunch on Sunday and the food was fabulous. The menu is not too long, but each plate was really unique. The staff was super nice and welcoming, but it them way too long to bring us our food. The waitress approached us several times to tell us that the food "was coming right out," but it took forever."

  • "Incredible decore, and I really enjoyed the live jazz. Overall hard to hate- we had a great time. I was a little unhappy w/ how tightly they packed people. Perhaps we sat next to a loud group. The 2-person tables are long, so we put ours sideways to hear each other better (by being closer), when they told us that it couldn't be allowed (...but there was still enough space, so I'm not sure why.) The other problem was the vegetarian options- there really were few. We got the veggie morrocan couscous but it really was kind of bland- i suspect it was just the chicken and lamb dish...simply without the chicken or lamb. Even with the presentation there was room that looked exactly perfect for the meat- I think that dish could be improve. A- :)"

  • "BeeHive is a jewel, but I think everyone knows that already. First time I've had the server check that my steak was cooked properly. Very attentive service. But what I really appreciated was the moderate noise level. You can hear both the music and the person on the other side of the table. Many restaurants don't manage noise levels well."

  • "the food was stunning! And we had front row seats to the live jazz. Not only could we hear ourselves all through dinner, but we had the best background noise! Our server was very attentive and answered any questions we posed."

  • "Snarled traffic put us behind schedule for our reservation; it was nice to be reassured there was "no problem" when we called. Upon arrival we were shown to our table just in time for the music to begin. Menus choice were delightful and the food didn't disappoint. Despite our later arrival service was excellent and we had plenty of time to enjoy our meal before the theater."

  • "So nice to sit outside! Loved salmon eggs benedict. My husband loved the scrambled eggs plate. Wish there was chocolate milk!"

  • "Order the Eggs Shakshuka, with the Moroccan Sausage. Cannot go wrong (unless you dislike spicy foods). Very good music and entertainment. Wonderful downstairs bar. Upstairs has a great top-down view of the tables and jazz band, with a projector showing burlesque shows from the 40's. Service was a bit slow, but it was 11am on a Sunday, so acceptable."

  • "Oysters, excellent bubbly drinks, killer appetizers (like the chocolate bread thing with cinnamon butter), my son's french toast was too die for, and great brunch entrees. I can't say enough about how helpful, responsive and professional the wait staff were. Memorable Father's Day brunch for us."

  • "Great food and service. Went there for a birthday and had requested a candle beforehand and they delivered spectacularly. Definitely going back again"

  • "Very friendly atmosphere, very welcoming. The vibe is eclectic for sure. We did not expect the old-fashioned burlesque silent movie (different film shorts each night) playing in a loop on the wall across from our table. It made for much entertainment and memorable conversation for this 30 year married couple! (Balcony table, great for enjoying the jazz) Martini's were excellent. The Caprese salad was great, enough for two to share. The short rib dish was superb as was the maple bread pudding dessert. There was a mix of ages and group sizes there. We loved the atmosphere and the food and drink and the jazz. I would recommend highly to the adventurous for the fun and food, less so for more conservative tastes."

  • "The food used to be better and the service was a lot better. I waited 15 minutes for an Arnold Palmer and 20 for an appetizer. The waitress totally forgot about our orders and the GM, while he got the drink and the appetizer right away, after I explained my dissatisfaction, took nothing off the bill and didnt offer a complimentary dessert. I spend over $120 that night and didn't enjoy myself. I will not be going back to this place unless someone treats me to a meal"

  • "I had a really great time at The Beehive. We had made a reservation for 2.15 in case we could not be seated in time. However, we arrived more than an hour early and were able to get a table immediately. However, the table was one of the worst tables in the restaurant. There was no view of the band, and we were not able to be moved because of other reservations. We were very dissapointed with the service because of that. However, the food made up for what the service was lacking. The ribs and chicken wings were absolutely amazing. The avacado cream that was served with the chicken wings were delicious and the ribs the best ribs I have ever had. As for the french toast which we shared after, that was the best I've ever had. Crunchy and sweet."

  • "I have been to Beehive several times for brunch and dinner for many occassions and have written favorable reviews here before, but this past Saturday, with my adult son, Beehive REALLY hit it out of park! Service was friendly, helpful and OUTSTANDING! Good suggestions...we tried to BBQ ribs for app at her suggestion...WOW! Caprese Salad...outstanding! Braised Short Ribs for me...I gave her two choices and told her to surprise me..GREAT SELECTION! My son had hanger steak frites...cleaned his plate. We split bread pudding dessert...again at her suggestion. I love the Beehive...good vibe, good people watching scene...great food. We'll be BACK..again and again! One of my favorite spots in Boston! Nice way to end a meandering Sat. in SE!"

  • "Incredible atmosphere, two jazz musicians played all morning during brunch. The food was incredible- I highly recommend the Eggs Shakshuka. We came to celebrate a friends bachelorette party, it was the perfect start to the day!"

  • "My wife and I went to Beehive for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. We were very impressed with the kindness and professionalism of the waiting staff. The restaurant has valet parking, which is great and makes the whole experience of getting into the city stress free for suburban people like us. We were initially seated at a table without view of the band. When I asked to change seating they immediately found us a great table, where we could enjoy the live music at its best. The food was good, although it was extraordinary. Probably the restaurant focuses on simple comfort food rather than culinary excellence. The main focus here is not the food, but rather the show and the overall experience, which is exactly what we wanted."

  • "Very loud, cramped and uncomfortable. Music might have been good but could not be heard over the loud background noise."

  • "The soft shell crab and rock shrimp were outstanding. Both were in a tempura batter and cooked perfectly. The sauce complimented perfectly and was not over done. The accompanying corn and fiddleheads were crisp tender and worked well. You never know what you will get with soft shells, but in the case you will be pleasantly surprised."

  • "My family was visiting from Florida and I knew I had to bring them to my favorite brunch spot! Everyone loved the food and our server was beyond amazing, but the food did take over 40 minutes to get to the table which was kind of a bummer, causing us to miss a tour we had already purchased tickets for, still my favorite spot, maybe a tough day in the kitchen?"
