I picked this restuarant for an after-theatre-spot, by location (easy to walk to) and online menu. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and the funky ambiance. On entering, the carpeting and curtains remind one of a brothel, but once inside, it's arranged nicely. Given I wanted to talk with my friend, I had asked for a quiet table. We were there early, but even when it filled up (before the music began) it was easy to enjoy a conversation. Food was exceptional as well. Highly recommended.

We've been meaning to try Beehive for some time, and a recent early theater start provided the opportunity - we were really pleased! The staff is terrific, including very accommodating bar tenders. The wine and drinks menu is eclectic and really interesting. Dining options are limited, but with enough variety and attention to detail to satisfy the four different palates in our party. We left before the entertainment began, but plan to return when we can linger. All four in our party highly recommend Beehive.

I went there with my partner to have a nice dinner. i had heard good things about the restaurant. The live music was way too loud to where we couldn't even hear ourselves think. We were seated upstairs overlooking the main dining room, which was a good spot except for when they would open the front door and the cold air would come in. My chicken was very good but my partner's salmon was overcooked. If I came back I would prefer coming when the atmosphere was somewhat quieter and would request to be seated downstairs.

What a lovely eveing we had at The Beehive! We were havnig dinner before seeing a Bad Habit Theater show at the BCA. From the friendly hostess greeting us, to the FANTASTIC cocktail (the butter-infused bourbon with the cider. Just get it. Get two) to the groovy jazz band, incredible appetizers, entrees and dessert, we had a truly enjoyable evening. Our waitress, Kate, was smart, knowledgeable and friendly. She took great care of us. Start to finish loveliness. We'll be back.

Our Friday night experience was wonderful. We were late getting into Boston and had to check into our hotel. I called the Beehive and they were able to push our reservation forward a half an hour. They were more than accommodating and gave us a beautiful table when we got there. Very intimate in a very busy place. Our waitress was outstanding and didn't bother us - but was there whenever we needed her. We ordered the Bohemian platter for an appetizer and then swordfish and pasta and a salad with steak for our entrees. They were outstanding. Nothing was rushed and we enjoyed all of our time there. Can't wait to go back.

The BH has great music and good food going for it. It could use an upgrade or face lift , which might improve the clientele a bit. While we come here for the music, the food does not disappoint. It's not fine dining but it's far better than most dinners at a music venue.

The drinks were excellent but the food, every dish that was ordered, was really really bland. For the price, you expect a lot more than what you get. Tables have a 1.5 hour max, and you definitely feel it. Went out for a birthday celebration but couldn't celebrate much. If you just hang out at the bar, it will be really crowded but probably a better experience than dinner. Can't even describe how AWFUL the valet was. No description of what you are supposed to do and when we asked the only person there, he yelled at us and told us to get in line - no indication of where this mysterious line was. Good thing we didn't valet, since we later walked by the unattended key box, on the street. The hostess was lovely though. We walked in to tell her about our valet issues and she told us not to worry that we would be seated once we parked. We were really 45 minutes late to our reservation because of it, but they didn't release it, which I thought was pretty amazing.

Came here for a leisurely dinner on a thurs nite...my waitress had zero, and I mean zero personality and felt like she was rushing our dinner. If she was trying to turn a table because there was a huge crowd id almost understand, but it was noticeably light. I think she even tried to have the barback which my date noticed was "carrying on" with her, to patronizingly ask us if we were "finished" so he could clear the table. I dropped a $120 on dinner and drinks so it;s not like I ordered a drink and app. The food was pretty good so no complaints there but since a waitress should be all about customer service then geez atleast try and fake the smile and the courteousness. It was for this reason alone that a possibly very good time turned into only a fair time. Luckily my date was really cool and helped turn an awkward situation into a laughable moment. I'll leave names and ethnicity out of the equation as not to get anyone in trouble.

We went to the Beehive before attending a play at the Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA. Although arly, the Beehive was lively. We got a great seat viewing the stage, but the music wasn't to start until later. Food (eggplant parm and Morocco Couscous) was great and portions sizable. We will go back and catch the music at a future time, but it's nice to know that the food stands on its own.

The Beehive has become one of my favorite restaurants in Boston. It has a funky, cool ambiance, jazzy feel and great food. Went here for a date1 on a Saturday brunch. Good point to the hostess who noticed on her screen that I requested a quiet spot and seated us accordingly. Given that I am French you should consider my rate 3/5 on food as a good rate. Waiter was discreet enough for what I had to do, he simply did the job without being intrusive. We stayed 3 hours (I apologize to Alan, the waiter, who couldn't turn his table, please thank him for not having made us feel rushed). And yes the date went perfectly too. Overall I definitely will be back to check it out for dinner.

We went to beehive a year ago and were disappointed with the food; however, we went again last weekend hoping it was an off night. Unfortunately, the food was actually worse and specifically, the big salad is a joke. A pile of bibb lettuce and a few 3" strips of mediocre steak for $30. The ambiance isn't worth the deficiency in food, we won't be going back. We also had to wait 15 minutes with a reservation and were seated in the exact section we asked not to be seated in.

This is our first trip to Boston and our first dining experience. We were greated pleasantly and seated right by the stage. The jazz was great but the music was not overpowering. We could still have a conversation. Somewhat predictable brunch menu with a few exceptions. We all enjoyed our choices. Service was attentive and helpful. Bloody Mary was great as well. The place was packed and we can see why. It was a great choice for us.

Having been once before, I was excited to take my parents for brunch. Bad decision. While the ambiance and music are nice, our server was terrible. I don't even think she told us her name. My mom's dish was overcooked and my dad's was cold. The server never came by to see how things were, so we couldn't even get her attention to send anything back. In fact, she never once asked how the food was. It was also still early for brunch and there were empty tables, so can't blame that. For such an expensive meal, this was not worth it. Very disappointing.

I was extremely excited to go to the Beehive. We were a small group of 4 people. I chose Beehive because I had heard so many great things. Our reservation were for 7:15 p.m. and we did not get seated until 8:15 p.m. The staff was very apologetic which was much appreciated but an hour wait after making reservations weeks in advance is quite frustrating. I have never returned a meal before. I ordered salmon which was beyond over cooked and my plate was cold. Again, the staff was extremely nice and apologetic and got me another meal right away. Went with a different dish and it was luke warm at best. I over all was very disappointed with the food. But with that said, I can't say enough for the wait staff.

Myself and 5 friends and one 4 year old had a wonderful brunch experience at The Beehive. We had quite a few different cocktails among us, the bloody mary and the draft beer options were favorites among us. I had the burger with added cheddar, plus fries and slaw. The burger was cooked perfectly (medium), and so flavorful. I added the slaw to the burger which added a nice crunch. The fries were fantastic, you could tell they were hand cut, and I enjoyed them quite a bit. Other standouts were the chili and short rib benedict. The food took a bit long, but it was swamped and we were enjoying conversation so we didn't mind. Our servers were absolutely wonderful and on top of all our requests. I will definitely come back as soon as possible!

Nestled in the corner downstairs near the bar a stones throw away from the jazz musicians our brunch started off with the pumpkin spiced bread and honey butter. Soon to follow were delicious champagne cocktails and poached egss atop a pile of poutine. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to indulge.
